The Austin English Tea Company brings all of the aesthetics, ambiance, and flavors you'd expect in a proper British tea room. Spent a lovely Sunday Funday morning with friends celebrating Galentine's Day (albeit a day later) with fresh and yummy tea sandwiches, scones, clotted cream, mini, quiche, cream puffs, macarons, Prosecco, and more. We had four pots of tea: Classic English Breakfast, Earl Gray, Peach White, and Coconut Oolong. It goes without saying that the English Brekkie and Earl Gray were perfectly brewed and delicious. The Peach White and Coconut Oolong were also perfectly brewed. The Peach White was fragrant and flavorful. Same for the Coconut Oolong though it was more fragrant with a less robust flavor. Still delicious. The tea sandwiches were served on perfectly fresh and soft white bread. Cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches are always my favorite, without question. The Strawberry Devonshire Scone was to die for! I really enjoyed the heart-shaped Rosemary biscuit that had a hint of parmesean flavor as well. The apricot Stilton cheese was flavorful and exactly how you want a Stilton to taste. Service was outstanding. The decor was brilliant, absolute perfection. The entire experience was reminiscent of tea rooms I've visited in England and Ireland. Looking forward to another visit soon! I first discovered Austin English Tea Company back in 2021 when we visited Michelle's Patisserie for our wedding When we went for our tasting, I saw that they had a super cute room for tea parties, but at the time, due to covid, it was closed, so I was thrilled when I received an invitation for an afternoon tea party for a baby shower. It was a really cute British style tea party complete with English and peach tea. We were served crustless sandwiches, clotted cream and biscuits, egg soufflé , mini French macarons, fruit and pieces of a shortbread dessert that was reminiscent of billionaire shortbread bars. The teapots, plates, tiered platters, everything was decorated so nicely. Im so obsessed! The food itself was alright. I'm not the biggest fan of sweets, though. So I didn't care too much for the macaroni, millionaire bar, or scone really. But I liked the lemon tea bread a lot. And I was a big fan of the frittatas. Although some of my friends weren't big fans of the huge chunks of feta inside. But I loved the cheesiness. The sandwiches didn't really hit either for me. But it was still all part of the experience of high tea! The teas however were so delicious! My favorite was probably the peach white, followed by the coconut oolong, and Earl gray. And in true afternoon tea fashion, you can customize the amount of milk and sugar you want. The servers are also so friendly, and you can take home your leftovers. A Truly Magical Sunday Morning! My husband and I are big fans of high tea, and we've experienced it both around Austin and at traditional tea rooms in the UK--so we had high expectations. The Austin Tea Company absolutely delivered, and then some. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we were transported straight to a charming corner of London. The owner herself greeted and seated us, and she couldn't have been more delightful--warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what she does. From what we learned, she grew up in England and now lives in the U.S. with her American husband. Not only does she run the tea room, but she also bakes everything from scratch--and it shows. The interior is beautifully curated, with elegant china, classic tablecloths, and whimsical touches like the adorable elephant-shaped cream and sugar dishes (a personal favorite!). Every detail adds to the vintage British charm. We sampled two teas: English Breakfast and Coconut Oolong. Both were outstanding--the coconut oolong was especially unique, rich, and creamy. Refills are encouraged, and you can switch teas during your visit, which we loved. The food was just as impressive. A traditional tiered tray arrived with a generous assortment: delicate finger sandwiches, fresh-from-the-oven scones (served with proper clotted cream and jam), and a sweet selection of desserts including macarons, fresh fruit skewers, and a homemade bar that tasted like a refined Snickers. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted absolutely divine. The main tearoom is very cute and is surrounded by various teaware with several chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The drinkware is very elegant and you can tell that a lot of love went into the planning and preparation of this concept. The food is delicious. Everything from the spongy bread of the tea sandwiches to the savory artichoke and tomato frittata and crumbly scone tasted of very high quality. The tea sandwiches offer traditional English tea specialties like brie with fig relish & arugula and cucumber & cream cheese. Their sweet offerings like the many berry cheesecake in a teacup and millionaire bars are also delightful. The tea itself is tasty and their menu offers flavors for everyone. You are not limited to one tea flavor so we tried the peach white, ginger lime rooibos, coconut oolong, and Earl Gray. My favorite tea was the peach white, however they were all awesome. The portions are great. Upon arrival of the food tray, I naively thought that I would be able to get through everything since I was very hungry. I was not even close, but thankfully was offered bags to savor the remaining treats at home. You can also buy their loose-leaf teas and other tea-related products on their website. You can make what you'd like of the tea service experience, and it was fun to see some guests dressed in colorful "tea party" attire. That would certainly not be necessary, although I think it makes the event even more enjoyable! I arrived hungry and it did cross my mind that such dainty morsels may not fill me up; I was wrong. I throughly enjoyed the food and was more than satisfied. I was even able to take a few small desserts home that I could not finish. We were both surprised by the amount of food presented. They kindly provide to go packages for the food you are unable to finish. While all of the selections are amazing, our favorites were the Artichoke and Tomato Fritatta , the Brie with Fig Relish and arugula tea sandwich, scone and clotted cream and Many Berry Cheesecake in a Teacup. I wanted to throw a tea party as a celebration for a coworker's upcoming wedding and low and behold there is a company that provides all of the eats and treats for a traditional English Tea party. Sarah was so easy to work with. Apparently you can go and sit down and be served if you reserve during servyhours which is amazing but I opted for the Tea To Go since my group was already planning to meetup elsewhere. There was so much food. You order by the number of people and each person gets enough food for a complete meal with sandwiches, pastries and treats. I ordered less than the number of heads I had because I was looking for more of a snack but we were still taking food home. We tried two teas, the breakfast tea and a peach tea which was the overwhelming favorite of the group. The table settings are charming, everyone there seemed to be having a great time, and the tea and food were DELICIOUS! While everything was very tasty, my favorite food item was the tomato and feta frittata. Perfect texture, incredibly flavorful, and served at a perfect temperature. My first time trying British English Tea food at Austin. This time actually turned out to be the best British English Tea I've ever tried. In fact, the English Tea was better than the tea I had a Galway, Ireland. Japanese people coined the disease Paris Syndrome. It's a fever-like state that results from people going to Paris, but realizing that their expectations of Paris is completely different from Paris in reality. Well, if you have an obsession with British food instead of Paris, come here. Your visit won't result in any England syndrome because you won't be disappointed. Everything was so scrumptious and delightful to look at. The soft scones, the exquisite sandwiches, the delectable tea, the dainty macarons, the savory quiche, the beguiling homemade jam, and the eccentric millionaire bar. Everything was made from scratch, and actually tasted the part. I've never been a scone person because they are often too dry and crumbly for me. But the scones I tried here were moist, and had hints of honey in the taste. The sandwiches were basic cucumber and ham sandwiches, but Sarah and her helpers somehow made it taste like the best sandwich I have ever had. This party was the first time I tried a millionaire bar, and I'm impressed. The bar tastes like a glorious Twix bar, and gives you a sugar high that makes you feel like a millionaire I guess. I helped myself to the complimentary tea refills and tried two kinds of teas: The coconut oolong and the strawberry breakfast tea. I actually wasn't a fan of the coconut oolong tea, but the strawberry breakfast tea was decent. The whipped cream was the elegant cherry on top to the entire tea. read more

It included lots of authentic tea choices, scones with clotted cream/jam, millionaire bars, macaroons, and four types of sandwiches. Everything was delicious and well worth the price. You are able to pack home the food if you don't finish it as well. The decorative pieces in the room were beautiful and all of the pretty dishes were lovely too. It was a raspberry/cherry hibiscus tea. It was perfectly sweet with a tart after tone and paired well with the treats we ate. We also tried the Peach White which was light, refreshing and actually mixed well with the red berry tea As well. And last we tried the Ginger Lime Rooibos tea which was warm and soothing; perfect for after eating while relaxing. Each tea pot had enough for 4 cups of tea inside and we each got two teas, so it was nice to share and try each others to enjoy together. The food was delicious! We received our adorable three tier platter full of 3 types of signature tea sandwiches each such as cucumber, carrot and Turkey, Devonshire scones, macarons, lemon tea bread, raspberries, feta tomato Parmesan frittatas, and a Banoffee pie in a tea cup. The scones were lightly sweet and came with clotted cream and a personal strawberry jam jar! The cucumber sandwhich was light and refreshing and the carrot relish matched with the hummus was wonderful! The frittata was phenomenal; I loved the combos created! The Banoffee pie was to die for! This is a must! Layers of toffee, banana custard and a biscuit on the bottom was like a banana pudding but better! Lastly the macarons were marshmallowy, soft and melted in your mouth! For background on this review, I visited on August 20th 2023 and the cost of the tea was $46.00 per person. The event was at Michelle's Patisserie. It appears that the space is rented out over the weekend. This was for a friend's birthday and she wished to visit here for tea. Now I have experienced tea in England and Ireland so as the owner is English, I did expect an English experience. This was not the case and hence my low rating. I may visit again in the future and if my concerns are addressed, I will update my review accordingly. The ambiance of the cafe is very cute even though it's in a strip mall and beautifully decorated. Now for the tea; we were a table of 11 and were given the choice of four teas. We chose the Earl Grey, Jasmine, Peach and Ginger. They were lovely choices and we could request refills. I wish there were warmers for the tea because the AC was on full blast which is expected in Texas in the summer and the teas actually got cold. Now on to the food. There were three sandwiches served, a roasted turkey breast, which was deli slices with arugula. Cucumber and cream cheese which had a few slivers of Cucumber and a lemon hummus with curried carrots which is not English. The sandwich sizes were very disappointing and when I requested more, I was met with a no. The scone was cold a a day old, it was not served with clotted creme as the menu stated but rather butter. The jam served was a basic variety jam. The fruit skewer was 5 small pieces of fruit. And the frittata was okay. The millionaire bar was small and for some reason the Caramel layer had not set correctly and tasted like a mixture of Caramel and peanut butter. Finally the macron was half the size of one you would purchase in a French patisserie. I was disappointed aa I was hungry after this selection. I did look at past reviews and it appears that the service did match the price point in 2018. A reassessment of quality vs price may be in order for the owner. It may appear that rent has skyrocketed and so a new location may be needed. read more

My friend organized a bridal shower here for me and it was the best experience I've had in a long time. Austin English Tea company operates inside Michelle's Patisserie. I hear that they do open tea parties at the end of each month. We were able to book the space for roughly a dozen people. It ended up being $35 per person. However, you get bottomless tea and with 6+ options, it's a lot of tea. The price also includes three tiers of food. The bottom has your savory sandwiches, the next level up are the scones, and the top layer was filled with sponge cake and macarons. We dined like queens and has such a great time. Our host was attentive and always made sure we had enough to eat and drink. I can't wait to return to this place with other friends. I may just do it for my birthday in January! read more
