This place is great and simple fun for kids. I have children ages 11, 6, and 2 years old and they loved coming here. It is very rocky but we brought a big mat, folding chairs, and canopy. We also brought a speaker for music. A nice place to relax and kids loved getting outdoors especially during COVID there's lots of space for social distancing. By the parking lot there's a big flat grass area to have a picnic, a party, and or play sports. A great place for biking nice trails. I recommend

I fell in love with this place from the very first time I was brought here(: I absolutely love this park; there is so much to do! There's a giant lawn area for picnics and gatherings, there's separate a hiking and bike trail and it has a section connected to the American river I came in the springtime; everything was so green and beautiful

Yay for White Water Rafting & River Bend Park to End the Day of Fun! SITREP Last Saturday, our buddy Minh planned a day of white water rafting. This was the meet-up location and the planned post-rafting BBQ site. It was a $5 charge to get into the park which was a small price to pay for being here. SETUP Everyone was driven further up the American River around Nimbus Dam to be released on the rafts and inner-tubes. I stayed with Minh at River Bend Park to prepare for the BBQ. We got a grill site location with picnic tables and began the set-up on the tables with the sides. POST-RAFT BBQ Got some great pics of the raft-arrivals from the river and they had a good time. After raft-deflation, we packed up the rafting gear and focused on the BBQ. With music, food and drinks, we had a great time. THE LOWDOWN River Bend Park is an awesome location to enjoy the outdoors, either as a picnic by itself, or as the close to a wonderful time of rafting.

Big nice area. Just be careful the pebbles everywhere on the river. Trails are nice for a long or short walk.

I honestly have nothing negative to say about this park. Adequate parking, beautiful trees, the bike trail, a wormhole (walking bridge) into an infinitely nicer area of sacramento. Riverbend park also provides great people watching in the summer during rafting season.

Ask the Community - River Bend Park

How much is the parking fee?

Self paid at the entrance. Card is expected. It was $5 the last time I went. It might be higher for the summer.

Will lyft vehicles be allowed in without having to pay, if they are there to pick up people?

I see people parking without parking slip on their window got a ticket. As long as they're not parking there a long period, I think it should be fine.

How is parking?

There is tons of parking, 2 smaller lots and 1 larger one.

Hello my name is Jada and I was wondering if I have a group of friends come can we have a bonfire here? And do you guys offer bonfire pits?

No bonfires allowed

Not sure. Can fish there! Playground: With climate change, unpredictable weather, and summers with many days over 100F, would be nice if all parks in the sac area provided shade. This one has shade only over a small set of swings by a picnic area/ by the trains & barn. The main playground had shade near it but no shade over the play structures. Kids going down the slides could get burned- recommend putting up shade to avoid future liability issues. Overall a beautiful park w a good amt of shade, multiple parking lots and multiple picnic areas. Too far for us to come regularly but likely coming back for the train ride during holidays when I think they usually have a Santa there. (You need advance tix for this)

A few chairs are available for owners, plus a little swimming pool filled with water for the dogs. The grass and shade trees make it extra inviting. It's clear this park is very well cared for.

With…read morethe hot weather and a capacity of 90 we didn't want to take any chances of not getting in after a 30 minute drive from across town. I haven't been to this area In years and it looks about the same. Kind of run down as you enter the neighborhood and I probably wouldn't walk these streets alone at night but luckily I'd have no business being here except during a hot summer day at this little water park. We were the second group admitted and it costs $1 for whom ever wants to play. They have 2 slides and riders must meet height requirements. Our 3.5 year old was 42 inches so he got an orange wristband and could only ride the orange slide. The yellow slide had a height requirement of 45 or 46 I believe. Despite the height requirements, our son only went down the orange slide 2-3 times. The park was very crowded with people trying to stay cool. Our son cried when he got water in his face .. guess he won't enjoy water parks much till he realizes water in the face is part of the experience lol!! At one point he said "there's too many people here" and I couldn't have agreed more. There's a small grass area and a couple picnic tables with shade but other than That, not much seating or shade Not sure if we'd return but it was a well kept water park with decent bathrooms

So it sounds like this park has come a long way. The morning I was here there were a few people walking around the park for exercise. Plenty of parking and it looks like a safe neighborhood.

Our visit was in July 2025 to this cute Fair Oaks park within a small neighborhood. The park has a…read moresmall splash pad, and two playgrounds one for younger and older children. My granddaughter who is 8, loved the splash pad & the younger kids playground. The park is not gated and is adjacent to a walking path. Be careful if you have a little runner. The splash pad has a high water bucket dumping water in different directions. There was only one working water spout for the little kids when we came and the frog sprays water but you have to click the yellow button on the blue pole to make it work once it turns off. The older kids playground she loved the round rope swings but did get rope scrapes on back of both legs from swinging on them so be careful. Next time will use a towel under her legs. The big net play structure is fun if you want to just climb around but to get to the slides there is a big gap between the net structures that you have to go past in order to work your way across the rope bridge then to the slide. She was disappointed she couldn't get over to slides as a big gap she couldn't reach other side safely. Really wish there were rope stairs going straight up to slide area so kids can play on slide that can't do rope structure. The younger kids playground was nice. Multiple climbing structures that included a slide, rope hammock, a turning swing type activity. Parking is along the street only. Park has Drinking fountains and clean bathrooms. There are two picnic table areas. One down by the playgrounds and another by the splash pad.

Great Kayaking scene!…read more Location: near the Sac State Aquatic center and right at the Dam is Nimbus Flat! Lake Natoma has a lot of different areas to jump off from but I think this one is the most popular. The spot is great for bringing family as there is a lot of open beach and lots of clear water to hang out with family on. Across from the flats is a nice rocky shore, shallow water and turtle alley. Activities: Located right next to Sac State Aquatics and just off Hazel, this place can be VERY busy. Quite often if you are coming here later in the summer the lot is full. I highly recommend coming early. There isn't a rental place right off the beach like Black Miners bar but I think this is due to the aquatic center where you can rent quite a bit of equipment. They are actually a separate parking lot from the Nimbus Flat parking Lot. The area also connects to the trails that run along the entire lake and connects to the overall American River Bike Trail. This makes it even more popular. There is a nice boat landing (non motorized boats) and restrooms as well as some picnic tables and good tree cover on site. The only issue is that beach quality can be so-so but great for water sports and not having to deal with motorized boats like Folsom Lake. It's such a great gem to have a space like this. Folsom Lake and Natoma are both great depending on what kind of vibe you are looking on the water
