Love this place whenever I need a dose of nature. There are plenty of picnic tables, and I usually come here to eat with my family. The walking trails are great and have beautiful views of the water. If you are lucky, you might even see wildlife like manatees or alligators. Some super long trails to walk or bike on here. The bay is beautiful & there are places to sit and watch boats go by all day. You can walk all the way out to where you eventually reach the ocean in one trail. Lots of wildlife and beauty here. Solid spot for drinks and food here as well. Very nice boat ramp... several piers with well-designed recycled plastic rub rails and pilings that are gentle on your boat. The ramps are well used so relatively clean, but still watch out for algae/slime if you need to wade in a bit. Plenty of parking, and a lot/driveway designed to funnel traffic one way in an attempt to limit congestion and conflict. (Although you can count on some pushy people to come in the wrong way to jump line as they mutter "me, me, me, me".) one of these came and cut me off as I was lining up to pull the boat out; I and two others had to sit in an awkward position to wait while they pushed in and selfishly took their time. The ramp fee was under $20, and used pay-by-phone. We were there on a Wednesday. I imagine it's total mayhem on the weekend! This is a great location from which to access Biscayne Bay and Card Sound. read more

Ok to start we r new in town and this was my first restaurant to go to. With that being said, i love everything about this place. It is a pretty large area, large bar, large bar table seating area, large area outside the bar. If sports r on, and when aren't they, they r playing on the large screen tvs. These giant fans are mounted in the corners and oscillate back and forth rhythmically and make even hot humid nights bearable. If you're mosquito sensitive like some people (sigh, eye roll ) then spray up. The drinks are cheap, the food is great, the service is even better! The menu has a steady portion that u can count on and a "specials" section that is always changing. They have drink specials and happy hour , even a view. Y would u NOT try it? With my girlfriend living in Cutler Bay, I've gone here quite a bit just to sightsee and walk around for some exercise. They have really nice paths for walking/biking leading all the way out to a nice little point at the end overlooking the bay. I haven't yet used the marina itself to launch my boat, but being a new boat owner, plan to go back soon to do just that. Last time we went a week ago, I saw around an 8 foot crocodile which I don't think is the resident one they call Fred, as he looks much larger, but was still really cool to see. read more

I went on a Tuesday afternoon with my daughter to walk around Black Point Marina Park. I have been in that place many years ago but I didn't know it has more than a restaurant and the actual marina. It turns out that he has a large walkway that you can use for either walk, run, or bike. I parked in one of the many places they have available for free to do so, then I walked around and enjoy the gorgeous view, and took some nice pictures of this place. read more

This review is only about the launch ramp and temporary docks, we did not get a slip. The ramps are decent and the temp docks are in very good shape. For a large boat and trailer the driving can be a little tight but it is all workable. There is plenty of parking room and the parking prices are reasonable. read more

I came here with my dad to try to do some fishing off the shore because we dont own a boat. There are only 2-3 wooden piers in the park area where visitors can fish from the shore from a pier and those spots are usually taken really quickly so you have to get there really early in the morning because their in the beginning of the park trail. The fish under the wooden piers in the beginning of the trail are really small fish (throw back fish too small to eat) and since boats frequently pass by at high speeds from the nearby marina to go out into the ocean it spooks the fish in the water and you can see chemicals in the water from the boats so I dont really think you would want to eat the fish you catch near the shore from one of those wooden piers because it probably isnt healthy eating fish with boat chemicals in the water. Once you go deeper into the trail there are more fishing spots but without wooden piers so you will have to fish from the rocks on the shore, the spots where you fish from the rocks on the shore have lots of seaweed that tangles your fishing line and you still have the problem of boats passing by to exit the marina which spooks the fish. Once you get to the end of the trail there is a dead end that leads to the ocean with lots of people fishing from the shore in the end and a small island that you can walk across on foot that usually has people trying to take a bath in the water while people are fishing nearby. If your coming here thinking about fishing from the shore I would avoid this place, there are too many people with very limited fishing spots and boats passing by that leave boat chemicals in the water. What I would recommend if you want to do some fishing in this place is that you bring either a canoe or a kayak and try to fish away from the shore and boats, the left side of the trail is more calm and the boats leaving the marina dont go in that part of the park. The only downside is carrying a canoe or kayak up the trail until you can pitch it into the water from the left side of the trail. read more

I like this place for the simple fact that it feels like you're in the keys, but you don't have to drive so far. The view is beautiful... and if you can manage to grab a table by the water, you're set! You can never beat the drinks and their prices. They're made just right, with a good amount of liquor! The seafood is always fresh & always ask for recommendations... the waiters have great suggestions, and I always manage to try something new when I do. This time around we kind of went tapas style and shared a bunch of random plates. Dolphin fingers were so fresh, and you can never go wrong. We also had the fish tacos with a side of spinach soufflé and fries. The fries were SO perfectly crunchy, not everybody can do this. Been coming here for many years and it has always been a great place for different activities. Of course you have the marina where on Sundays alot of locals like to pull out there chairs and cold drinks to watch the boaters come back in. I've seen alot of funny things happen. There's also the dock where people of course dock their boats ( you can only get in if you have a key though). You can go fishing on the other side where if you walk down you'll actually walk into the water. There's also a cabana you can rent out for parties or bbq's etc. There's alot of space to just have a picnic, watch the wildlife in and out of the water (there are warning signs all over for crocodiles). You can also ride your bike here or bring a ball with you and play some soccer or football. This place is perfect for family,friends, or even to just come by yourself and enjoy the outdoors. There are also picnic tables scattered in different locations you can just sit and relax and even bring your bbq grill with you. There's also the restaurant located here that's surrounded by water but you'll enjoy the view from wherever you are here. Also plenty of parking on both sides and there's a walking/bike path. read more

The oysters with good and fresh but the calamari was cold and over breaded. Then we had dolphin tacos, shrimp po boy sandwich, crispy grouper sandwich, and the soft-shell crab sandwich. The shrimp po boy and the soft shell crab were over breaded where the breading soaked up the oil it was fried in. The crispy grouper sandwich and tacos were the way to go. I love this place. It's a perfect park to take a cooler and have a BBQ with friends. The Marina *is* located immediately next to the local landfill, better known as Mont Trashmore by the locals, but the smell hasn't been a problem. The wind blows from the ocean, across the marina, and prevents any bad smells from Mont Trashmore. My number one pass time at Black Point is running. I run down SW 87 Ave towards Biscayne National Park. That's right, Black Point Marina connects to Biscayne National Park along SW 87 Ave. This tends to be a very good spot for fishing which is allowed. This is also the route many off road bicyclist like to take. The walking path in Biscayne National Park is unpaved and rocky but still comfortable for running, walking or biking. The trail is also lined with a few educational boards describing the local wild life. The end of the trail opens up to the ocean and it's beautiful. I will post photos. The review left by Luis S. is very accurate. At sundown it's a hoot to watch as boaters struggle to get their boats out of the water. I love it when 4 or 5 guys cram in the back of a pickup truck, and jump up and down hysterically while the driver drops his foot on the accelerator! Failure, comedy, and a cloud of white smoke. What more would you need? There's a mound of grass between the restaurant and the boat ramps where you can set up lawn chairs and watch the show with beer in hand. read more

Everytime i come here i have a great time.lol My Friends & i come here to take out the boat to the Sand bar/Elliot Key. This park also has hiking trail & Restaurant, Boat storage/washing. Very true when they say it becomes a comedy show. Can u imagine being out at sea all day drinking beer,dancing & having a great time, then having to do a perfect job docking & tieing ur boat back on the trailer.lol Accident waiting to happen & the audience doesnt make it easier either. Yesterday the fire truck was out there so who knows what happened before we pulled up to the marina. Very convenient !! Only downside is the traffic jam of boats waiting in line sometimes...... Summers in Miami often include boat rides so understandably this marina is frequented by those storing their vessels here along with their guests coming for the ride. I wasn't the captain this time around so it was nice to sit back and enjoy the ride. It's located further down south in Homestead so the vicinity to Key Largo is certainly one of their most worthy perks. It's quite a drive from the center of Miami to access but for the Kendall folk it's their most accessible docking option with amenities and services galore. What's even quirkier is that plenty of people just come here to people watch and enjoy the area without using it for biting purposes which I actually think is cool. They have barbecue stations and hangout areas to gather a group together so don't confuse it only for its boating purposes. The place is maintained pretty well making it a suitable spot to come and relax or seek vessel dockage. The view is incomparable and quickly reminds you of how glorious Miami truly is. I can always rely on their efficiency which gives them a thumbs up in my book. read more

I had the shrimp po boy and my gluten-free date ,at our server's suggestion, got fish tacos wrapped in lettuce leaves. Next visit I had the crispy grouper sandwich with fries, my date had a burger. This is by far the worst worst restaurant I've ever been at they completely forgot about our table and it took about two hours to get our food only reason I will give this restaurant two stars is because of the amazing view and our waiter was a kind extremely hard working young man unlike the other half of the waiters that were just walking around looking like they were on something. We noticed this waiter not only help with others tables but with the clean up of the restaurant since we had to wait til the darn thing closed for our food. I was taking my trusty Pitweiler, Toasty, for a car ride when I stopped in here. It was a quiet weekday afternoon, and no one approached me about the dog, so that was good. We had a great walk. The park is spacious and has ample parking. The picnic tables, grills, and trash cans are plentiful, but are in rough condition, and there was some evidence of littering about. I'm not a boat owner, but in our walk by the marina portion, it looked clean and secure, each dock has a keypad operated security gate. I've helped launch my friend's boat when we go to Eliot Key or Key Largo and we've never had a problem. I have seen it get a little backed up on weekends, especially with inept weekend warrior boaters trying to get their boats out. There are areas for fishing available within the park. In the past, I've caught and released 2 pretty good sized snook, but I haven't caught anything noteworthy recently. When you are there, don't be surprised to see both manatees and dolphins frolicking in the basin. The best aspect of the park is the Black Point Ocean Grill (which I have reviewed separately). They have decent food, and great drinks with a nice view of the water. During dawn and dusk, and in the evening, there is a definite mosquito issue in the summer. I would recommend visiting during the cooler months when they're not so prevalent. Rarely, when the wind is out of the west, you may encounter the stench of the nearby landfill, Mount Trashmore. In closing, I'd say Black Point Marina is my favorite park in Miami-Dade, as it is close to my house and affords a waterfront atmosphere that makes me happy to reside in Miami. read more

TIP*** For a hilarious show, show up, (WITHOUT A BOAT) around 4 or 5 in the afternoon on Sat or Sun. Bring a cooler and a lawn chair or blanket. Set yourself up on the grassy side of the hill that overlooks the boat ramp. Now watch the drunken idiots try to pull their boats out of the water. It is absolutely hysterical. I once witnessed a man leave his boat tied to the dock as he proceeded to try to pull the trailer out of the water. He ripped the hand railing right off the boat. I've also seen trucks end up in the water. If you are actually going to go boating in Miami, this is the place to put your boat in. Any Miami boating experience is going to be hectic and I would recommend you tow your boat to Key Largo instead. Or, you can put in at Black Point, and be far enough south that you can get away from the crowds. There is all kinds of stuff at Black Point. Nice Boat ramp. Nice bar with decent bar food. Beautiful hiking trail that goes out forever along the channel out to the bay. Great for biking or walking. I take my dogs, but proceed at your own risk... they aren't really allowed. Picnic tables. It's already been mentioned, but the Saturday Afternoon Idiots are reason enough to come down here... even if you don't have a boat. There's walking paths and picnic benches along the mangroves on the North side of the cut. In the dockage pond and the canal, you'll see Manatees, Crocodiles, Alligators, Egrets, Herons, Eagles, Osprey, and much more. The restaurant serves decent fare, but more importantly, has beer, which you can leisurely sip as you watch the "Weekenders" attempt, quite ineptly, to remove their boats from the water. There are large pickups with boat trailers, inexperienced sportboaters after a long day of drinking at Elliot Key, and a slippery boat ramp. You do the math. Generally, one truck per weekend ends up needing to be towed or winched out of the Drink. It's so comical, it should be declared a national event. Bring your camera. read more
