The store manager here is the truth! I wish I could remember his name. Anyway, I visited this store about a month ago to get a new bong. My mans asked me how much I wanted to pay and I told him I only had $50 to spend. He then asked me which one was my favorite. I picked one out and he took it to the register and rang it up for $48. This little vape shop is tucked right around the hub of Center city nightlife. I've been visiting the bars and clubs around this shop but somehow never knew about this little hole in the wall. So while hard to find, once you walk in you're in a whole new world filled with anything you could ever want in a smoke/vape shop. Reading the reviews after have been here I realized that many people that were upset may have gotten confusing information from the staff but most, if not all vape/smoke shops, don't do refunds on any products. Also it should always be noted that you will never ever get the best price on mods, pods and other vape tech in a store as opposed to online. So if you're looking to Start vaping, definitely use the in store knowledge of the team to help figure out and narrow down what you want/like/need and then do some online research. Shops will almost always need to upcharge popular products since the small ticket items aren't going to keep them in business. Besides the nearly double priced pods/mods I was looking at, they have an amazing and large selection of their in-house ejuice/salt brand. My only complaint for someone unfamiliar with the brand are the names of the juices. Confusing af but as mentioned before, I asked for specific flavors or something close too and both times I've gone no matter the person, they knew a few options to get me around the flavor profile I wanted. I've always had trouble with finding juices I actually love and am happy with that aren't discontinued and I've already fallen in love with at least 2 I've gotten from there and the deals on buying multiple bottles is something that most stores don't do or do as well. A beautiful selection of glass, surrounds one half of the store and I have yet to allow myself the time to peruse fully. These won't be your wholesale prices but there may be some local artists pieces in the mix that are worth the cost. While hard to find, this location is my new go-to spot if I need to load up before or after work and a good knowledgeable staff that can help you narrow down what you're looking for no matter the category. 4/5 stars. One star dropped due to out of their hands but workable problems such as the price points of certain items and the staleness of the wraps that I may be the only buyer for. read more

Avoid. Staff was very helpful, and discussed a 30-day return policy, no questions asked. After I bought a $55 device, I looked it up online and found out it retailed everywhere else at $17.99. I then looked up other items I found there and saw that everything was at least double retail price. When I went back in to return my unopened merch, the staff nonchalantly informed me that they do not do returns except for manufacturer's defect, completely contradicting the lady's sales pitch. Also, that even then, they offer only store credit, contradicting the printed receipt. When I told them why I was there, they rolled their eyes. So yeah, garbage people. Holy Smokes never disappoints. They deliver the same quality of customer service and products each visit. The staff is professional and helpful. A question has never gone unanswered. Parking is always spacious and the staff is knowledgeable. I have only ran into 1 problem ever when shopping here and it was addressed super professionally. It's not even worth mentioning but it is just a testament of faith from their staff of how customer service oriented they are. Good selection, rude staff. Inconsistent carding. I've been going here for about a year. It really sucks because up until a few months ago this place was great. The staff was friendly and helpful and very chill. We never got hassled before. I don't smoke, but my boyfriend does, and I would always come in with him. Prior to recent months, it was never a problem as I wasn't the one purchasing any tobacco products. I would browse and look at the artsy bongs and let him do his thing until he paid and we left. I had never been asked to present ID, and never have been anywhere else where I wasn't the one purchasing product. The last three times entering Holy Smokes has left a really unpleasant taste akin to burnt grapleberry. The first time where the atmosphere changed was about 2 months ago. There was a new girl working there and when my bf went to check out, she turned and asked me for ID even though I wasn't buying. I asked if it was a new policy and she kind of floundered on the answer and I just chalked it up to her being new. A few weeks after, we go back, exact same routine, he picks out the juice he wants and I'm just looking at product. The guy at the cash register asks him for ID and not me. Makes sense right? Today we went in, there's a mix of staff. There's one guy who's pretty friendly and again boyfriend approaches the counter and asks for juice and cartridges and I do not. The woman next to him turns to me and asks for ID. I ask her straight out if they spot check IDs suddenly or what as now this has happened inconsistently with no rhyme or reason. I told her I'm not the one buying, like seriously, go buy cigarettes at any other place and no ones asking for ID except from the person who is actually purchasing. She doesn't care, gives me a sour reply, I give her my id to just get it over with so he can buy his stuff and I can just leave already. She hands it back and proceeds to just stare at me as I'm just standing there to the side while he's browsing. It's extremely uncomfortable and borderline creepy. Clearly she was pissed that I brought up the question of the inconsistent checks and now was going to glare at me for the next 10 minutes until her coworker rung up bfs stuff. As we're heading out she says something to the guy who was next to her and laughs and then turns back to look at me. Look, people are going to ask you why you card inconsistently when you never have before, and ESPECIALLY when they're not the ones purchasing tobacco products. Do you card people's kids too? Maybe you should put up a no kids sign? Or I don't know, card the actual person buying tobacco product and not be shitty to a patron of your store for asking why your policy practices are so irregular. Either card everyone or don't but don't be an asshole when they ask you why. Edit: Forgot to add- she said the reason they don't always card is "depends on who the manager is". Concerning? I came in for a simple vape last Friday and was very satisfied but when I got back home I noticed it was ok leaking. On my way to work Tuesday I decided to drop it off and see what could be done, the sat and had to watch a video, and then gave me back the same vape and now the leak is worst then it was in the beginning. I spent 90.00 for a vape that does not work and the employees need to be trained. I feel that this place should be shutdown after being told the night before that if I had my receipt and original packaging they would replace it. Stopped in today to ask about kratom and they had a great selection. Very nice shop, professional and knowledgeable staff. Pricing on some things was a bit high, but it's also a nicer shop in Center City, so that should be understood before walking in. That said, I found the kratum and CBD products to be pretty fairly priced compared to other brick and mortar stores. Their pipes and batteries were definitely more expensive than other places in town, but not so much so that I wouldn't buy from there since it is a nice store with a great staff. read more

Do not come here. Before I explain, let me say this: this store may take consumer fraud lightly but I do not. I've filed a complaint with the better business bureau regarding this place and I've just set up a meeting with my consumer rights lawyer regarding their scam. They sell you faulty devices that have been altered in store. Then when it breaks, they have the audacity to claim that it was altered by the customer, not business. I bought two 100 dollar devices and they broke in less than 3 weeks. When I tried to contact them, they refused to take my information down and they refused to follow up. I followed up in person (employee was so rude, condescending and did not want to take my info down.) So I called them repeatedly to try and talk to someone. I had to call their branch office just to talk to someone. The thing is, I did not alter the devices and it was returned to them as It was given to me. But this is the scam: you loose money, they gain it. #warranty. But I hate being cheated out of my hard earned money and I won't stop trying to resolve this. This company needs to take accountability for their products and they need to train their employees to be competent. Update: I asked them to return those devices that they claimed they will check on after my complaints but it was never returned to me. They told me they would mail it but I never received it. Not the typical mom and pop vape shop, they have been expanding over the years, becoming more and more widely know and recognized for their quality of vape equipment and customer service. I've been a customer for a very long time. Whenever I'm in Philly, I always stop by Holy Smokes to pick up a few of my favorites. I know the owner personally at this point and the employees. I converse with them for at least 15 minutes after making my purchase just because they're approachable and easy to talk to. The bill, which totalled under 300.00, has not been paid. Multiple attempts were made to collect. Frank Datillo doesn't pay his debts, or have the decency to respond. As far as I know there aren't a ton of places in center city/Rittenhouse area that has CBD products and this place sure takes advantage of that...it is WAAAAAY overpriced for the products they have. I've been coming to this place for a little over a year now. I've got to say its on a very short list of stores I actually get excited to go to. It doesn't matter the location, everyone there is not just super friendly but also extremely knowledgeable about everything they are selling. On numerous occasions the owner of the store went out or his way to help me, making sure he wasn't selling me anything he himself wouldn't use. I can't speak to their other products but they mark up their kratom by 1000%. Kratom sold on multiple sites (search the kratom subreddit for specific sources) is about 10 cents per gram. Holy Smokes sells at about 1$ per gram. Also, when I (very politely) informed the salesperson behind the counter about this discrepancy, she just rolled her eyes and walked away. That shows how much they care about their customers. In other words...Don't but your Kratom here!! It's a HUGE ripoff. I assure you their quality was no better than the kratom I got online. This place is a scam, they take you through loops of different POS Systems to ring you up and end up making you use one that goes through as a credit card withdrawal. I paid a 2.99 fee just for using it which makes no sense I'm buying a product from them why is there any fee. She couldn't split payment cash and card. We went to use a 10$ off birthday coupon and ended up paying 20$ more than we were told. The girl confused me enough to where I just said ok to whatever and left.
