It is also too warm in there. I was not all that pleased with the yoga classes except the fab gong class but it was her last day. I tried the T'ai Chi class and fell in love with the grace of Rasoul the instructor and a student whom I later learned had been a dancer. I bought a package of 20 classes and stated my intent was for TC only. Sadly I was very disappointed and upset that students lead the class for most of the time and the instructor sits on his fanny. I called to explain my dilemma and Barbara Adams( owner) said I should address it with Rasoul. I tried but to no avail. He is inflexible and so is the owner. Where is their Namaste?

It's a nice and HOT studio but…read moremy issue is they allow teachers and students to wear their shoes INSIDE the studio room... what?!! That's like basic yoga to not have your dirty shoes inside. And the next thing is they have an old water fountain (like from grade school), the water is always lukewarm and tastes terrible. Other than those two things, it's a really great spot, but be prepared that it's hotter than any other class you've ever taken in your life.

I came for the power flow class at 5pm with Shawnee and it was a great class! It was slightly heated and had 4 students and it was just a lovely, juicy, hip opening flow. It made my heart sing! I love that the studio is brand new and a similar style as the one in Midtown. The floor is black foam mat covering and the walls with beautiful artwork. If you've been to the Midtown location, the vibe in here is similar and lovely! There are two large bathrooms in the back. Cubby holes available to store your items at the front of the studio. Small area up front with merch for sale. BSY is a donation based studio, so pay what you can! I am an annual member and get both Midtown and PV locations to practice yoga! Sweet! When I am up in this area, I'll definitely be back! Also a teacher with a huge heart who gave great adjustments! I hope to be able to take Jim's class before I leave Arizona as I heard great things about his classes as well. All in all, I loved this class and studio - the students themselves were kind and friendly, and the studio is stocked with some solid yoga equipment, from plush bolsters to Manduka yoga blocks (I LOVE these). The loaner mat was a high quality Liforme mat- I've always wanted to try one of these and was not disappointed! If you live in the area, definitely take advantage of their 2 week unlimited yoga deal. I discovered Svaha Yoga Center while babysitting friends house in North Scottsdale. The day I…read morearrived to my friends house, I looked up yoga studios in the area, and found that Svaha Yoga Center had the grand opening that weekend, so I decided to try it out. The moment I walked in the studio it just felt good, I loved the clean and modern look, and perfect natural light. I was welcomed by Katherine De Boda the owner and teacher. She's a wonderful spirit and a fantastic teacher with clear instructions that helped me further my yoga practice in just a week of practicing with her. I have been doing yoga for 8 years off and on, and have felt stuck in my practice, I am amazed how much I learned in that week of practice, and am again excited about my yoga practice, and learning more about the eastern philosophy and yoga in general. The interest in eastern philosophy and Sanskrit may have been triggered by teacher Matt Rulli, I enjoyed his "Intro Into Primary Series" (Ashtanga Yoga) class as well. My favorite class hands down is the Sunday "Ujjayi Flow" with live bongo drummer, usually taught by Katherine. Highly recommend this studio, I miss it already.
