Shoes off at the entrance and you check in with the reception desk. They have cubbies for you belongings and the whole store front has clothing and accessories for sale. The yoga studio was already warm, but not hot yoga level. We used a bolster and two blocks for our session. Christina was really good addressing us to listen to our bodies and not necessarily her voice, because we all know that we're built different individually. I had a really relaxing time and definitely stretched out parts that needed a little extra work. I felt my toxins left my body last night and I was revive. The teacher, Nancy (who was filling in for the day) was excellent at explaining how to transition and set up for each pose. She provided hands on corrections (which I desperately needed) and encouragement. The class (yoga level 1) was manageable and definitely gave me a good stretch. As someone who has previous pilates experience, it's so refreshing to come to a studio where the teachers actually value and teach good form, while making sure you get a good workout and follow social distancing (masks on, everything's disinfected, windows open, etc.). At the same time, there's a great balance for beginners to get comfortable with the movements and equipment, since classes are so small. I brought a friend to her first equipment class a few weeks ago and she had a great time, too. Over zoom, I've had a blast with Dana and Brian. I wasn't really a fan of mat pilates classes before, but they've both taught me new equipment-free exercises and exercises with resistance bands that have helped me stay strong at home.

The phone number on the website doesn't work. The phone number on yelp doesn't work. The email either doesn't work or no one responds to the emails. If you look at the schedule, be sure to click through to the "book a class" to make sure its not cancelled (although that's not a sure thing, I've checked every day and it was surprise cancelled today, no warning, just a bunch of people waiting outside the studio confused). If you ask for a make-up session, it can only be approved by the owners who are difficult to reach. Try to find something more dependable. When Sankalpa first opened up, I wasn't sure how I felt about the combination of yoga and pole in…read moreone space (didn't realize that was a thing) but when I finally made it out to a class, everything made sense. The space feels so serene between the "jungle wall" of the pole room, well-equipped locker room, and plants everywhere. The only class I've taken (a few times) is Pole 4 with Estee. I've had her as an instructor at a few other pole studios, so it was nice to have some level of familiarity with her teaching style. The weird details I like about Sankalpa are the microphone headset worn by the instructor and the water refill station next to the front desk. I've made a few friends at the studio who come here more often than I do. It's a little far of a drive for me (plus traffic) because of where I live, but if you can, definitely check out their variety of yoga, dance, and pole classes. Generally explore all the spots around Denver to experience different teaching styles and communities. Hooray for fitness!

While he is very talented and skilled, I did not come to a dance class to be chastised. We are grown adults and did not deserve to be talked to the way he talked to us. Dance class should be a safe space. There was a moment in the class that we were unable to hear the directions he was giving us as he was talking over the music. We began to dance the choreo we learned, but apparently, he advised us to simply watch him at that time. After we were done performing our 2 minute choreo, he chastised us for not listening to him. We were simply unable to hear...and it honestly made me regret taking his class and making the drive down there during my very limited free time.
