My husband had scheduled a massage as a gift for that afternoon. This was probably the worst experience I have had. The therapist was poor in her execution, style and even manner. Before my treatment even started she mentioned an up charge for deep tissue. During my treatment she burped two times and her massage was far from relaxing her massage etiquette as a therapist was poor and as it was my birthday it sort of ruined my whole experience there, which was a shame. I did reach out to the B&B and provided my feedback, was told the spa manager (Tanya) would reach out but she never did. Heard back from the B&B manager and she told me the owner would give me a $50 dollar credit to my treatment the next time! We live almost two hours away so will not be planning on using that any time soon. To be honest after that experience I would not go back to the spa. The b&b was lovely the massage experience not so.

Our mornings were filled with culinary delights thanks to the talented chefs, Michael and Linda. There are always 2 courses, and they typically feature some local produce and meats. Michael's breakfast creations on day one were a delightful surprise, with flavors that danced on our taste buds, especially the sausage! Linda, the breakfast chef on day two, continued the culinary excellence with a delectable breakfast that left us craving for more. The eggs with asparagus were amazing and I am super picky about my eggs. Rebecca, the waitress, deserves a special mention for her attentive and friendly service during our meals. She made dining a pleasure, always ready with a smile and quick to accommodate any request. Carla, the kitchen helper, and Cassidy, another member of the front desk and concierge team, contributed to the overall smooth operation of the inn. Their dedication behind the scenes did not go unnoticed, and it's evident that the entire staff at Lucille's is a well-oiled machine. Desserts are also served in the evening and the guests serve themselves and typically joined in the common areas, reading, chatting or playing one of the several board games available. It was delightful way to unwind. The highlight of our stay was the couples massage at the spa, a truly rejuvenating experience. The spa staff exhibited professionalism and skill, creating a tranquil atmosphere that allowed us to unwind and connect on a deeper level. However, my friend scored when she found the Stovall House. The entrance is not very well lit at night. We ended up guessing where to turn and where to park our car. The Stovall House entrance seemed a bit unintuitive as the cars are parked at what looks like entrance side of the building. Even though the kitchen was closed, we were still offered food by Lloyd's wife, who had greeted us when we entered. We were hungry so we asked for whatever they had left. She had us find our own seat at the tables on the porch, where we poured our own waters and waited for her to bring us two warmed up plates of chicken Alfredo. It was ok but it was just reheated pasta. The room situation was a bit disorganized, as the lock was missing the key. Lloyd persuaded us to leave the door unlocked throughout the day while we were out. However, because we had locked it improperly the night before, we locked ourselves out the next day. Lloyd was patient and helped us as best as he could to get into our room, with or without a key. The bedroom and bathroom are very quaint and comfortable. The bed was huge, which was really all we needed to make sure we got good shuteye. The next morning, we got to breakfast in time for brunch. Fresh strawberries and coffee were brought out to us while we waited for our breakfast. Lloyd brought me bacon, eggs and grits. My friend doesn't eat pork, so he brought her a vegetarian omelette. She found it delicious until, unfortunately, I think a bacon bit slipped into the veggie mix. He apologized profusely and brought her another, but it was a bit undercooked. Honestly, everyone here is SO nice and work hard to make sure your stay is relaxing and you feel at home. While there are definitely a few kinks to work out, the Stovall House could make it if they focus on the bigger picture, too.

The green beans with the country ham, turned out to be the star of my meal. Whatever you order, be sure to get the green beans for a side. I did round out dinner with a slice of authentic Georgia pecan pie complete with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I am a Georgia native, and this pie is as authentic as it gets. I can cook comparably for myself at home and I wouldn't give myself more than 3 stars either.

You could certainly go in, run around, look at the castle in 15 mins, but we wanted to understand the art, the reason behind the build and just learn a few things. Santa was there for pictures and it's neat that you can rent a room IN the castle. We weren't able to view those rooms but, I believe there are pictures online. Maybe we will come back and stay! You can't see the castle upon arrival, they take you in a bus up the hill so, I liked that it didn't ruin the surprise. They had little Tiaras for purchase and they give you a small prize when you complete the word puzzle they hand you. And event here would be cool. It would also be great if they had more drink or snacks for purchase but imagine that's in the works!! This was a costly project so, it will only get better!

Their location causes some logistical issues you don't have at most faires as there is no parking field. Most people have to park offsite and catch a free shuttle to the bottom of the mountain, then they drive you up to the castle. For those of us in full costume, the shuttle buses do add a level of complication we aren't used to but is definitely worth it If you like the Renaissance faire type events you need to go check this event out.

The owners here are lovely and very helpful! Sleeping accommodations: we stayed in the Blue Room and loved it because it has a private entrance, a fireplace, and a private bath. We could even bear the fun German music roll up the hill through our bedroom window, but it wasn't too noisy that we couldn't fall asleep! There's also parking on the premises. Breakfast accommodations: the owners made us an elaborate breakfast each morning, full of coffee, Orange juice, yogurt, eggs, toast, homemade quiche, and the best: their homemade applesauce -- which tasted like fall! Activities: we really enjoyed walking the town. There aren't many authentic German stores, mostly souvenirs shops, but there's a great Christmas store and Cuckoo clock store worth visiting. We were recommended Bodensee restaurant for authentic German food and we were not disappointed! It was delicious. The Troll Tavern is also really nice for a spot right on Chattahoochee River. The owners also recommended some hiking trails, so we did that one of the days and really enjoyed it. Habersham Winery is just down the road and also a great little spot to taste some wines and take a glass with you as you explore a trail behind their winery that takes you to a lovely overlook spot. And of course during October and September, going to the Festhalle for beers, German music, huge pretzels, and fun is a must! Apline B&B is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway and even to enjoy all the Oktoberfest festivities.

I had the confirmation which they sent me and they made a mistake on their end and double booked the room, so we were displaced from having a room for Christmas. We called around and found the Castle Inn and spoke with Debbie who had a room available and saved our Christmas from being ruined. She gave us a discount for having to be stressed out by the other business which was sweet of her. She made us feel welcome and we loved our stay at her place. We loved having the balcony overlooking Main Street and seeing all the beautiful lights. We had the best stay at the castle inn and will definitely be back. Thank you for your hospitality, Debbie. I recommend everyone to stay at the Castle Inn while in Helen, GA.
