Heytea has become one of my favorite boba spots in Chinatown. It is never not crowded here but the wait isn't too shabby. It's always packed every time we're here. The lines move fairly quick so it's not too bad. I like their mango drinks, the coconut mango boom and the cloud mango. Decent size for the price and quality is consistent. This place isn't ideal to study or work. There are no tables, mostly seats. It's also pretty loud and crowded most of the time.
BREAKING NEWS - Heytea now has the famous pistachio cloud jasmine coconut! I had to compare if it was just as good as the one from Molly Tea, and omg... I think it might be better. The pistachio cloud is much more nuttier, you can taste more of that coconut, while still retaining a strong jasmine flavor. Molly Tea is definitely more fragrant when it comes to the jasmine tea, but the other flavors (pistachio & coconut) are lackluster now that I've tried Heytea's version. The Coconut Mango Boom is also very good. I can see why is a fan favorite. The coconut jelly is a nice touch. I need to come back to try the grape one because I saw at least 10 cups of it being prepared in a row.
Hey, tea, you are too expensive for my wallet! Almost $10 for a milk tea. Yikes! It's good, but not that worth it in my opinion. I rather walk across the parking lot and buy a whole Chinese bbq rice box for lunch. On top of that, the last time I went during the afternoon, they ran out of boba. The layout and interior decor of this place is interesting. It's minimalistic and simple. There are no menus to read on the wall and the restroom door blends into the wall. The line to order is slow. I'm not sure if it's intentional or not. You can't read the menu until you get to the counter. Then you are in the "ummmm" and question mode. The payment screen asks for a tip. Why? It's getting out of hand. I'm waiting for grocery stores to start asking for tips for bagging your items.
Even though the line was slow (~20 min, 2/3 of store from cashier), wait after ordering was long (~20 min), and it was hot inside, the experience went okay since my drink was delicious and pretty and I got the "football" (soccer) magnet after buying (2) drinks. The cashier made sure to clarify how the offer works since she saw my sis and I. A pair of drinks can get (1) magnet but only (1) offer per person. If we each wanted a magnet, we'd have to make separate purchases. The light pink and green colors of the guava green grape were refreshing to see. It tasted like a frozen fruit bar, which was great for a hot day. The kale boost tea was another popular item. I did think it tasted lighter in kale juice though.
In a sea of drink and boba spots in Chinatown, this place actually stands out. The quality is consistent, the menu has a ton of options without feeling gimmicky, and everything tastes like it was made with care. The space is modern, clean, and functional..the kind of spot you can hang out in without feeling cramped. Prices are about what you'd expect in this area, but the drinks make it worth it. Do yourself a favor and try the Mango Boom. One sip and your taste buds are going to wake up real quick.
I was in Houston visiting a friend and came across HeyTea and knew I had to make a stop. We do not have a location in Austin, TX but I am a huge fan of tea. They are known for quality ingredients, and giving ancient eastern tea a fresh, modern spirit. Through every cup, they aspire to bring a sense of inspiration and zen to everyone. The store had a very modern and minimalistic vibe. Decorated with silver tea canisters. You can place your order on the app or at the counter. They offer a curated selection of drinks that seem very well thought out. I downloaded the app and they had several reward offers and coupons and I ended up using 15% off my order. The service was very friendly explaining the variations in the drinks and was very patient with me as I was trying to download the app. The place was very crowded even though it had just opened. I had trouble making up my mind and so I ordered two drinks. The Pistachio Cloud King Jasmine, crafted through nine rounds of jasmine scenting, using 5,500 fresh jasmine blossoms for every 500g of tea, with no artificial flavor. Blended with real dairy milk only, no artificial creamer, and finished with a handcrafted in-house Pistachio Cloud on top. It was like heaven on earth with both nutty and floral notes. The foam on top was smooth and indulgent without feeling heavy. I got the Grapefruit Boom for the road, with freshly cut grapefruit slices and juicy grapefruit pulp are infused in Jasmine Tea. This drink was also very flavorful and refreshing with the citrus notes and fresh grapefruit pieces. HeyTea definitely lives up to the hype for creative drinks. I want to open one in Austin, TX because I would definitely be a regular if it was closer!!
Holy moly the wait here is so long. The first time I went I waited in line for 20 mins only to be told at the front to wait 30 more minutes for my drink. I had to come back to see what the hype was about! I ordered on the app for the coconut mango boom. It was pretty delicious, I loved the mango and coconut and the spirulina added a nice taste to it. I probably should have asked for it 50% sweet. Definitely recommend ordering from the app next time!
I. Love. Heytea. It's up to hype and worth every penny. The "Booms" are fresh, delicious, and the perfect sweetness. My go-to is the Mango Grapefruit Boom, the bits of grapefruit could be weird for some people but I love the texture and added sourness of the pulp. My friends love the normal Mango Coconut Boom as well as the Coconut Mango Blue. While I don't usually like grape flavored things, their Crispy Grape Boom tastes fresh and the pieces of grape are truly crispy and crunchy, it's my favorite part. Their matcha drinks are also delicious, creamy with a strong matcha flavor. Service is pretty fast for how busy it gets. You can use the app to track your estimated wait time and also see how many cups are ahead of yours. The inside of the store always smells like jasmine and I love it, it could be too much for some people though. Their concept is minimalistic and seating is limited. While there are a lot of parking spots around it, parking could also be hard depending on how busy the rest of the plaza is.
My friend & I got the Coconut Mango Blue & the Kale Boost Tea. I was hesitant about the kale drink but it surprised me in a good way so I'd recommend both. The interior does have limited seating so we were standing in one of the corners waiting for our drinks. They were busy at the time we went but our drinks still came out fairly quickly.
I practically a regular here now. Though it does get packed quickly and hard to find a seat to sit down to enjoy your drink, I definitely recommend just going once for their drink. It's as good as the hype says it is. I definitely recommend getting the app and ordering ahead of time plus they have coupons available in the app! The staff try their best to quickly prepare the drinks and bag every purchase in a nice bag. I would say the downside is that it does get pack, loud, and overstimulating during peak hours. Overall, they have been a favorite to-go place for drinks and they often times have promotions going on!
I had a great experience at heytea. My drink was great! And the ambiance was interesting as well I got the coconut mango boom. It was a great drink. You can tell they use fresh fruit - it's hard to describe just how big of an impact that has on the quality of the drink, but it was darn good. My mango tasted very fresh & juicy. The coconut was delicious too. I was very surprised with the quality & taste of my tea. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is just due to how packed the place was! It was crazy, so many people. And I think as a result it was a little dirty/untidy. There was no soap in the bathroom... It took a bit to get my order, but for the quantity of people it was actually not too long. I'd recommend giving this place a try, but maybe place an online order ahead of time
Another top boba spot that is a must try. My favorite is their boom drinks, specifically Crisp Grape Boom. Super refreshing. It can get busy oftentimes so I suggest putting an order online beforehand.
I love HeyTea! Their drinks are always so refreshing and they use fresh fruit and the most floral tea in their drinks. They have been opened for a while now but the line is still so long everytime. I have tried a lot of drinks from them: * Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea * Supreme Matcha Latte * Triple Supreme Matcha (eh) * Mango Grapefruit Boom * Crisp Grape Boom * Oat Matcha Bobo (eh) * Magnolia Cloud Tea Latte * Coconut Mango Blue * Tiramisu Milk Tea (eh) Some of the drinks are okay but most drinks are delicious. The milk teas are a hit or miss, but you really can't go wrong with the fruity drinks. They are quite expensive but it's worth it!

Not sure if I'd go out of my way to return, but if it comes up as a suggested place, I wouldn't pass it up. read more

Second time back and this place always hits the spot! Their tea is very aromatic and I really love their jasmine tea. Saw that they had this pistachio jasmine drink and had to try! It was just as good as it looked, pistachio was creamy and nutty and the jasmine was subtle yet delicious. Saw a few people order and come to pick up, maybe that is the move instead of waiting a bit for the drinks. Rewards are only earned through the app so that is more incentive as well. Still waiting on the day they add milk substitutes because my gassy stomach is suffering but it's worth it LOL. read more

Wow the coconut mango boom tastes like mango sticky rice in drink form which just happens to be one of my all time favorite desserts! I get it with less sugar. What a perfect treat. Also enjoyed the kale boost tea which was light and floral. Lines can get long so order ahead. Worth a try for sure. They have many offerings. Will be back! read more
Easy to find, parking is hard during peak time, this place got crowded around noon on. Tuesday! Inside is very contemporary decoration & minimalist. Staffs are nice and service is fast. Triple matcha (1/5) - overwhelming and tastes like grass Magnolia tea latte (5/5) - my favorite Overall, solid bubble tea place and I will come back to try their other drinks. read more
The drinks are delicious. Specifically, the coconut mango boom! The best way to describe it is a Thai mango sticky rice-flavored Vietnamese che. Lots of different textures, including jelly, sago and soft mango. YUM!!! Service is as fast as any standard boba shop. The staff is absolutely hustling in the back, but I wish they would make a more efficient system for picking up your drink when it's ready (window seems kind of small, and there is only 1 person organizing the drink pick up). Ambiance is very sterile which is on-brand, but just wish there was more seating area to visit with friends. You definitely can't study here. read more
First time trying out Heytea and I am a huge fan. The place is very minimalistic, modern, and cute inside with wide variety of different tea options to choose from. Service is also self-service as you placed the order online and pick it up at the counter once it's ready based on the number that pops up on your app. I got the King Jasmine Guava and the flavors were truly amazing. I think next time I will try the pistachio cloud jasmine tea as it also looked really good. I highly recommend this location. read more
Came here with the gf on opening day in the late afternoon. The line wasn't as long as the Galleria's but I think partly because it's Chinatown instead of inside the Galleria. Got through the line and got our drinks in 45 minutes. We ordered the Triple Supreme Matcha Latte and the Cloud Yumberry. Both were pretty good! The cloud 'slushes' are very nicely blended so it's a great texture. I mean they're $8, and the loyalty program isn't working yet... so probably the most expensive standard drinks in town at the moment. My main gripe is the QA, since my Yumberry had a seed in there, glad I didn't break a tooth. RIP Yumcha. You are now the mega chain Heytea, even though we have one at the Galleria. Your seats, gone. Your under $6 drinks, gone. There's a new boba in town. read more
Boba tea is something I'll always get after a big meal. I decided to give this spot a chance based on good reviews. I didn't come for their grand opening due to the hype so we decided to come here Friday evening. It was extremely busy but it didn't take long at all before we received our drinks. The staff were nice and worked like a well oiled machine. I went ahead and place an order for 3 drinks. I got the yumberry boom, Coconut mango blue & cloud mango. Visually the drinks look good & well presented, taste wise it wasn't bad but when I'm drinking tea, whether it's milk or fruit tea I expect some sort of tea flavor. Unfortunately it was so weak you couldn't taste any tea. The cloud mango, if I'm judging base on taste, I'll say it's my favorite. It's refreshing and they use fresh fruits to blend in with the drinks. Yes, it's delicious and I can drink it all day, but the tea flavor was very weak which is why I'm giving this spot a 3. The coconut mango blue had a lot of coconut flavor but once again, there's not even a pinch of jasmine tea inside the drink as the cashier stated that there was tea. The yumberry actually had a subtle tea flavor but my least favorite because it didn't taste that good. One thing I noticed is that there were so much trash on the floor, I won't even fault the staff for this because it's common sense and common courtesy to throw your trash away in the bin. There is a garbage can next to the entrance so idk why customers are tossing trash all over the floor. I do however commend one person who actually picked up all the trash that was on the ground, mind you he was a customer. I brought it up to the cashier and actually thanked that customer for doing an honorable thing, because honestly he didn't even have to do it. Overall, it was an okay experience. Service was quick and friendly. The decor is beautiful and minimalist. Will I come back? I'll give them one more try in a couple of months. I know they're new so they're working on some kinks, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. read more
Love a good heytea! The new oolong yuzu drink is nice and refreshing as the weather warms up. Service is super fast - the best tip is definitely to order on the app and usually it's ready in about 10-15 mins! Parking is harder as expected and there isn't much sitting space in the shop, but it's pretty easy to pop in and grab your drinks on the go! read more
One of my favorite places to get Boba and Matcha! I love how they have Collabs and new drinks all the time, they also have online ordering system that's pretty convenient however this place is pretty crowded just like any other location. Overall, I highly recommend and would come back! read more
Good God, the wait for your drink at this specific HeyTea location after ordering is horrendous. With that said, if you're not with an auntie and just with a bunch of younger cousins/friends, you'll be fine. Not much to entertain but talking to each other. No games with limited seatings. Cool, minimal ambiance. The restroom door is blend in with the wall! Opposite side to the register, for those who need to use their restroom. Expect to wait 30 to 50 minutes for your drinks AFTER placing your order. Order on the app to help but you might still be waiting even if the lines doesn't seem that crazy inside. Matcha Cloud Coconut Blue ($7.99) - nicely blended together of matcha, coconut water (they use Vita Coco), butterfly pea flower, and coconut jelly (not sure if it contains gelatin so please ask if it's against your religion or food allergies). Mango Grapefruit Boom ($7.99) - My favorite combination. This was finished within 10 minutes after leaving. I saw an older Asian woman, taking off one drink off at a time of her receipt due to the long wait. Honestly, felt bad. From her long list on her receipt became just one drink for maybe her daughter or granddaughter. It doesn't seem like they hand-mix their matcha as I was watching them either so not sure why the extremely long wait when it's not crazy long. But who knows, maybe all the online orders take up their time even though only one person at the registers, one person who probably lose their voice by the end of the shift for calling out order numbers in a crowded, loud place, and everyone is at the back of the house preparing drinks. Compare to other HeyTea locations I have been to, this is one of the better ones so shout out to those who make drinks here. Would I recommend this bubble tea compare to many other bubble teas in Chinatown that's literally 2-3 stores from each other? Perhaps, if price is not an issue, you want a trendy drink, and coming at an off-peak time. I haven't checked the actually ml of the cups but seems smaller compare to other bubble tea shops in Chinatown. Just a heads up if you care. *** If the owner of this location see this review, please. Add a speaker or something like at Lee's bakery so everyone in and outside the shop can hear their order number. One time, a young boy switched with a lady for calling out the numbers and you cannot hear the poor high school/college kid, which created chaos at the pickup/register area. read more
Be prepared to wait in line at this Heytea location, especially on weekends! However, the line moves pretty quickly, and the drinks are worth the wait. The shop is clean, bright, and minimally decorated. There are not too many tables at this location, so people normally stand around or leave after retrieving their drinks. I highly recommend getting the coconut mango boom. I get mine with 50% sugar, so it has the perfect amount of sweetness for me without interfering with the coconut and mango flavors. The coconut milk is light and creamy, exceptionally complementing the refreshing mango puree. The sago and coconut milk jelly add an addictive chewy texture to the drink. I've been here three times so far, and will definitely be back to try their other drinks! read more
The new hottest boba shop in town! I came here twice on the weekend to see what they got and I'd have to say, the bellaire boba shops in the area have some real competition! Their two hottest drinks ive seen fly out are the Matcha Cloud Coconut Blue and the Coconut Mango Boom. (Well, I got the blue verison of this) and I loved both of them. The matcha you were only able to get full or no sweetness, as someone who usually opts for 20% or 50% this surprised me. Ended up getting 100% here and can confirm its actually not too sweet! I really liked their matcha and I think this is what will keep me going here. The Mango drink was also delicious if youre looking for a fruity option. As always with every boba shop, launch is usually always great. I hope they continue to keep the same quality as time goes by. At the moment, both times I went there on the weekend, was about a ~15-20 minute wait. To be expected but I overall think it was worth it! read more

We came here for the grand opening. And they had a buy one get one free. Understandably, there was a very long line. I liked that the staff communicated to the people on the line and helped them pick out drinks from the menu and that they section people off to help with crowd control inside the store. We picked a milk tea and a great drink . Once we placed an order, they were very quick. Maybe too quick because the milk tea was more milk, barely any tea. But the boba was really nice and chewy. The grape drink was nice mainly because I don't see a lot of grape flavor Tapioca drinks in town. There's free parking out front. read more

Okay $8-9 for some tea is CRAZY. But, if price is not an issue, and you are looking for tea with the best quality ingredients and trend - then Heytea does what they aim to do. Very rich tea flavors, match, coconut milk, every ingredient feels premium. I highly recommend the Cloud Matcha. I didn't not find their standard milk tea offerings much better tasting than the 100s other milk tea places even though I could tell the tea itself was higher quality Would I Go Out of My Way to Try? Yes Would I Return? Yes Food Taste- 9/10 Ambiance - 8/10 Service - 8/10 Value- 7/10 read more

I haven't been in the boba mood for awhile but was intrigued when HeyTea opened in Chinatown. The interior was very modern and minimal, but with limited seating and designed for a grab-and-go model. The lines have been very long since opening, so I typically order on the app first. It's also very nice that you can see live updates of our drink order. We ordered the Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea (comes with Jasmine tea versus the other is black tea - wish there was a clearer indication since the name is the exact same on the menu) and the Coconut Mango Boom. We enjoyed the quality of the tea as it was very fragrant. Overall, the cost is higher for this place but justifiable due to the quality of the drinks. read more

I first tried Heytea in LA, and it really left an impression on me. Not sure if it is a positive one, but I distinctly remember how stinky the little tea shop was. Come to find out, apparently Heytea intentionally diffuses tea scents in their shops to draw customers in. I'm not sure why they use such pungent smells, but hey, if it works it works. This is the third location of Heytea I've tried, and my classic go-to drink is still the mango coconut boom. I won't spend much time commenting on their menu (you can read my other 2 heytea reviews), but I do want to give praise to the cleanliness and efficiency of this location. Even though the shop is still buzzing with customers, Heytea has figured out a way to streamline app orders and minimize wait times for everyone involved. Also there's a new customer app special for 25% off (?) your first drink, which is a nice little surprise. Overall, I really enjoy Heytea and will include it in my chinatown boba rotation. read more

Let me start off by saying I didn't purchase anything from this establishment, it was my first time visiting. I'm a huge fan of matcha, so since we were in the area and someone had told my sister about this place, we decided to stop by. We waited about 10 minutes in line, debating if we wanted to stay since it seemed to be moving a little slowly. While waiting, we were trying to figure out what we wanted to order, but I thought the digital display behind the registers was the full menu. Turns out, the actual menu is in front of the registers, which we didn't realize until we got to the counter. Once there, we looked through the options and asked a few questions. For me, the menu felt a bit limited in terms of variety and flavors, and I didn't see anything that caught my attention, especially since I was hoping for a strawberry matcha or something similar. The young lady who helped us, though, was very sweet and patient as we browsed and asked questions. We thanked her and decided to leave without ordering. read more
I've been itching at the chance to try Heytea after hearing so much about it from friends! I finally got to try it the other day and admittedly, it was slightly underwhelming. Granted, I do think I've been hyping it up in my head a lot, so my expectations were really high. I also didn't get to try it fresh since my boyfriend picked it up for me and then picked me up ~40 minutes later. I usually ask for no ice to prevent dilution, but with the coconut mango boom drink where part of the drink is like a slushie, it was a little harder to get around. I wished the mango and coconut flavors were stronger, but I can't tell if it's because the slushie part had diluted the drink a little. Would return to try it fresh or try other drinks! read more
Got the triple matcha latte and matcha cloud coconut bloom. I prefer the fruity mango drinks compared to the matcha drinks, but the matcha taste was great. The blue matcha bloom was coconut flavor heavy but had some great toppings. The triple matcha latte seemed a little too dense and the mochi did not combine well with the thick drink. The sweetness level was both great, but if you would like a cool refreshing drink maybe get a fruity one! We went from the grand opening so the place was crammed and very warm. I'm guessing the spot will become a little better over time. Parking is plentiful but might have to drive around if it's busy. Right next to share tea and I liked how this spot is open a little later. read more
