Might have been understaffed this day but they would not take orders at the 1st box and made you go straight to the window. Meaning they could not start making your order beforehand. Very inconvenient, 2 cars ahead of me and took 15mins to complete their orders. Had to go ahead and back out of the line because of time. I came in yesterday for the first time after hearing a lot of good things about black rock. I should've left after seeing the torani syrup bottles but decided to give the benefit of the doubt. Service was terrible, it took 25 minutes for a shaken espresso latte and a slice of pumpkin bread. The coffee was watery and the "pumpkin" cold foam had no flavor. Finally stopped in for a coffee. The barista was overall friendly and helpful. I had the German Chocolate cake latte and it was quite tasty. I also ordered the sausage burrito and confirmed 3 times no salsa. Unfortunately, my first and only bite definitely included salsa. Overall a good experience just disappointed I will not eat today as this was on my way in to work till 7. Dude, the drinks are pretty good! I got a peach smoothie and it's delicious. It actually tastes like fresh peach and the consistency is perfect. I also tried the caramel blonde but substituted the caramel for strawberry syrup. It's a solid coffee flavor; quite enjoyable and I'm starting to think I'm a good decision-maker. This review is only for the matcha. I ordered take out and it was quick so no complaints about the cafe as a whole. I ordered an iced matcha latte with whole milk and no sweetener. It was like $6 for a medium so a reasonable price for matcha compared to some other places. It tastes like the matcha powder is pre-sweetened. Too sweet for my liking. I would compare it to places like dunkin, scooters or 7brew. Not bad, but nothing special and too sweet. I saw another comment that said the matcha powder wasn't mixed well but I didn't have that issue. I know it can depend on the barista though. read more

So glad I stopped by! Currently they're offering special promotions for this month (February '23) since they just opened. I wish I took a picture but you can see that others have posted it. Today was Monday and so a 16oz Matcha with Lavender foam was on special for $3. They also have specials for Tuesday and Wednesday. We also tried the kolaches which were only ok. They also were warmed up but they were still pretty cold when we got 'em. I would just stick with Shipleys (can never go wrong there!). What I loved the most was the service. They offered help for suggestions on what to get while we were in the drive thru and asked about our day and just kept the conversation going instead of just a one word response. This was an awesome place to go for early morning coffee. I was on my way to San Antonio and needed a pick me up. You won't miss this place, it was really bright from outside. Lots of light! The server was really nice. I was impressed that she wrote on my cup "hazelnut" to differentiate from my other coffee order. Almond/hazelnut are drink options, but they can accommodate for a nut allergy. I should note that I generally do not order sweet drinks at coffee shops. A cappuccino option is my go-to drink at many coffee shops and it wasn't clear to me that they had it until I re-looked at the menu at home (it's listed as Latte/Capp). The pricing option was on the higher end for the favorites ($5.50-$6.00), and standard for drip coffee ($3.05). Attended on their opening day on February 10, 2023 when drinks were complimentary, with a group. The drive-through line was 10+ cars deep so I went inside, and there wasn't much of a line. I ordered two smoothies and it took about 5 minutes despite the long drive-thru line. Someone who ordered a basic coffee got their drink within 3 minutes (and they arrived after me). I got to sample the following drinks: Nitro Cold Brew: 3.5/5. Smooth, but lacking any intense flavors and with a little too much ice that disrupts the drink and waters it down. Americano: 2.5/5. Watered down a little too much. Similar to the nitro cold brew, it was lacking any flavor notes. Strawberry Smoothie: 3/5. Inconsistent texture as layers will separate quickly. The thicker part is the consistency of a shake somehow, but the watery parts separate quickly. See video. The strawberry tastes far too sweet and sweetness is not customizable. Peach smoothie: 3/5. Basically the same comments as the strawberry smoothie. During their opening, the only smoothie flavors available were strawberry and peach. I was told that mango, green apple, and wildberry would be available starting the next day. Overall, I can see this being a nice hangout spot for a lot of Stratford students and a better coffee stop than Starbucks for people that enjoy sweeter drinks. Drip coffee- THE BOMB! Nicely done. Iced Matcha with lavender foam- good flavor; however, matcha needed whisked more- clumpy- maybe run through strainer?! Otherwise, Great! Blended peach fuel- A bit sweet for me but if it keeps my energy and no downfall, them ok! Service with a smile. Accommodating person who was learning the register and drinks. Ambiance was clean and modern. Pleasing. Only issue is that they are new and still learning. I got charged more than i had signed up for - regular price instead of Monday price. Located off of Dairy Ashford Rd near I-10, this location opened not too long ago. Very busy and seemingly efficiently ran drive thru, with a warm welcoming inside. The baristas were friendly, inviting and patient with newbies (like us that morning)) to their establishment. coffees were tasty but not as strong as i usually like mine. The interior was decorated appropriately for the season (xmas), very spacious, and had a great vibe. will definitely grab a cup of joe next time the craving strikes and im around. read more
