Service was friendly and fast, coffee was off the charts good! I had my normal hot almond milk decaf latte. The flavor was so unique! Almost had a slight licorice / anice flavor. I don't know how else to describe it. But seriously the best latte I've ever had, and if you read my reviews, you know I'm no novice! Also had a yummy potato, cheese, and egg burrito. Would have loved some salsa or guac with it, but it was quite tasty on its own. Look forward to going back next time I'm in Healdsburg! read more

Located near the square, Black Oak is quite popular in the morning. A line isn't an unfamiliar sight. If you can find a table, you should be able to order via QR code. So efficient! They've got some great combos of teas, coffee, desserts, breakfast sandwiches and more. We enjoyed our cute matcha lattes with the foam leaves. That breakfast burrito with the bacon, egg, and potato was inhaled- so delicious with that side of green sauce. Such a pleasant coffee breakfast spot to dine in. I definitely want to return when spending another morning in Healdsburg. read more

Great coffee and pastries but non-responsive management and even worse wifi. The WiFi has seldom worked (5%?) since they opened several years ago. We've asked front staff about this and they are generally clueless and unable to forward questions to management. Or maybe management hears but doesn't care? Sent an email to Black Oak's customer support last week and 7 days later, still no reply. Cellular is sketchy throughout Healdsburg.so WiFi is helpful to use Black Oak's online site to order. Often see locals and visitors confused about their site not loading with WiFi supposedly connected. Poor customer experience. Either shutoff the WiFi or simply fix by buying a better WiFi router read more

Was recommended to try their lavender latte, a flavor I usually avoid as it can easily end up tasting too soapy, but Black Oak did not disappoint! Very cool spot! Came in on a rainy morning and found a table by the window to read our books. They have QR codes that let you order from your table, but even ordering from the line is fairly quick. The bagel and dill cream cheese and jam biscuit were really good, and the breakfast burrito was pretty big. We had the peanut butter mocha, the Dulce de leche latte and the seasonal lavender haze latte - all three were super tasty without being too intensely sweet. read more

Black Oak Coffee Roasters is a popular and busy shop located in Downtown. Nice place with a lot of tables and seats to relax and chill. The staff is friendly and nice. I tried their signature mocha. Peanut Butter: dark chocolate, peanut butter, and a touch of sea salt (3/5). I am glad I tried one of their specialty drinks though I thought it was ok. You could taste the dark chocolate and peanut butter which I love but this drink was ok. Be warned, it has 4 expresso shots. I was also eyeing their seasonal Raspberry Mocha. Next time. My wife got a regular Mocha (4/5) which she thought was very good. Support your local business. read more

We had such a great experience here! The coffee was absolutely delicious - we ordered the caramel lattes and they were perfectly balanced, not overly sweet and super smooth. The food was just as impressive. The overnight oats were fresh and flavorful, the quiche was incredible (rich, savory, and perfectly baked), and the ham and cheese danish was flaky and delicious. Everything felt thoughtfully made, and the overall vibe was cozy and inviting. Definitely a spot we'd come back to when in Healdsburg! read more

Haven't tried a coffee shop outside of SF in a while! I love the space, if you're wanting to work this is a good spot if you're visiting/living in the area. Not too crowded/noisy. I tried the lemon meringue latte and was a bit skeptical but the flavor works really well with the espresso. My boyfriend had the matcha dream and he said he liked it. My favorite coffee shop ever!!! Their drinks are insanely good, and their Duomo coffee beans are the only beans I'll buy now. I'm not kidding, I even have an online subscription because I can't live without them. Whenever I'm back home in Sonoma County, I always plan a Healdsburg day just so I can stop by here. The line was out the door today but it moved very quickly. I got the tiramisu latte and it was amazing! It was delicious without being too sweet, surprisingly. And it even came with a ladyfinger on top! I 100% recommend stopping by Black Oak! read more

Amazing coffees! Especially if you want a specialty type drink. Recently, we tried the sticky toffee pudding latte and black sesame flat white. The latte was delicious! It tasted like a dessert but I could still taste the coffee. You could taste the sesame in the flat white but it didn't overpower the coffee. I feel like there is always a long line, but it goes fast. If you don't want to wait I recommend ordering ahead. read more

Went here for the first time on our way out of town on my last trip to Healdsburg and loved it! The service was quick and the drinks are fantastic! I spotted Black Oak while wandering in the plaza, and went the next morning. I had heard good things about Black Oak's other location from a friend, and I'm glad I went to this spot! There was a crowd, but the line moved very fast with the place well staffed and a combination of counter and QR codes to place your order. Staff were especially energetic and friendly despite the morning crowd. Interior has warm wood decor and is well lit. Most of the space is for standing around the order counter but there are some tables inside, along with the plaza outside, as well as the alleyway seating, for plenty of spots to enjoy your coffee at. There's some bicycle stands outside on the sidewalk too. Coffee itself was great. My partner and I both got lattes and we really enjoyed them. I got the chai latte: perfectly balanced with warm, aromatic spices and just the right amount of creamy sweetness. My partner got the lavender latte and she loved it. Notes of lavender and not overly sweet. read more

Black Oak is one of my favorite Sonoma County coffee shops. I have been up to their original location in Ukiah, but I'm very glad they have one in Healdsburg! I had a friend who was visiting from the East Coast try all my favorite local coffee shops. He is basically the most picky person I know when it comes to coffee. He said that Black Oak's light roast Geisha pour over was the best he had not just in Sonoma County, but possibly anywhere. I would also agree that their roasts are particularly good all around. I actually love their Duomo brew, it's one of my favorite roasts to do at home. They have a nice, seasonal menu during the year. Their Pumpkin Spice latte is fantastic! The service here is always very friendly and helpful. I love how open the coffee shop is and it is always packed with locals and tourists. It is well lit and the tables are comfortable. My only complaint is they only have one bathroom. Love this place! Come check them out! read more

Had a wonderful cup of coffee in the beautiful little town of Healdsburg. This is such a charming area of town. It reminds me of a small little ski village. Stopped by here on a Friday morning and had a delicious Lovers Lane latte!! The bee pollen added a very yummy touch. I would definitely get again. Giving it 4 stars instead of 5 as we had to sit outside, even though it was a bit chilly out, because there isn't tons of indoor seating. Since it was a weekday, there were a LOT of people working in there and I don't think there's enough seating to allow people to work all day in there. read more

This place has AMAZING coffee. I got a soy latte and the quality of the coffee is really robust but not too bitter. We ended up buying the Redd roast and they grind it for us. The ambiance is super cute- very modern, beige white and lots of seating available inside. I did not see the outdoor patio but they have one if you want to sit outside! read more

The music is great and light, the place is clean and bright and the people are so nice!! I got the lovers lane latte which has been pollen and it's sooo good!! Love the overall space! It's pretty spacious with a decent amount of seating. Perfect for dates, studying, and really just coffee. The line was long but the staff kept things going. We ordered their lover's lane latte and horchata latte. The horchata latte was frankly a bit too sweet - it really overpowered the other flavors. However, the matcha and coffee on my first visit here just weren't that good. The matcha was watered down and the cappuccino tasted burnt. fantastic coffee shop in healdsburg plaza. Came here all three days we were here and tried something different each time, they were all great. Love me the matcha and the special matcha for valentines. The place is spacious, though its extremely popular it was hard to get a table. The pastries and food looked delicious, especially the ham and cheddar sandwich on sourdough. OH MY! The staff is friendly and look like they enjoy what they are doing. I've heard really good things about Black Oak so I made sure to stop by while in town! I got the Pandan latte which i really enjoyed. I also tried their saffron cortado which was a unique twist on a cortado, I do wish i could've tasted the saffron a little bit more though. Came back and tried the Finca Buenos Aires Sidra. Coincidentally, I did this before Dean the business owner commented on my previous review. This pourover was a knockout. It tasted like a nectarine was liquified into my cup. Every sip was so tasty and the smell on the nose was so good I made everyone I was with indulge me and take a big whiff of it. In my opinion, this is the better of the two offerings currently on the menu. Can't go wrong with either, but this stone-fruit flavor with medium-bright acidity and overall, nice balance on the finish (with good body) is more rare than the berry fruits you get with the Gesha currently available as pourover. This Finca Buenos Aires Sidra was the best coffee I tried on my trip (Tried pourover from Voyager coffee, retrograde, coffee and water lab, Ritual). read more

While on vacation in healdsburg I searched for the best coffee shop and I feel like I struck gold with this spot! Im actually bummed that they aren't near me so they could be my local place. The ambiance was pleasant and not too crowded. I got their pumpkin spice latte and the flavor was well balanced, more pumpkin thank spice and the consistency of the frothed milk was perfection! After wine tasting and lunch, we ended up going to this coffee shop. The house was super generous and took the time and explaining different types of coffee.. This is my favorite coffee shop in Healdsburg. Every time I'm in town I stop by for a cup of Joe. They are located in downtown Healdsburg right off the main plaza. The space is warm and inviting with plenty of seating inside. I love their stylish decor. They have a big coffee menu and plenty of pastries if you're hungry. It's always fun to try their specialty drink menu. I also like to order a regular latte. The coffee art is fun. Their bags of coffee are great for gifts. read more

The lady working there told us that we could smell the teas as there were little jars above each package of tea. She explained how the teas were organized by herbal, black, green, and a few white teas. The loose teas are already packaged and ready for purchase. They come in 50 gram size (little less than 2 ounces). The majority were blends with the ingredients and price listed on the front of each package. They sell individual tea samplers too if you want to just try a cup. They offer a really nice variety. There are lots of cute gift items and chocolates too. While we were there, several groups of people came in to buy and quickly left. They must know which flavors they like. A darling place to visit with friends and family.
