This place always brings back memories, I used to eat here all the time with my parents back in the 1980s. I love their catfish, still the best around. The place is very nostalgic to me, both my parents passed away in 2006, I had not been able to eat there until recently, The place holds so many good memories. Amazing food! I mean the best darn thing is of coarse the catfish! The service was amazing! They for sure took care of us, and a refill was there everytime we needed it! It just too perfect, even the atmosphere felt like home. The bathrooms were very clean for this type of joint! I was traveling the 127 Yard sale with my grandson and friend. We knew were we would eat dinner from the time we started. After treasure hunting for 10 hours we arrived to be greated by friendly service as usual.We started with redneck potato skins cheese and bacon loaded skins what a great start I knew what my grandson would order the country ham dinner with the Mac and cheese plus fries what a plate full of flavor. The fried catfish always has me hooked add some some flap jack style corn bread and fried okra and don't forget to add deviled eggs wow so much food the grandsons friend went with the catfish also would love to have a clone of this restaurant at home I'll be back anytime I get near lake Cumberland. read more

It's a popular place to go eat Catfish is what it is because no one else serves it around here. They are Catfish Fingers with a thick Cormeal Coating that is good but nothing to jump up & down about. We also had the Fried Potatoes which were partially Raw & Chewy & sent them back.That was Embarressing 2 cutomers spitting food into their napkins. The Ratio for the Catfish & Breading is 50-50 on alot of bites. Probably will not return! read more

My husband and I stopped here on the way to Lake Cumberland. The building itself is small and older. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming! Definitely "southern charming". The food was great, of course the catfish is a must! It was golden fried, seasoned to perfection, and tender. We also purchased a steak to go, which was decent; however I would order the catfish over the steak every time! The sides were just ok. For instance the mac and cheese was actually "shells" and cheese, not the best, but not the worst. The deviled eggs were decent as well, a bit bland though. The last time I had Coe's I went with my Papa, that was a long time ago when I was a child. I'm 48 now and sitting in front of me is a large catfish dinner I just picked up as a to go order. When I was young, I absolutely loved Coe's. Let's see if it does my memory justice. My sides are pinto beans and deviled eggs. Deviled eggs were very tasty. Pintos need seasoning, they taste bland. But that doesn't matter because it's the catfish that I come to this steakhouse to eat. It the only thing I've ever eaten at Coe's. Alright, let's take my tastebuds on a stroll down memory lane, time for the catfish. I can almost see Papa sitting across from me. The staff is awesome. Wonderful people. Been here a few times. Was hesitant to write this because I like the place. The catfish and skins are my go to. Place has always been good until recently. They must have gotten a new cook. Everything was over cooked and portions were halved. I'll give it one more try and go from there. If they go back to the way it was I'll continue going. The place was hopping, yet the waitresses found time to come by and get to know us and brought rolls and drinks. The food was excellent and service was pretty quick. We have been going to Coe's for over 20 years. We go through that area of KY at least a couple of times a year and this place never disappoints. I love their catfish, coleslaw, and especially their home fries. The fish is always very tasty (not fishy)...it's lightly breaded and has NEVER been greasy. The coleslaw is different, but I think it's because it is so fresh and light tasting as opposed to having a lot of mayo. I love it !! The home fries are wonderful. They fix them with green peppers and onions on request and WOW they are awesome. I'm not a pie eater, but the folks that I am with generally get the coconut cream pie, if available, and say it is the best they've ever had. They also like the butterscotch pie. The staff is great and couldn't be more friendly and helpful. I'm heading down that way in mid-May and looking forward to stopping at Coe's for dinner. read more

K-love on the radio, and catfish on my plate. The fish was not fishy as some catfish can be, super white and flaky. The batter was like and well seasoned, not heavy and greasy. Visited Coe's on a Saturday night during the dinner hour. We walked in and were seated. Ordered the cat fish dinner which came with salad, baked potato, and a vegetable for only $6.99! And, I had fresh coffee for $.94 which is really awesome! The food was not greasy and was really delicious. And, the service was great. My coffee cup was never empty. Highly recommend this place for dinner. The price was right and the food yummy. I only wish I had tried some of their home made peach pie. read more

My husband and I ate at Coe's Steakhouse today for lunch. I am not sure why it is called a steakhouse. We had the catfish and chicken tenders. They were both overcooked. The slaw tasted like cabbage instead of slaw and the cornbread was flat and tasteless. I had the Waldorf salad and I took one bite which tasted spoiled. This is not home cooked food, but open up a bag and deep fry to a dark brown. The service was good, but the place was not clean and the ceiling tile going to the restroom was about to fall. We would have been better off going to any fast food place and not have spent twenty-four dollars plus tip. We will not be back ever! read more
