2 stars because the prices and customer service are terrible I saw this little shack while walking along the boardwalk near my hotel. Hmm.....I thought. Might be interesting. Paddle boarding? Kayaking? Ok, I'll take a little spin out in the Atlantic (as any tourist should assume is a safe thing to do). Well, I won't go into the effects of sticker shock I had but the prices weren't good. Probably scared a few people nearby when I gasped. Anyway, the prices really don't matter since there was never anyone to take my hard earned cash. Ridiculous !! Highly not recommended. 5 star location though.....

    Wonderful organization

I can't say enough about this organization, they truly give back to the community and beyond. Check it out its right in the Grove next to Monty's. Stop by and go for a sail, learn more about them and you might be tempted to support them

The details: My husband and I went on a day sail + sunset sail with a few friends, and it was the perfect escape during this time. My husband has pretty bad sea sickness, so I was a bit worried that he would feel sick during the sail, but nope! The yacht sails so smoothly that you feel instantly relaxed, especially as you are looking out the beautiful Miami skyline. There is a section on the front of the yacht that is cushioned where you can lay down and soak in the sun. You can also take some beautiful, Instagram-worthy photos ;) The yacht is also fully furnished, meaning it has even a freaking toaster oven, a laundry machine, and a bomb ass stereo systems to enjoy your favorite Spotify playlist. We enjoyed our time so much and we'll be returning back for sure. Do yourself a favor and just book your sail. You can thank me later.

The interior is quite spacious and elegantly crafted, yet extremely cozy. We all fit comfortably downstairs and had an amazing time while we waited out the rain. Seriously so much fun!! The mattresses on the bed are more comfortable than the ones I have at home. The deck is gorgeous with amazing cushions and pillows. Did I mention there is a 12 bottle wine fridge?! Every single detail of this boat is seriously amazing!!

Had a wonderful experience sailing!…read more Captain Luis and Mabel were wonderful hosts. It is not a huge sail boat but it was perfect for my friends and I. We brought along some food and wine to have for the afternoon. We met at the Dinner Key Marina and promptly got escorted to the boat. It is very laid back and rustic. We all snugly fit in the covered area along with the captain and his wife. There was more room up front to hang out but we all chose to stay together to talk, etc. We started using the motor and once we were a little further out we switched to full sail. It was a perfect day for sailing and it was "smooth sailing" indeed! I was a little apprehensive about being tipped too much while sailing but the truth is that it was awesome and I felt completely safe! There was some spraying on the way back but not to worry, they had raincoats for us all to keep dry. By the time our three hour sail ended I was extremely relaxed and in a sail coma. That was absolutely wonderful. I cannot wait to do this again.

The best part of ASA101 is the "+". Tony exceeds the lessons required in the certification to make you confident to take out a sailboat on your own. It was an outstanding sail, with plenty of space for the four of us to feel comfortable. Capt. Jules was very friendly and informative, and he went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. It was really nice to get to know him, and learn a little bit about sailing. Once we arrived at Sands Key, the snorkeling was so nice. Water is warm enough to just wear a swimsuit and feel comfortable. We saw little school fish, a puffer fish, and a spiny lobster! The water was very shallow (less than 7 feet, some places more like three feet). Capt. Jules provided fins and life jackets, and we decided to bring our own snorkel gear (though he offered that as well). We enjoyed the bottled water and Gatorade that he provided on our way back to shore. We would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a high quality sailing experience. It was worth every penny!

The booking process was very simple and the captain was very prompt to respond and communicate. We booked directly through his website, which I would recommend. The captain took safety very seriously and gave us a full briefing before we head out. But after that it was all laughs and good times. He explained all about the boat to us when we asked questions and shared some cool tidbits about the region's history with respect to pirates, which we really enjoyed. The two seats at the front of the boat had the best view, and we felt very relaxed there. Can't wait to some back and get out on the water with Captain Jules again!

Hands on Miami has been an amazing discovery for me…read more I have been a regular volunteer since January- giving me plenty opportunities to get involved with the community. But while i have always had a desire to volunteer and get involved, i also had a fear of the commitment entailed and the complications that might arise out of my already busy schedule. What is so perfect about Hands On is that it's a flexible volunteering model with no long term commitments, no background checks, no frills or complicated processes. I simply went on the site, found an activity of interest, which to me was working with teens and/or kids and signed up for a specific date. I've been hooked ever since- volunteering my time every month at Miami Bridge- an emergency youth shelter for abused, neglected and abandoned teens ages 10 to 17 and I love it. Every activity is assigned a project leader who takes responsibility for the group and can be a resource on that day for help with directions, etc... I can honestly say it's been a wonderful resource for me in finding ways to get involved and make a difference. Definitely check them out at handsonmiami.org and sign up for an event.
