My husband had scheduled a massage as a gift for that afternoon. This was probably the worst experience I have had. The therapist was poor in her execution, style and even manner. Before my treatment even started she mentioned an up charge for deep tissue. During my treatment she burped two times and her massage was far from relaxing her massage etiquette as a therapist was poor and as it was my birthday it sort of ruined my whole experience there, which was a shame. I did reach out to the B&B and provided my feedback, was told the spa manager (Tanya) would reach out but she never did. Heard back from the B&B manager and she told me the owner would give me a $50 dollar credit to my treatment the next time! We live almost two hours away so will not be planning on using that any time soon. To be honest after that experience I would not go back to the spa. The b&b was lovely the massage experience not so.

However, my friend scored when she found the Stovall House. The entrance is not very well lit at night. We ended up guessing where to turn and where to park our car. The Stovall House entrance seemed a bit unintuitive as the cars are parked at what looks like entrance side of the building. Even though the kitchen was closed, we were still offered food by Lloyd's wife, who had greeted us when we entered. We were hungry so we asked for whatever they had left. She had us find our own seat at the tables on the porch, where we poured our own waters and waited for her to bring us two warmed up plates of chicken Alfredo. It was ok but it was just reheated pasta. The room situation was a bit disorganized, as the lock was missing the key. Lloyd persuaded us to leave the door unlocked throughout the day while we were out. However, because we had locked it improperly the night before, we locked ourselves out the next day. Lloyd was patient and helped us as best as he could to get into our room, with or without a key. The bedroom and bathroom are very quaint and comfortable. The bed was huge, which was really all we needed to make sure we got good shuteye. The next morning, we got to breakfast in time for brunch. Fresh strawberries and coffee were brought out to us while we waited for our breakfast. Lloyd brought me bacon, eggs and grits. My friend doesn't eat pork, so he brought her a vegetarian omelette. She found it delicious until, unfortunately, I think a bacon bit slipped into the veggie mix. He apologized profusely and brought her another, but it was a bit undercooked. Honestly, everyone here is SO nice and work hard to make sure your stay is relaxing and you feel at home. While there are definitely a few kinks to work out, the Stovall House could make it if they focus on the bigger picture, too.

I did round out dinner with a slice of authentic Georgia pecan pie complete with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I am a Georgia native, and this pie is as authentic as it gets. I can cook comparably for myself at home and I wouldn't give myself more than 3 stars either.

All of the food and beverage vendors had really long lines, so we decided to hold off until we got back in town instead. I really enjoyed the variety of vendors selling their wares. There were so many handmade items and I found a lot to be very fairly priced. My favorite part was seeing the birds of prey in addition to just soaking in all the cool costumes people came up with. All in all, it was a fun experience but not something I'd want to do in summer when it's hot when there's so much walking involved.

Breakfast accommodations: the owners made us an elaborate breakfast each morning, full of coffee, Orange juice, yogurt, eggs, toast, homemade quiche, and the best: their homemade applesauce -- which tasted like fall! Activities: we really enjoyed walking the town. There aren't many authentic German stores, mostly souvenirs shops, but there's a great Christmas store and Cuckoo clock store worth visiting. We were recommended Bodensee restaurant for authentic German food and we were not disappointed! It was delicious. The Troll Tavern is also really nice for a spot right on Chattahoochee River. The owners also recommended some hiking trails, so we did that one of the days and really enjoyed it. Habersham Winery is just down the road and also a great little spot to taste some wines and take a glass with you as you explore a trail behind their winery that takes you to a lovely overlook spot. And of course during October and September, going to the Festhalle for beers, German music, huge pretzels, and fun is a must! Apline B&B is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway and even to enjoy all the Oktoberfest festivities.

We called around and found the Castle Inn and spoke with Debbie who had a room available and saved our Christmas from being ruined. She gave us a discount for having to be stressed out by the other business which was sweet of her. She made us feel welcome and we loved our stay at her place. When towels finally arrived there were only bath towels (no face towels or wash cloths), There were no comfortable chairs in the room, only two hard backless benches and small table. There was constant noise from open air bars/restaurants with live music and persistent loud motorcycle traffic. We initially prepaid for two nights, but checked out after only one night due to the intolerable conditions. They promised to "look into a refund" for the unused night, but have been totally unresponsive to phone calls and texts over several weeks. We finally filed a dispute with Mastercard to recoup the cost of the paid for, but unused, second night AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!

A Homewood suits is being built so maybe this location will have to invest some money afterall to compete
