His staff was friendly and they definitely went above and beyond setting up my families home in a very short timeline. This was my first experience having to deal with managing an estate and I put my full trust in this company. My families home came with its own set up of issues, and Nick and his awesome team members definitely had their hands full but were able to navigate through it. ( Thanks guys!!) I got quotes from a couple different local estate companies and Canyon Estate was the most expensive for their services in comparison to other companies ( they received 55% and we got 45%) and they did charge us $1500 to stage and prep the house, but it was worth it to me since I was living out of state and they arranged everything for us from start to finish. I arrived about an hour before the estate sale ended and there were cars lined up and down the streets and the house was packed with people. We opted out of the final junk removal service since we wanted to save some money. Overall it was great experience during a stressful experience.

When I asked for a bill of sale or even a basic receipt, the owner refused to give me one. Instead, she handed all the paperwork to someone else who picked up the car--someone she appears to have a personal relationship with. It seems the bill of sale may have even been issued in his name, despite me being the actual buyer. When I followed up and asked her for a copy of the bill of sale, she told me to never contact her again, accused me of being "crazy," and then claimed she no longer has any record of the transaction because she deleted everything six months after the sale. That is not only completely irresponsible but raises serious concerns about the legitimacy and legality of how she operates. This was not just unprofessional--it was shady, hostile, and possibly fraudulent. I've been left with no documentation, no proof of purchase, and no support whatsoever. Stay far away from this business. Do not trust them with your money or your property.

I have hired 1st Stage for multiple properties over the years. In the past, they generally did…read moregreat work and I was impressed with their staging style, professionalism, availability, and pricing. That said, my most recent experience was disappointing. I had them stage a modern townhouse in Costa Mesa near the beach. Unfortunately, the staging style they chose did not match the aesthetic of the property at all. I am not a designer, so I typically trust their vision and let them take the lead. This time, I reached out to their team and simply asked if we could swap out a few items to make the space feel more modern or beachy. I was told I would need to pay a restocking fee. That response was frustrating. I had referred them many jobs and clients in the past, and while the fee itself was not a large amount, it felt unnecessary and left a bad impression. They did eventually waive the fee, which I appreciated, but the situation already felt mishandled. Fast forward a bit. The property did not sell, and I requested that it be de-staged. Their team came out a few days later and removed the furniture. A few months after that, they emailed both me and my client, who was the actual party to the staging contract, claiming there was a prorated balance due for a few extra days the furniture remained in the home. The amount was under $400. The contract was between my client and 1st Stage, not me, so I was confused as to why I was included. Shortly after, Mark Sutton emailed me directly asking if I could take care of the payment by the next day. I found that extremely unprofessional. Agents are the ones who bring them business, and asking me to personally pay an invoice that had nothing to do with me showed a real lack of business judgment. I expressed my disappointment with their customer service, and the only response I received was a payment link. If you are looking for a stager who truly feels like a partner and values long-term relationships, I would think twice before using this company. In my experience, once an issue arises, you are treated like just another number, and preserving relationships does not seem to be a priority.

My friend who lived there decided to leave the home mostly due to the rudeness of Nathalie and it was like she wanted total control of the process. Stephanie and her crew spent two weeks at my mother's house preparing for and conducting an estate…read moresale after all heirs had received and removed their bequests of personal property that had been situated inside the house. Besides being quoted a fair price out of sale proceeds for the company, the financial return to the estate on sold items was substantial, and, perhaps even of more importance, a house cluttered with all manner of furniture and decorative objects was totally cleared to make it almost ready for sale. Not only were Stephanie and her staff hard working and professional, they were very honest. Coins, dental gold, and other possible valuable items of personal property found by staff members to have been squirreled away in remote places of the large house and garage were turned over to me as trustee for personal inspection to make sure that they were consciously intended to be offered for sale as part of the estate sale. In a few instances, they were not. I was physically present for most of the sale, and noted that items were fairly priced and nicely displayed, entrances and exits were always carefully watched by staffers, and prospective buyers were channeled from room to room in a very orderly and organized fashion. Finally, right after the estate sale's conclusion, 6 workers arrived at no charge to the estate to pick up and deliver to a charity all items that did not sell. It took 5 truck loads to accomplish this and take the house down to bare walls and floors, paving the way for some needed repairs, reflooring, recarpeting, and repainting of interior surfaces just before listing the house for sale. Now the house has just been sold, and escrow should close in a matter of a few days. I credit Home Sweet Home for largely making this possible, by facilitating house clearing and providing most of the funds, in the form of estate sale proceeds, needed to get the home in shape for a quick sale. I have been to other estate sales in the Inland Empire, none of which were as organized or as well conducted as what I experienced with Home Sweet Home Estate Sales. This company has earned my highest recommendation.

Uh, sorry, I don't need to pay $5 for a used shirt...I was intending to buy 15 shirts...she would not budge on the price though. They will be left with hundreds of men's shirts, pants, ties, coats, sweaters because no one would want to pay their prices! You'd think they'd figure out that clothes were not selling...NEWS FLASH I can buy these shirts at garage sales for 50 cents to $2. Lots of other things were way too high...a lot of people left empty handed. Don't waste your time with these folks, you'll be sorry! No business sense at all. In response to your reply about pricing belongings of a loved one too low... I went to an estate sale today where the shirts were $1 each on the first day, half off today, so 50 cents. That doesn't mean the loved one wasn't cared about. Designer labels perfect condition. In your case, there were so MANY clothes...2 large closets/rooms. I mean, knowing you had an abundance, you could have at least compromised a little.How about people who drive a long ways to get to your sale, park a long way down a narrow street and walk, only to leave empty handed? No prices were posted either. Some people, like me, are unable to go back on the last day...I live too far or just can't fit it in. It's not like the clothes were flying out the door, I was the only one even looking at clothes. But most of the items, not just the clothes, were way overpriced...all would agree on that.
