I came in for a teeth cleaning, x-rays, and check-up, and I received excellent service. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and professional, and their technology is state of the art. I feel like I'm in very good hands here!

Being 23 and having no risk factors, I politely declined. I was then told it wasn't optional and all patients had to get this x-ray that wasn't completely covered by insurance and earned the clinic $300 a pop. This is dishonest to try and force people to get a scan. I tried declining again and was told I had to do it for "legal reasons." It seems there's no worry about the legality of a procedure that's "not optional" and only a concern about saving the dentist from getting sued no matter how much extra radiation it takes. It wasn't until I said no 3 different times that the hygienist agreed to postpone the scan until "next time." I wouldn't be surprised if they've forced many people to get this scan who don't really want it but don't feel like no is an option. This is a huge problem for informed consent. Several weeks later they told me my experience was untrue and they scan only costs $42 (??) and didn't mention anything about how they'd tried forcing me to get the scan during my visit. As a patient it feels very deceiving to be told by your dentist office that what they told you while you were there wasn't actually true and they were just overcharging the "real" price. It also feels very deceiving to be told the American Dental Association recommends every patient pay for a panoramic x-ray every 3 years and then not be able to find evidence of this recommendation anywhere on the ADA website. It feels even more deceiving when the recommendation you find on the ADA website is in fact nearly opposite of what your dentist says it is. Even if a dentist decides they would like to have their own schedule of routine imaging, it is frightening when they fight against a patient declining a service. I would be wary of trusting what they tell you at this dentist office.

Everyone is friendly and welcoming and Dr. Kevin is very informative. I also really liked how he thanks his staff repeatedly as well as the patients in his care, and the parents for bringing them in an allowing him to treat the patients. Based on my first experience today, I was impressed that he spent quality time with each patient and their parent, he was able to fit us in for sealants rather than make us schedule another appointment. The only issue I had was that the checkout lady gave me a significantly higher price for the sealants than Dr. Kevin mentioned. He specifically mentioned that our insurance covers them, she tried charging me $95. I came home to find my treatment plan and it's only $8. She charged me for fluoride which I think is covered also. But I accepted that even tho I think I was still overcharged for services my insurance covers. We'll see what our EOB says. Office was clean, and I watched them clean after every patient. Definitely happy we chose Alpine Kids for our pediatric dentist.

My last visit was for a cleaning for all four of my children which I made 6 months ago/last year. Before the visit, they confirmed my appointment vis text and that I would be doing self-pay because my insurance had expired, and due to our financial circumstances, we do not have dental insurance this year. WHEN I ARRIVED, I was told the cost of the visit. I was already there and known there would be a cancellation fee at that point, so I felt like it was too last to cancel or change my mind. I was already emotional that morning from other personal struggles, unknown to the staff, and throughout the visit I was holding back tears with the overwhelming financial burden. This unexpected cost just tipped my emotions and I spent the rest of the visit trying not to cry. While each staff member was doing their job and asking me their routine questions, I was short in my responses as I mentally was trying to figure out the best way to pay and texting my husband about what to do at the same time. I left the appointment embarrassed and hurt. A few days later, I called to set up my kids necessary cavity appointment & hopes to ask for financial aid. On the phone the lady told me that I was not allowed back because I had "offended" the employees and made them "uncomfortable" -- I was SHOCKED. I was the one that was embarrassed and felt like none of the front office ladies even gave me an ounce of sympathy or concern but instead just watched me cry. After the call, I even reached out to the Dentist and carefully explained my side. I had no intention of offending anyone at the office and hoped that as a valued, consistent client, he would be more understanding. I had never had a problem with any of the employees there ever. Even though he responded kindly, I am still not allowed back. I am extremely hurt. Why should I be judged by my worse day, rather than given the benefit of the doubt for all my years of loyalty and kindness. My review is not meant to destroy this good business. I simply hope the next person the staff struggles with is handled more carefully - with a little more empathy and little less judgement.

He also had a significant upper lip tie that we decided to have revised since he was already going under anesthesia. We got there early (they take them based on age since they are fasting) and the nurse anesthetist met with us and answered all our questions. Then they brought out a goodie box so he could pick out a prize while they sneakily gave him a shot to zonk him out. I read books to him while he fell asleep, then he went back. Procedure was quick and they took great care of him. Dr. Burt was the one who did the revision and fixed his tooth and he was so kind. He even sent me a text later that night to check on the kiddo. My son had no discomfort at all from the laser revision. After the anesthesia wore off he acted like nothing happened and went about his day and was eating and drinking normally with no issue. It's been a couple of weeks now and healed up nicely.
