Nice ambiance place to have coffee and experience coffee. They have many choices on how to brew your coffee. I originally ordered the Ibrik. However they weren't able to do so because of an ingredient they were missing. I hope to come back and try it. Meanwhile I had a smoked cold brew and added some half and half and raw sugar. Service was great and attentive. The gentlemen who helped me was very nice and explained all of the methods for me to decide. Happy Yelping!!

Today was a coffee day. There is little strip center at Wilcrest and Westheimer that YOU NEED TO CHECK OUT. First, there is a Daiso Japanese dry goods store here, a total trip! Next, Avesta Iranian, one of the finer restaurants for Persian cuisine. Then , there is a Korean chicken place, an Indian restaurant (Desi District), a bike place, a cat hospital, nd one of those delivery by conveyor sushi places. Totally cool. But today, was a visit to the absolutely delightful specialty Colombian coffee shop called Cafe Tales or Cafetales...you choose. I chose the option of one gesha coffee but extracted by three different methods. In order to compare the methods keeping all other variables the same. They also offer an option of three coffees but all three extracted by the same method. Compare and contrast. Awesome. And I learned about the vandola, a Costa Rican coffee maker that one can use Kalita flat bed filters with, V60 conicals. I WANT ONE. And I came up with a fake band idea, a Costa Rican girl group called Marta and the Vandolas, singing their hit single. Bailando en las Calles. When I next return to Puebla, I'm going to contact the Talavera family that I know there and ask them to form one for me in the colors of Puebla Talavera .

When I think about craft coffee places in West Houston, this place definitely floats to the top of mind. I love that they're not just selling you hipster coffee, but they're truly invested in the art form that is coffee making. They have a plethora of coffee brewing methods and a rotational display of deliciously roasted coffee beans. If you want to learn about coffee, this is the perfect place to try out. I love that this place gives you the opportunity to dive deep into how the same bean, brewed differently can bring out different notes in the coffee. The owner is super friendly and does a great job of advising you if you're looking for something particular. I also loved that he takes the time to explain things as well. It's a good space to hang out and do some work while getting a cup of coffee. Just note that the storefront is all windows, so temperature can vary based on the weather outside.

This coffee shop is golden. I can't believe I didn't even know it existed until I was looking up coffee shops in the area. So glad to have found their page. I tried their iced oat latte as a customer gave it their highest praise, and wow, I can see why they drive the distances that they do to get this drink. The foam itself is so creamy and nutty. I didn't even get to the coffee part yet, and I was already obsessed. Then, as I got to the coffee, it was so light and refreshing, pairing perfectly with the foam. I highly highly recommend this drink. I need to try more drinks and their pastries. The inside is bright, clean, and spacious. The employee is warm and welcoming, and he is knowledgeable and kind! I've been telling all my friends about this coffee shop!!!

Not just a good cup of coffee but a true experience!!! If you are a coffee enthusiast - definitely recommend! The food didn't disappoint either. The experience is an education and is fully engaging: The owner Juan walked us through the brewing process, discussing grind size, bloom time, extraction, flavor notes. They source specialty and Colombian coffees. We selected the special Gesha coffee & it did not disappoint! It famous for being extremely delicate, complex, and expensive (of course, we selected it by smell not knowing this). Will definitely be back.

Visiting from California and wanted to check out this cafe. First impression -- super clean, minimal, and has that Colombian influence, even down to the espresso mugs. What really caught my attention though was that they actually offer an experience with coffee. You can pick between: * Brew Fly - 3 different brew methods, 1 coffee of your choice. * Sensorial Experience - 1 brew method, 3 different coffees to compare. We went with the Brew Fly and chose the "Geisha" coffee. Also tried their Smoked Cold Brew and picked pecan wood chips to smoke it with. I love that they actually walked us through it and taught us about the coffee while making it. Even better -- the owner himself did our tasting, and you can tell how passionate he is about his craft. The coffee was so smooth, not too acidic, and honestly felt like a tea ceremony but with coffee. I also got the Crème Brûlée Cappuccino, which was hands down my favorite. Not a sugary dessert drink -- it's a real cappuccino, but with a thin sugar layer torched on top. Just the right balance. We also grabbed a turkey panini-style sandwich and a slice of chocolate cake. The sandwich was fresh, pressed, and perfect with the coffee. If you're into coffee and want more than just a quick cup, this place is worth checking out. It's thoughtful, interactive, and delicious.

An absolutely lovely coffee shop for a date or just to learn! Plenty of parking in the strip mall. I was a little confused with the Experiences versus individual coffee styles. Basically, if you order three different coffee styles, or three coffee bean types, they'll count it as an Experience (I think). I went with the V-60 and the Kyoto cold brew, both black, and shared with a friend. The V-60 was brewed in front of us, with the barista having a wonderful explanation of the expected flavor notes, the moderate brewing style carefully measured (15g coffee/210g water for a 1:14), and the method (two pours in series). They are very meticulous, down to the serving cup and warming cups to ensure no variations in oxidation. Lovely presentation and very informative. The V-60 was silky smooth, nearly like drinking a tea, and their standard coffee had notes of dark chocolate and citrus. The Kyoto cold brew was intense (was told it had over 200mg of caffeine), dark, and roasty. Both me and my +1 both loved the Kyoto. I also sampled my friend's Coquito Cold Brew and found it pleasant. Clear coconut notes with still intense cold brew underneath. Would definitely come back. Probably among my top coffee shops in Houston.

Cafetales is a very unique shop in town that offers artisanal coffee brewed in several different ways. They have roasted beans from all over the world as well as different brewing methods that you can experiment with. It may feel overwhelming to order from this menu, but the owner/baristas are very helpful with recommending drinks/methods that fit your taste preferences. They are very knowledgebale on what they specialize in, which I find rare and really apperciate. I ended up picking the syphon brew method, and the guy brought it over to my table and explained the entire steaming and brewing method. My cup of coffee that resulted had a rich, full body that was perfectly balanced. If I'm ever in the mood for an expertly brewed cup of coffee, this is the place I will be. Interior is very clean with plenty of tables as well.

Nice inside. Plenty of parking outside and comfy seating inside. Delicious coffee with good recommendations for flavorings

If you're looking to treat yourself and ball out, this is the spot! Don't let the traditional interior decor fool you, you're not in for a traditional experience. I shelled out over 7 dollars for a tres leches cake (single portion) and forked over 13.80 for my smoked cold brew, and for that price I was crossing my fingers they snuck in a little booze! Also for that price, your peacock of a drink comes with a table side smoking that will fragrant the entire cafe for the next 10 minutes :). Intoverts, you've been warned. Now here's why I have 0 regrets in indulging in this experience. This place knows its coffee and takes pride in coffee as an art, something difficult to find without the pretentiousness! When I tell, the smile on the man (who is likely the owner's) face when talking about the process of the smoked cold brew was such a treat. He was beaming when I took my first sip taking pride in his art. You're not paying for coffee, you're paying for time, care, love, and experience. Because I root with every fiber of my being for spots like this to thrive, every now and again, I'm happy to indulge, bring a boogie friend, and treat myself to this really unique Houston gem!

Visited this highly reviewed coffee shop and was greatly pleased by the quality of Coffee and the friendliness of the staff. We ordered to go, but they showed us the value of the tradition and technique and had an amazing cup of coffee. It was so good that we went out of our way to go a second time to get the smoked cold brew, which was an experience and worth the visit

Tried an espresso drink this time; a nice Cortado with a dust of cinnamon. Wow! I just spent a week in Portland, OR and tried many small cafes and roasters, including Stumptown. (Fun trip) However, the flavor, texture and balance of my Cafe Tales drink was as good or better than anything I tried over there. So nice to have a more medium roasted espresso vs the standard burnt dark roast everyone else uses. It takes skill to dial in a good medium or light roast espresso. Ensuring the beans are fresh, water temp, pressure profile, grind size, wt ratio, it's an art. Love it

One of my favorite things was how fragrant the space smelled while I waited for my boba. You could tell there was an exceptional tea aroma lingering despite all the cream and sweetness. The place was exceptionally clean for being so busy, and the workers consistently cleaned as they made the drinks, so you knew you could trust the sanitation here. Drink Design - I have to make a separate comment on how CUTE these drinks were. I loved the intentional sticker placement over the lips and the little carrying handle. You could tell they went the extra mile to make these drinks not just flavorful, but an experience in and of themselves. Even their receipt paper felt luxurious. That sounds ridiculous to point out, but the thought behind every aspect of this place is impeccable. High Mountain Pouchong Tea w. Lemon Juice & Mousse (Creamy Lemon Tart) - After all the sugar I had today, this lemony drink hit the spot with its perfect tartness. The cream had bits of lemon zest in it, adding to the aroma. I tried to adjust the sweetness when I ordered and was told it had a built-in sweetness, but if I found it too sweet, they would happily switch it out for another drink. I felt like I was dealing with Amazon's generous return policy--and luckily, the drink was perfect, so no return was needed! Creamy Mango Tart - Literally like the Lemon Tart, but mango. The inside is mostly white and going for that IG "it spot" vibe. Most people were ordering their drinks that come with a little slice of tiramisu, but we were there to try just the latter! The tiramisu varieties aren't all truly tiramisu (which traditionally has espresso and alcohol), but they're called tiramisu because there are cookies or ladyfingers layered with their mascarpone cream. I tried the Biscoff Tiramisu-- while they could work on their presentation (the filling looked messy and slapped on), the taste was quite nice! Sweet, creamy, and the mascarpone filling was light and not too heavy despite being sweet and indulgent. I'm excited to try the other tiramisu varieties :D I like how the tiramisu comes in its own container instead of scooped into a takeout box because it's a lot less messy + prettier when eating it. Service was really friendly and there is self-serve water available too. Lots of tables for two but they were all taken during my visit. There's a little table outside in the shade if you're willing to sit in the heat. Overall, 4.5 stars for the tiramisu-- will be back to try some more! Check them out next time your sweet tooth calls :)

I love going to coffee shops that have my name in them ;)…read more No but for real, Yemeni and Turkish coffees and teas anyways hit the spot. Pair that with my love of pistachio, and you've got a match made in heaven. This place looks ethnic, modern and clean. There's a painting of a woman on the wall who stares over us as we eat cake. We were lucky enough to come on a gloomy afternoon, my favorite a way to go to a coffee place. I tried a multitude of desserts, and they were all good. We also had four separate drinks, and they were all good. The cheesecake, milk cake and honeycomb bread were all good. The bathrooms were nice and clean. Overall- would definitely go here again!

The pistachio latte was not overpowering at all and you could definitely taste the nuttyness! Not overly sweet which is perfect for me! The pistachio mousse was very thick and rich. My party of friends all enjoyed sampling them both. Our group also tried their Mufawaar medium roast coffee with cardamom & cream (not shown) per the cashier's recommendation. We really did appreciate his rundown of the menu. However, the iced Mufawaar was VERY watery much to our disappointment. Very much everyone in my group's least favorite. The lotus milkcake (not shown) was delicious Interior I will say I was impressed at how big the space was. Very clean, ideal for some work / study. Beautiful patio outside if this Texas heat wasn't so terrible! Overall I have to give it a 4.2~/5. I think their cake selection is great along with their pistachio featured items
