I've been to the food truck a couple of times and I am OBSESSED with the sweet ole bay wings. The food truck has an extensive menu, so I guarantee you will find something you like! I also had the pleasure of using the catering services and everything turned out phenomenal. We had pasta salad (A HIT!!), jerk chicken gyros, salmon sliders, fruit cups, and Caesar salad cups. Everything was great and they will really work with you to create a meal that will complete your event. Highly recommend!!

The salmon atop her salad, if I had to be more specific. This food truck, Grater Cater, currently appearing at the College Park, Maryland Farmers Market on Saturdays from 8:00-1:00 in season, features the best seasoned and slightly charred salmon I have ever tasted in a restaurant or elsewhere. I hope to enjoy it as often as possible, every Saturday, while I can, begging like Scooby Doo and Shaggy for Scooby Snacks if I have to!

They're usually closed the days that I'm in the Upper Marlboro area, but not this time! It's in the same Plaza as the Amish market, so there's plenty of parking. I stepped inside and there were a couple of chairs for waiting along the window. Otherwise, it's a small open space and there are desserts on display, I'm in you to read, and very polite staff behind the counter. I decided to get the blackened salmon and shrimp entree with collard greens and mac and cheese. I got their salts at caramel banana pudding for dessert. I decided to use my insulated bag and wait until I got to my friend's house to eat. I love the shrimp and the salmon. They were seasoned well, but not to a point of tasting too salty, which can happen at a lot of soul food restaurants for me. Unfortunately, despite the good flavor, this was the case with the collard greens, whew. Also, there is turkey in there, so don't get it as a vegetarian option! The mac and cheese was good... Not sure where I would put it in my rankings, but I enjoyed it. That banana pudding.... Whoa. It was the perfect dessert, and I would happily get it again. The salted caramel and banana balance surprisingly well. Their top rankings are well deserved, and I am looking forward to trying their wings and other items next time!

Oh & my hush puppies were ok...& that caramel banana pudding was tooooo freaking sweet for me... I was disappointed... was rooting for this spot! I remember when the owners were first beginning... not too many good local soul food spots that have good potato around here... & the customer service needs help! Happy Yelping!

The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of flavorful options that truly pleased the crowd. The presentation and overall setup were beautiful and added an elegant touch to the event. Chef Darryl was professional, organized, and a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. The pricing was very reasonable, and he even offered a wonderful tasting prior to signing the contract, which gave us great confidence in our decision. I highly recommend A Family Affair Catering for any special occasion.

To consider this a legitimate "business" is laughable, just like their food. Arrived over an hour…read morelate to an event and instead of being apologetic, had an attitude. Dinner was for 25 + people and there was barely enough food for 12. Not that this mattered, as EVERYTHING was inedible and there were no plates, cutlery or napkins provided. I take that back, the store brought $2.00 (price still on) cornbread and $16.00 cake were the ONLY items edible. The Mac and Cheese was dry and bland. I will give them credit for it being both overcooked and undercooked all in the same batch. I'm still trying to make sense of that! The only adjective that even remotely describes this Mac and Cheese is "disrespectful". Like, seriously, the disrespect was 10/10. The chicken was undercooked and bland. How do you make jerk chicken bland and soggy? I'm actually curious. The "blackened" salmon was overcooked yet not blackened, creating another "make it make sense" moment. I immediately spat out the greens. They were undercooked, not under-seasoned but literally "not seasoned". Wait, I take that back too, if you count the dirt and grit as seasoning. They should be ashamed of themselves for ripping people off. Pictures don't lie. The fact that they were sent pictures and still stood behind their product tells you all you need to know. Please, please, PLEASE do not let these people ruin your event and more importantly your special moments and memories. There are so many other respectable and legitimate Black-owned catering companies i.e. Ohhs and Ahhs, Henry's, Hitching Post.
