Had planned on an outing with residents to taste beer and confirmed with the manager or owner and he was going to talk with them about the process of making beer and the difference of all of them. Came at 3:30 (they open at 3) and nobody was here to open. Sign on the door said closed but online said they should be open. Im frustrated and disappointed. Would definitely not recommend this place. Been here twice but the latest was St Patrick's Day 2026. We stopped by with another couple or for beers. We had three rounds and spent over $80 for mediocre beers. At 8PM (evidently closing time on Tuesday) the bartender started shoeing us out although it was evident we were finishing up our beers, this was literally 8:05PM. We will not return to this place and hoping the owners take note. It would have been very easy to have treated us with more respect for us to leave with a positive outlook on this place. Bartender was the weak link, I would reassess having him on staff. Recently relocated to Tucson and looking for a brewery to call our watering hole. Quickly realized this was not it. Great Beer In A Relaxed Atmosphere We visited on a Tuesday afternoon, taking a break from a little shopping. It's located in an industrial area, a little hard to spot the first time there, but worth the trip. You enter into a large taproom, bar to the right and plenty of low and high top seats and tables. Simple bagged snacks are available to munch while you enjoy some beer. All beers are made by them, in sizes of 1/2 and full pints and growlers. I tried a pint of VIP, a vanilla porter and it was tremendous. Great vanilla and smooth. Tasters of any of their beers are gladly served. The bartender recommended a BlackRock and Tan and putting my trust in her hands, I had her mix what she thought was the best combo. I think she mixed the SUN dry Irish stout with Fairway, a rye blonde and it was very tasty. There's a fairly large selection of games that patrons can bring to their tables to make their visit more enjoyable. During our visit a group of three younger folks were enjoying beers and playing dominoes. A couple with two little kids came in, shared a flight and played some of the games with their kids. As the afternoon got later, more people came in. The bartender was very personable and she knew the beers. I did see on an events board that they have karaoke and trivia on some days and I'm sure that helps draw in beer lovers. Give them a visit, stay for a beer or two. read more

Came here to study, awesome place! Bartender was awesome and helpful, I ended up getting an Orangesicle beer that was so good! One of the coolest parts was a poster in the bathroom, which explained different code words you could tell your bartender if you needed help getting away from someone in the establishment or getting an Uber. I absolutely loved this place! I used to go for trivia on Thursday nights. Friendly people, very clean, and a nice atmosphere. Totally unpretentious and welcoming.Ample safe parking. There was usually a food truck out front, and they had Uncle Bob's cheese popcorn and a few other snacks. Coke and other sodas available, which I really appreciated. Sometimes there's a line at the bar to order, but it moves quickly and care is taken to give you a perfect beer. There's a selection of games available, and there are times where you receive a discount on your check for playing one. That's kind of neat! They also have potlucks, which sounds like fun. Oh, the beer, you ask? It was excellent. I tried the S.U.N. Stout and the V.I.P. Vanilla Porter, and my dad favored their Dangeriuce. I would come here all the time if I could bring my dog. Hopefully someday they'll put in a patio, or their landlord will have a chance of heart and reverse the ban on dog friends. This place is not easy to find! I had the address in my GPS and got to the area, but couldn't find Building 1664 right away. The building is off from the main entrance road into the industrial park, so you don't see the main entrance. It's also not that well lighted at night, either. However, once inside I was welcomed to gentle instrumental music and about eight people throughout the building. I sat at the counter so that I had someone to talk to, and so that I didn't need to get up from my seat to order another beer from the bartender. I had just gotten done hiking the Bug Springs trail north of Tucson and should have eaten before coming here because there were no food trucks last Saturday night over Labor Day weekend. The bartender Chris made me a fresh batch of popcorn and talked proudly of the business, giving me recommendations to match my taste. I had a pint of El Heffe (infused with green chili, but didn't find the chili strong enough!) and a flight of two porters and two cream ales. All were very tasty and light; I wouldn't know which one to recommend more. All were on the sweet side. I didn't want to drink much more since I hadn't eaten yet and didn't want to drive off under the influence, but I will be back the next time I hike near town. Next time I will also bring some food to eat inside, as one can order elsewhere and eat inside. There is a Naranja Sessions IPA I want to try next time. Blackrock Brewers is a great place to go and sample beer. First, I really like the atmosphere as it seems that there are many friendly neighborhood regulars. In this aspect, it reminded me of my travels in Europe where it is not uncommon to see an entire family at the pub. The owner, Tony is really nice and helpful. The beer selection is robust that should offer something for everyone's taste. My favorites were the Vanilla Porter and the Tartan 99 Scottish Ale. We had such a great night here at Blackrock brewers! We got two flights of 4! Great deal and best way to explore new beers. Great environment. There's board games, darts, and pinball machines. As much as I love craft beer and local breweries, it pains me that I don't love this place. I'm really only giving them 2 1/2 stars, because that's where they land, smack dab in the middle for me. To start with, I really don't like where you have to order at the bar, only all the bar seats are taken, making the bar/bartender almost inaccessible. If the beer was great, I could look past this, but it's not. I was with co-workers and a couple of them got flights and made that "bitter beer face" and comments like, "I guess I could choke this one down". I had the Baja Sol (West Coast IPA) and the Double Rock (Imperial IPA), neither of which blew me away. Add to that: the location is hard to find and it's not in my neck of the woods. I dunno... I may give them another chance because I really want to like this place. There are too many cons and not enough pros for me to go out of my way to go here. read more

Being from Colorado it has been difficult to find a brewery I enjoy. Being here I feel like I'm back home. The ONLY thing that could make the experience better for me is if the landlord would allow dogs in here! Not a big deal though. This brewery is on the other side of town from me about 40-45 minutes away, based on their large beer selection I decided to give them a try. Sadly, I didn't think the trip was worth it. I was not fond of any of the beers I tried. The sour was the best, but a bit on the fruity side. The tasting room is a nice size and they have games and darts. Our server was Chrystal, she was rather indifferent and not very friendly. I kind of felt like they didn't really care if we were there or not. There are so many other brewiers closer to my home that I can frequent, I won't be returning here. read more

I really enjoy the whole yoga-and-beer movement that has sprouted up. My regular yoga class was cancelled last Saturday, and I happened upon the Beer+Yoga offered here with an easy Facebook search. This is a newer place so I wasn't sure how many people were privy to it yet. The yoga class was good, but I won't go into that, because I'm reviewing Blackrock. I had contact with this biz via Facebook to confirm the class was going on, and they were very responsive and are good at keeping their events updated. There was one guy behind the bar when we arrived. He was super nice and welcoming and seemed genuinely happy to have people there. They had some interesting beers on tap, a variety to seemingly suit many different moods and tastes. I had the vanilla porter, which was pretty solid, and I believe my friend had the 99 Shilling. I enjoyed my beer and had a sip of my friend's and liked hers as well. The bartender also popped some popcorn for us as we enjoyed our beers. I noticed they had several games for guests to play as well. It seems like a cool spot to hang out. I'm glad I came in, as I'd not heard much about it previously and being tucked away in a business park, you're unlikely to happen upon it. read more

It's nice that there is a new brewery on the east side. Unfortunately, their beer is just average. The hoppy beers are too bitter and lack hop flavor and aroma. Some of the lighter beers are decent. I like their setup inside, which is spacious. Also, everyone is pretty nice, but they don't seem to know much about brewing if you ask a question. Loving that we finally have a brewery on the Eastside! The location is spectacular - I love that I can grab a beer on the way home from work. The beer is good (I'm not a total fan of everything, but everyone I've taken here have been impressed). The service has its good days and not so good days... some days things are spectacular, others (like last time), there's no one behind the bar for a good 5+ minutes as a line is growing extensive. The vanilla porter is spot on delicious. I love IPAs and both of Blackrock's did not disappoint. The berry infused cream ales are great for a light, refreshing and crisp taste. My favorite was the raspberry and the peach was great too. The staff is friendly. I enjoyed having the Green Fairy Pastries food truck outside Wed. night, as I love to pair cake + beer. They have a booklet of food companies nearby who deliver so you can bring in your own food if you want to. Glad to have a brewery with a nice selection of beers on the East side of town. read more

I like to call this brewery a hidden little east side gem. The barkeep is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly! He makes you feel welcome! They have a good selection of beer and even have rootbeer for those DDing for the night. They rotate food trucks on different days. On days they don't have food trucks you can bring in your own takeout or order delivery. They offer things like game and singles nights, comedy shows, live music and more. It's a little tucked away but totally worth finding! I do wish they would add a refrigerated/bottled section with more cider offerings as I'm not big on beer. I will say that we loved the super chill atmosphere and even when our party got a little loud (laughing and joking) while playing jenga they were not bothered at all and seemed very happy to have us there. Due to this alone they will continue to receive our patronage over some of the other more popular but less welcoming breweries near us. They have a green chile flavored beer that's insane!
