We spend a lot of time here paddle boarding and walking the trail. Great way to spend your day outside. Bathrooms are usually clean enough and I hardly ever see trash lying around. A lot of ducks and wild life in general.

We frequently walk here. Also, a great place to enjoy a sunset You can easily access it from Folsom or park in the lot ($10 fee) It can get crowded but not always!

Black miners bar is a great experience I went a little further than I did previously on my walk. I didn't notice much of a hike in the area but you can definitely walk for miles on end. If anybody knows where I can actually find some elevation let me know. I got a free state park pass from the library, typically you pay the state park fee to enter this park. It's basically located Folsom Citrus Heights border. They also have a lake where you can get in paddle board fish, there is a horse stable not too far away I've seen horses come through there. Also the big talk when I was walking was the fact that they had an Eagles Nest somewhere close by, and you could see the eagle it's if you accessed it from a specific trail. I saw the nest but I didn't see any Eagles. This is a great Park to venture, I highly suggest researching the history of the park. It was great history of a black miners.

I went here on a Sunday afternoon for a picnic. It cost $10 to park, and there were a few different parking areas. The far parking lot is where people take their paddle boards. The close parking lot is the one by the beach. There are bathrooms down by the beach and one by the parking lot. The only reason I'm deducting a star is because the bathroom didn't have toilet paper or paper towels or soap. This beach is dog friendly, but there are some things you should be aware of. There are geese (and therefore goose poop) everywhere. So, if your dog is gross like mine, they might try to roll in goose poop. Other triggers for reactive dogs are that up by the parking area, there are a S**TTON of squirrels and they are so very brave. One ran under our picnic table while my dog was sitting on the table. Not okay. And lastly, there was an off leash dog there, which is a trigger for my dog. I really liked how all the picnic tables had shade over them.

We absolutely love this place. We come here several times a month. Beautiful beach, and AMAZING kayaking. Definitely recommend coming here

Parking is $10. Great place to paddle board and watch the sunset. The paddle board community is very respectful and friendly.

Friendly staff and clean bathrooms. Lifeguard on duties was comforting. Kayaks, canoe and paddle board for rent was a plus. We felt safe bringing kids under 10 during our mini getaway from the summer heat. This place will be our favorite annual spot for summer from now on.

Great Juneteenth celebration lots of reunions, paddling out to the little island with the geese and swans and limestone wall--103 degrees, a summer feeling.

I'm loving this location for the summer fun. I can't believe 30 years of living I just now found out about it. My family and friends usually go to nimbus lake or Folsom lake but this location is perfect and it's right in the middle of them. There are boulder areas right under the Folsom Blvd bridge I believe the name is rainbow bridge. You can lounge or jump off of them. When the sun is high and bright you can see clearly through the water to the floor bed. I recently purchased a SUP so I am going to start to take it out more often. This location have plenty of fire grills, benches, there's a kayak rental, and best of all a few gazebos to help give you some shade. Plenty of parking as well. I'm definitely coming back soon (:

Parking: $10 if you don't rent their equipment, with plenty of spaces in the complex. Otherwise, you can park for "free" at the State Park area if you have the Golden Poppy Annual Pass ($125). The park also has plenty of picnic tables and a small beach area for sunbathing. Restrooms: Women's (5 stalls), Men's (5 stalls), plus 2 unisex restrooms. There are plenty of rental options, including single/tandem kayaks, SUP boards, and canoes. If you are in a group, all renters must sign in at the same time because the rental period starts once you sign in. They also have CREW and CANOE clubs! All rentals must be returned by 8 PM or you may be fined. No cycling or weight training on the premises, but there is a basketball court on the side. All life jackets, equipment, and docks were clean and in good condition. The payment line moves quickly. If possible, print the waiver at home to save time. You also need to create an account on their website before they can place your order; otherwise, you'll need to create one on the spot when purchasing tickets. After purchasing, you leave your driver's license and car key with them. There is a 15-minute courtesy buffer deducted from your total rental time for walking to the dock, restroom breaks, setup, etc. Service: friendly and efficient. If you change your mind: for example, from a SUP board to a kayak: they simply call the front desk and let you switch at the dock. Lake Natoma is perfect for kayaking or paddleboarding because it starts wide and gradually narrows. The current is almost nonexistent until around 4 PM. It's about 2 miles to the small island near Willow Creek Recreation Area, which makes a perfect scenic picnic spot.

This was my first time going both whitewater rafting and camping, and the entire time I felt taken care of, safe, and catered to in ways I hadn't even expected. I don't know how many times I shouted "Team Audrey!" as she expertly navigated difficult rapids. Roman was the guide responsible for riding ahead of us with all our cargo and setting up camp, and every time I was more and more impressed with the breathtaking set up he did with all of our tents, eating areas, and shaded spots. Dustin was a worthy team leader who made sure our trip went smoothly and on time, and was awesome to talk to and joke around with. And McClure was a thorough teacher and guide who is clearly passionate about what he does! I've noticed some reviews of people complaining about things out of Tributary's control like the bathroom quality or the heat or the other parties that would camp nearby. And even though that is technically not Tributary's juriscdiction, I still felt as if the four guides with us did everything they could to anticipate these problems and lessen their impact on our trip. Like they had a handwashing station for us, and had plenty of shaded areas for us to rest in. Not to mention they really took care of the quality of food we ate, giving gluten free and healthy options as well as snacks and drinks for us. Audrey, Dustin, Roman, and Mcclure. The last time we rafted Middle Fork American was on a cold, gloomy, drizzling day in October 2019 - so we had to give it another go in warmer weather. This time around was just as memorable. Two of us in the boat ended up falling out in the water at Tunnel Chute, which happened so fast that I barely knew what had happened - thankfully, there was a nice calmer stretch of water right after through the river tunnel, so we were easily able to get back into the raft. (Thank you to our guide, Troy, for hauling me back in, and for being an awesome guide in general!) Plus this was one of the photographer spots, so the action was all captured for us to laugh about later. Later, after our tasty sandwich picnic lunch, we had a few unexpected events happen, starting from the portage down Ruck-a-Chucky Falls. Shout-out to all three guides in our group - Troy, Shea, and AJ - for handling things so calmly and getting us all back where we were supposed to be! We had plenty of calm stretches floating down the river as well. The canyon is beautiful and quite peaceful. We saw a ton of dragonflies flying above our heads, masked ducks chilling on rocks and diving underwater, and wild grapes and blackberries growing alongside the river. The group we rafted with was cohesive and kind, and the guides were patient, but challenging. We had the opportunity to be part of a rowing school and to understand the "science" of rafting. Examples of instruction were navigating into an eddy, ferrying across a current to the other side of the river, tying off a boat, setting up angles, and reading currents were just a few skills that were taught. Sierra Mac and our group was welcoming, eager to teach, and patient all the while giving appropriate feedback. The instruction truly was "hands on" as we got the opportunity to take a turn at rowing to learn the basic mechanics of boat rowing. While we expected to be in tents, we actually slept without them, and this ended up being a cool experience for us and pushed my teenagers to realize it can be done! We tried things like having someone sit at the very front, intentionally bumping into a rock to see what would happen, and taking the harder routes with stronger rapids. At the end of the trip, we were shuttled back to the parking lot, which made everything easy. They also had hot running showers available to rinse off and clean up before heading home, which was very appreciated.
