My wife and I were heading home from visiting my folks for Christmas. We stopped here to have a little bit of lunch and I'm glad we did. My wife got this steak nachos that was loaded with steak and cheese and onions and mushrooms and sour cream and lettuce. She really enjoyed her lunch. I got the cheeseburger and french fries. The burger was just as I asked, and it was very tasty. Our server was a very nice young lady who was a tenant and even got me a to go cup of tea. Do not go there! Cheap management and they don't care if they spilled grease on your leg and it blistered up. Owners are horrendous

WALKING RIGHT PAST CUSTOMERS ( that just so happen to have color to there skin ) they close at 10 pm (now 9:12 pm) and we arrived at 8:57 pm and have yet to receive a drink or been greeted by a server . Absolutely unprofessional for an establishment. It just makes ZERO sense how a party of almost 20 gets sat and greeted immediately when they were sat after us.... (Can u guess their skin color?) My girlfriend is a manager in the restaurant business so she can understand being busy, but we was SAT BEFORE THE 20 top!! We ended up leaving after not being greeted for 25 mins. They sent a Hispanic server to our table before we left and we just asked for a manager. Then the manager came over (also Hispanic) and he offered to cover the meal and we politely declined saying McDonald is up the street. Just moving to the area we decided to try this steakhouse. Charlie our server was awesome. I had the Catfish (which was excellent) my husband had the Bourbon BBQ Bacon Burger (which was huge) and excellent as well. The only drawback was they had our choice of Dos Equis Amber on the menu which we ordered only to find out they no longer carry it. Overall this was a nice welcoming experience. read more

The food was good, the rolls small but were very good but when I asked for one to eat with my food the waiter said sure but never did I bring more. We visit Monticello a couple times a year. I used to work in the area and we tried this place for the first time. Other reviews have been all over the place but we decide to give it a try. The service was great. Super friendly! And the food was amazing! The prices were even better! We were with a large group and it makes it nice to be able to afford to take them somewhere nice all together. And the place was beautifully decorated and clean. Came back here on 6/17/23 , a year later and order the same same steak, btw my last review took place in 2021 if you notice there's a photo of my receipt showing prices from '21 there's nearly a 40% increase in 3 years! Anyway back to my review was just there Saturday and the steak was absolutely horrible! Mind you this was 2 years in the making. How can a place do this? Or do I have terrible luck? 2 steaks 3 years apart and both are horrible but at least this time they comped me $18 and I didn't eat the steak, they if I wanted another steak I said no because who needs 3 in a row? When you cut into your steak you don't want to see grey or that white stringy stuff cartilage muscle gristle that's what I got! Dined for the first time Saturday, October 28th. Great experience. Our table ordered Ribs, Chicken Parm and Ribeye tips as well as potato skins for an appetizer. Everyone's meal was delicious. Made a special trip here with the parents and was not disappointed. I had the chicken taco salad. It was HUGE with lots of tender flavorful chicken. The service was fast and friendly, all extra requests were brought out right away...those rolls will need some extra butter. I ate here yesterday. I got the fried catfish, it tasted funny and weird. I didn't think anything of it. I ate about 3/4 of the catfish. Left that night feeling weird and off. Woke up the next morning feeling fine. A few minutes after I took a shower my stomach started feeling weird. I suddenly started feeling overwhelmingly tired. I started throwing up everywhere. I threw up about 20 times, no exaggeration and almost passed out. Went to the doctor to see what was going on and turns out I have food poisoning. The catfish was the last thing I had ate. Their food is delicious: it can be a very long wait thou. The longest Iv waited for something simple as curly fries, and cheese sticks is 45 minutes. The service is friendly as well. I would give this place a negative five stars if I could. Waited almost an hour on a piece of leather they call medium rare steak, the spinach dip was Watery and my husbands ribs were so tough they bent his fork. Asked for a manager and they said "what do you want me to do about it" we've are there 3 times and the food has been terrible every time. On the area visiting and decided to have dinner here. Wait staff was not in a hurry about anything...seating, drinks,apps.... Ordered steak tips and ribeye with potato skin app. The skins were great, crunchy shell, soft fluffy potato inside. Steak tips were chewy and seasoned more in a fajita style. We had a pretty horrible experience with our waitress tonight. I want to give props for the food, I bought a filet mignon cooked med rare, but came out almost a blue, waitress never came back. Young blonde girl who wasn't even a server came and helped me. She promptly took care of my steak and everything was good. Our waitress never once came back to see how we were doing or how our food was. She sent the other girl to even give us our check. I really don't understand what the waitress was doing, I asked the young girl where our server was, she said she was standing inside. If you ever wonder why you don't make tips, how about you pay attention to your tables. I tipped the other girl 28 bucks just because she was amazing! This place would get a five star review if it wasn't for the horrible waitress, an way undercooked steak. Ok I have a system for the local restaurants, 3 strike rule. Well, the black stallion only has 2 strikes they made it up today when I went there lunch today. The ribeye was great baked potato and asparagus. The appetizer I had was the bacon cheddar fries were really good. Well it is a pretty good place to eat, not many restaurants in this area and only steak house around. Fish tacos were amazing. Service was bad family was gathered here for dinner and I had to go get own napkins , move empties to another table so food would fit on table.
