Everyone from the front desk staff to insurance verification was quick and easy. My Insurnace was even verified before I arrived for my first appointment. Dr. Godwin was thorough and caring during my new patient exam and the X-Ray tech was gentle and patient with me. After my first visit I had a detailed treatment plan and got lucky and was able to schedule my fillings and cleaning for the following day. Kandiss was my hygienist and was caring and thorough. The assistant to Dr. Godwin ensured that the numbing was complete before I received any shots and for the first time I didn't even feel them. The work Dr. Godwin performed for my filings is amazing. They are perfectly smooth and unnoticeable. Overall I had an excellent experience and highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a caring and efficient office. The dentist I saw was incredibly kind and thorough. She conducted a comprehensive checkup to ensure there were no signs of infection or inflammation, and even ordered a CT scan of my teeth to make sure nothing was missed. After discussing the numbness and its progression, she gently suggested that it might be Bell's Palsy. However, to rule out the very slight chance of a stroke, she advised me to have someone take me to the emergency room immediately. The staff were all extremely kind and professional, and they asked only that I call and update them on my condition after my ER visit. I felt genuinely cared for, and I believe that level of care is the best any industry can offer its customers. Oh and it is Bell's Palsy. I should be right as rain in a few weeks to a few months.

When I scheduled my first appointment I was surprised that the dentist himself actually called me ahead of time to see if I had questions or concerns. I have experienced great service from the staff and everyone seems to genuinely care about the patient. I didn't rate a 5 because there is a strange smell in the practice and I think it's because it's a very old building. Also the parking is kind of weird because the building is literally on the side of the street and you have to drive down a hill and park behind or along the side of the building and walk back up. Some of the equipment needs replacement and overall maybe the building should be remodeled. To their credit, the current dentist, Dr. Vu has been there only 2 years and bought the practice from another dentist. The practice has been there like 100 years. I think they're in the process of drawing more patients to the practice. Also, I get free teeth whitening for life as a new patient :)

I scheduled it, and when I got home the dental assistant called and stated that the dentist didn't feel comfortable doing this procedure and that I should contact an oral surgeon to do the root canal and come back for the build up and crown. Yeah they got fired on the spot. That brings me to Oak Ridge... I had called numerous dentists spanning an area of 15 square miles, and everyone was either booked 4 weeks out, or wanted me to come in to look and see if they could do the procedure. I finally contacted Oak Ridge and they said that doctor Olsen would be able to do it the very next day, and that he had 30 years experience. Not only was it a speedy process from checking in to checking out, but the doc was confident, knowledgeable, and compassionate. If I felt pain he could tell and would try and work around it, making it a nearly painless procedure. I was also impressed with the staff from the assistant to billing. I know not everyone has good experiences with a dentist, but this is my first pleasant so far.

During my initial visit, one girl was literally screaming, and I was in a chair, right beside her, all of my personal health info heard for miles around, with her ignorant self. Why are hygienists so dumb? I just noticed that about most of them. Anyway, she just spoke loudly and could barely pronounce words. That was my queue to run out of there. They need to shut the doors for good.
