The only reason I went is because a group of friends & I got a house for the weekend in Lancaster, and they wanted to play. If you're not used to playing, it can be a little intimidating when you arrive. Most of the other people there seem to play all the time. They are decked out in tactical gear, have their own airsoft guns, etc., but the staff and everyone else couldn't be more friendly. And once you get on the battlefield and shoot a few people and/or get shot, the nerves settle and it becomes really fun. I would absolutely go again if a situation arose where my friend group decided they wanted to play. But next time, I would probably opt to rent a gun that is a bit better than the standard gun they have for rent. The standard gun you rent has been heavily used, so it tends to misfire, dryfire, jam, etc. It became very frustrating. As well, the people that owned their own guns and equipment had a clear and significant advantage over those of us that did not, so just bear that in mind. 10 out of 10, would absolutely go again.

The things we liked about it: It was a lot of fun, water was clean, floats were large and varied with lots of different activities for the kids to do for all ages, plenty of shade and picnic tables, and beach loungers available. The things we didn't like: Bathhouse was gross, snack shack is unreliable-make sure you bring your own food, grounds were unkempt. If you pay for the observer fee, you're not allowed on the dock. I thought this was unfair. I wasn't going in the water, just wanted to take some photos, but they wouldn't allow it. I did have a life jacket on. With the exception of paddleboard yoga, they are open to organized groups only. We came with our Girl Scout troop. Guppy Gulch is not open to the public. As of August 2023: Pricing: $27/day for swimmers; $10/day for non-swimmers; $10/night per person overnight camping. Check-in begins at 9:30am; the water opens at 10am and the last horn blows at 4:45pm. Overall we had a fun day, but this facility needs a major facelift especially for the rest rooms. The port a potty was cleaner than the bathhouse, enough said!

Formerly Faunbrook Bed & Breakfast, it's now a book-themed hotel, with seven rooms filled with books you can read during your stay. We stayed in Jane's Room - a room inspired by Jane Austen. Not only was the room gorgeous (complete with a great selection of books, picture of Jane above the bed, and a bed draped with red velvet), the bathroom was gorgeous, too. And the room had all the amenities: electric tea kettle, coffeemaker, towels, slippers, and more. They also have a very nice main level with space for reading or sitting by the fire. Just a beautiful building. The hotel is self-check-in style. They text you the day of your stay with the code for the front door and the combination for the lockbox for the key to your room. It didn't take away from the lovely stay. It snowed overnight during our stay, so we woke up to an even more charming hotel. That added to an already wonderful stay. If you're a reader or even if you're not, you can have a great hotel stay at this unique and charming hotel.

We had a wonderful time and the experience was top-notch. My mom attended with us. She has mobility challenges and can't stand for long. She was going to wait in the waiting area on the couch, but he offered to wheel in a chair for her so she could observe. She didn't want to participate, so we hadn't bought her a ticket but they let her come in with us, which I thought was amazing. Two separate, 5 star experiences! Highly recommend!
