If I could go minus I would. Went on Friday the 17th of July. Had the pleasure of the sever spilling hot grease on my Leg so bad two blisters appeared and popped. The owner came over and was rude and came across as cheap and didn't even care. He took off my meal and still served me a bill for my girlfriend. I literally had blood running down the leg as he gives me a song and dance saying if I was this unhappy go to the Hospital he has insurance. Finally he agree to pay for the whole bill after he lied to me and said he told me that from the beginning. All he had to do was come over and say sir we apologize and hope it heals and for that your bill is on the house tonight. No this guy acted cheap and had no idea what to do. Honestly it wasn't bad but I've had much better! It just felt like our food was never in the happy middle. So first our appetizers were very undercooked - the spinach dip and mozzarella sticks. Buffalo wings and onion wings were cooked just fine though. The chips to our dip were extremely stale. When it came to our entrees, the portions were HUGE for a great price so I can give them that. Pretty standard food and at least was hot. Our server was very nice, as it was graduation day for Lindsey Wilson so a little busy. Ambiance was your typical sports bar type. We always go to the big city for a good dining but We decided to try this one to eat for my birthday today.the food is average, my husband had a steak, mine is seafood pasta my garlic bread is 0 points because it is a frozen Texas garlic toast bread. Our waiter is fantastic but the lady who bought our food is mean, rude she slams our plates. In short had a attitude.( a short Mexican woman) I watch her serving the food across our table she didn't slam the plates and she's smiling. I don't need a VIP treatment i just want respect. Food was absolutely fantastic. We ordered an appetizer and I got the salad bar as a side, we wound up taking most of our meals home. You get so much food for your $. The ambiance was amazing, place was decorated for Christmas and it was beautiful. The normal country themed decor is right up my alley. Hey, it's a small town steakhouse. Food was ok, nothing fabulous. Prices ok. Staff pretty good. Cleanliness ok. Was busy on a Monday night, lots of families. Very family friendly. Nice if you have a kids b-day, staff comes out clapping & chanting. Salmon was a great cut but overcooked. Chicken breast was pretty good. Veggies just ok. Burgers & such looked good from a distance. Fried pickles ok too. All in all a good meal out. Prolly not someplace we'd go 'regularly'; but in fairness gave them 4-star as it's a standard relevant to the location. I think to improve they could cut the menu in half, would streamline cooking & allow more quality vs. quantity focus. Just IMO. read more

It was a lot of food, I ended up having enough left for breakfast the next day. It was pretty good, but probably would have been better for dine-in. Based on a couple earlier reviews we almost didn't stop, but so glad we did! Our bacon-wrapped filets were perfectly seasoned and grilled. The loaded baked potatoes were just right, even the coleslaw and green beans were tasty. Our daughter had the chicken Alfredo and loved it. Nice large open space that invites company and conversation. Start the time with their awesome iced tea served in a real glass with adequate volume. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the BBQ sandwich saying it would stand up to any mom and pop BBQ; I had the grilled garlic shrimp which were huge and had a yummy marinade. I think they were Argentinian Red Rock Shrimp. Last but not least, they had a thorough wine list including a premier oaky Chardonnay. Our waiter was superb. There at the ready but not hovering. He readily engaged in conversation which at our age added to the enjoyment. He has a strong work ethic and a drive to save to build his own home and family in his country of origin. New York strip this time . A little over done and not as well flavored as the rib eye but still great. We are spoiled with the rib eye. Salad bar great as always. Best onion rings ever. Absolutley terrible customer service and management. I drive 30 minutes to pick up a to go order that they assured me included all of my food only to find they missed multiple items. Once I realized this after making it home and had to call and come back to get this missing food, they offered zero compensation for the issues. I simply asked for a small concession to cover the aggravation and cost of a second trip to which the manager was too ignorant to understand was the appropriate response. I had eatten at the Black Stallion numerous times over a one month time frame. Approximately 60% of the time orders were correct and the food ok. A big problem is there are some to many people working there and either they don't know English well or at all. On more than one occasion there was problems from making an order which turned out wrong to staff just walking away because they don't understand English. Several times the oders were wrong to very pooly prepared. The last time I was there the steak was so tuff it could have been used for shoes. I complained to the waiter who called some manager I never saw before and he starts off saying there is not much he can do (anyone over 20 has ate out enough to know that is not true), next he insults me stating perhaps i didn't like to which i replied who would enjoy or want such a bad steak, than he says he will take the unconsumable steak off my bill, clearly I did not eat more than a little to try than spit it out leaving in a napkin. Than the manager changes his mind only taking $10 off. This is my worst experience I ever had at any restaurant and to be insulted speaks very poorly for this establishment. It is amzing with so many customers going there they would ever put such a rude and unprofessional person in a management role as the one I had the misfortune to deal with. My wife and I ate there last night, my wife had the cajun catfish plate and I had the fried catfish. We have eaten the fried fish several times and has always been good, but last night it was very disappointing. We both ordered coleslaw, it was terrible, did not taste like it had any vinegar in it, could not eat it, my wife ordered a baked sweet potato. and it was burned. They brought rolls to the table and they were overly browned, the fried catfish was mushy, had not firmness to at all, not at all usual. When the waitress final came back to the table my wife brought the fact that the sweet potato was burned and the coleslaw was not good she asked if she could bring something else in place of the slaw, but we had eaten the half the fish and the meal was so disappointing that we were ready to leave. There was no offer of a discount for such bad food. So we paid the bill and left a tip, we just won't go back and when we want Catfish we can go to Coes Steak house. read more

I've never had a bad meal at Black Stallion and have been there several times. This is a welcome addition to the town of Columbia, Kentucky!

I have tried multiple times to patronize this establishment. I moved to Columbia about three years ago the first couple of times we had dinner there it was acceptable. After that, the service has been horrendous. We like to sit at the bar and have drinks appetizers and dinner. The bartenders are absolutely terrible. Tonight is the last time I will be there. I came in alone after playing golf to have a steak and appetizers and a couple of drinks. I ordered a beer had to ask for a rag to clean the bar. I got my beer waited 15 minutes to order chicken wings. Of course my beer was gone. Finally got another beer. Waited another 10 minutes for the wings to come out which were not chicken wings they're more like pigeon wings the absolute smallest wings I've ever seen in my life. Flavor was OK but absolutely unacceptable. While eating my wings, I needed more napkins. Of course the bartender was nowhere to be found. I had to go to the bathroom and get paper towels out of dispenser to wipe my hands with. When the bartender did appear, I had my credit card ready and ask her if I could pay, she walked the other way and pointed to a bar back and said he'll take care of you. And they both walked away. You can check my receipt. I wrote that she should probably find another job because she sucks at her current job. I will not be back to your establishment. It is absolutely unacceptable. read more

Went here for dinner, started out good, had salad bar and potatoe skins. All of these were decent. When my entree came looked ok, potatoe was sitting too long tasted a little rubbery , filet steak was ordered medium was delivered med well but had some seasonings on it that I really did not like, I took one bite of steak.Talked to manager and he would not take it off the bill. This is my second trip here and was even better than the first. There are way too many options on the menu, but we each managed to choose something we liked. The fried pickles were the best I have had. The slices were large and they were fried perfectly. You could tell they were using fresh grease and not frying the pickles in the same grease that would be used on meats. They weren't salty at all-just right! I got a mushroom and cheese quesadilla. I typically don't eat quesadillas, but decided to give it a chance. They loaded it with mushrooms which was fantastic! My husband was impressed with the angus beef burger. It was cooked wonderfully-just like a steak medium. And it was huge! The prices were so reasonable! We got an appetizer and three entrees for less than $45. The service was good and the atmosphere was too. If you are looking to take a short road trip, this place is worth the drive. read more

Not sure why all the negative comments, I was hesitant to go. A friend recommend this place. We were at the end of our week on the lake and celebrating a friends anniversary. I had the steak and eggs with a salad. It was delicious steak was cooked perfectly as well as the eggs. My friends did order their filet steak medium well. It came out medium rare . When we told the boss about it, he stated that the person he thinks it was , was not using the restroom but fixing his hair. two things, regardless wash your darn hands and more importantly my husband and the other customer know the difference of someone with their penis in their hand at a urinal as opposed to someone in front of the mirror fixing their hair. thank goodness since my husband is in his 50s. I work with a tv crew that's out of state and we had 15 people order takeout. The food was done relatively on time (but again, it's 15 people) and was absolute fantastic. Each order was separated into its own bag with names and utensils so it was easy for us to break for lunch and then get right back to work. Every crew member and talent raved about how good the food was, saying this was the best stop during a week long run in both Ohio and Kentucky. Driving through Columbia today and stopped in the Black Stallion Steak House. We were quickly seated for lunch and our waitress was quick to the table and very friendly. The restaurant was clean with TV's to view in easy to see locations. My wife ordered the sirloin steak and eggs. Her steak was cooked to perfection and had a delicious taste. She received 3 scrambled eggs which were prepared to her liking. They have a salad bar which I took advantage of. The salad bar was clean and the options available were not immense but they had a decent array of options. Each item I had off of the salad bar was fresh and tasty. The portions were generous and the price was very reasonable. A great lunch treat in Columbia KY. read more
