Friendly staff, inviting atmosphere, and great coffee. What more could you ask for. We came by during their grand opening today and were happy to see the new location is humming along. They kept the same relative layout as the previous coffee shop but brightened up with some fresh artwork and lighter colors. They have a wide selection of drinks, ranging from regular coffee to energy drinks and frozen options. They also serve taco deli tacos and other pastries. Lastly, they have outlets at most tables which will make this a great place for working durning the week. I'm glad we got a new coffee spot down the street. I'm sure we will back.

I love this place. So do my kids. I've seen people in here working and doing school work every time I've visited. It's nice and quiet, clean, has a very friendly staff, and awesome drinks.

Below average latte, nothing special about the decor, long wait for not being busy and the staff isn't friendly.

Civil Goat is the genre of coffee shops that are secluded from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. So many shops in Austin are located in districts that are busy and buzzing. The original Civil Goat is quiet and peaceful through the trees. Upon arrival, it looks like there's only 3 parking spots, but as you keep driving, there's a whole lot behind the shop for parking. It's not super expansive, but at 9:30 am on a Wednesday, I had no issue finding a spot. They have a large covered patio and a small interior shop. They have QR codes on tables to order on your phone and stand up kiosks for to go orders as well. You can also order inside from the barista, but I got a feeling they just prefer you order from the kiosk... I ordered a lavender latte that was delightful and warm. Very balanced in its flavors. It was served in a cute seafoam mug. My friend ordered a cappuccino that was served in frankly a cuter cup, so I was immediately jealous. I also ordered one of their specialty sandwiches called the Cuerney Sam with bacon, egg, American cheese, hot sauce (Cholula), and honey on a croissant. It was $12 which would have me on here complaining about SandFlation, but it was a hearty size and very well done. Nothing overpowered anything else, so the sandwich lived in harmony. I decided to order a second coffee to go. I got their Coco Capp with brown sugar and coconut syrup. They offer alternative milks of oat and almond free of charge, which is a huge W and something I don't see anywhere. It's a little out of the way for me, so I don't know how soon I'll return, but it made a quality impact on me and was floor raiser for my day. Plus there were goats! RIYL: Very civilized goats. Like "mmm, yes very nice" type of civilized.

Example would like an over easy egg-on toast can't do it because they just reheat their already made food. They add a fee/tip to your bill altho you have to do all of the work. You have use an iPad to order, get up to go get your reheated food, get up to get your water, and clean up your own table. Altho you just paid a service/tip fee. Not only that they cop an attitude if you even ask them for more ice. They act they hate working there- um let me rephrase that- ONLY CERTAIN KIND of FOLKS get that friendly service! $13! For one egg, one slice of THIN bacon, spread with avocado on one slice of toast! $7.50 for one SMALL latte. And the drink is SO WEAK!

But not so terrible that I would never come back. The staff is really nice and attentive, and they have delicious pastries near the front of the bar as well. There is plenty of seating and charging outlets so you can continue to use your computer, or tablet as needed. It's also in a really cool location with pretty art outside. My recommendation to the staff would be to amplify the syrup flavoring just a tiny bit more on their special drinks. Other than that things are great!

They sell coffee by the pound, likely for those serious coffee lovers who have fancy expensive coffee machines. I was looking for a latte. Bad news...this coffee company sells coffee by the pound not lattes (hence the name). Good news... they sell drip coffee for $2.00 + tax. What a deal! This family owned shop has been roasting beans locally since 1972 and focuses on helping customers brew excellent coffee at home rather than serving coffee drinks on premises. According to the store manager, Mr. Anderson occasionally comes into the store. The selection of freshly roasted beans is rather larger, with store favorites like Guatemala Antiqua, Dark Sumatra and Arabian Mocha cited as most popular. Coffee cost on average $19 per pound. In addition to coffee, the store carries loose leaf teas, mugs, candy, cards, coffee pot sweaters, brewing equipment, and small other gift items, to name just a few items. I was totally and completely enamored with this store. They had so many trinkets and interesting items, you literally could peruse for hours. Captivating environment...Loved it...

The staff has changed over the years but I've always looked forward to the friendly interactions and perusing the large variety of equipment, confections and mugs. I may be the current Duke of this location, but there is still a lot for me to try. And dang, I really want one of those really nice tote bags. Before I discuss the coffee order I got this time. I wanted to shout out the customer service for being ridiculously amazing. Maybe it was because I got there super early and right when they opened, but this was the first time I did not see them super stressed and low-key freaking out. I usually walk away with my beverages, but this time I sat down. One of the baristas actually came out and checked on me to see how my drinks were. I found this to be super special. Okay, now onto the dirty chai that I ordered. I asked (when I asked about the floral notes that I was tasting) if they made their own chai in house and the woman told me that they in fact did. She also mentioned that I got the end of the house-made batch so what I was tasting might be different from a normal order. I thought this was quite interesting and this was another unique beverage, despite being a staple at many coffee shops. Would I order it again? Probably not but it was good! Also, with the Shoyu butterscotch, I would stick to the iced version. So thank you Desnudo for another great vibe and for making my one hour round-trip always worth it!
