I love this little hidden gem. Anytime, I come to or am just driving through Tucson, I enjoy making a pit stop here. It is right off of I10, which makes it an easy convenient stop. They had probably 6 sours on tap. The bartender let me taste several. I don't remember which one exactly I liked the most, but I ordered a pint. I ordered the pork tamales and they came with chips, which were delicious. I've ordered the tamales before in the past and they were OK. Super Selection of Beers In my pursuit of visiting all the brewers in Tucson this winter, I visited 1912 had some great beer. It's located in an industrial park and well worth taking the time to find it. I led off my tasting adventure with a Mescalero ($8.00/ 16 oz). A 7.8% ABV Stout that was delicious. A touch sweet and silky smooth. I tasted the Del Bac version of this same stout, 12% ABV, and it fits right in with other imperials aged in whiskey barrels. I followed this stout with a Weapons Check ($6.00/16 oz), an Irish red ale at 4.7% ABV. Not hoppy and very tasty. It was a nice warm day when we visited and we were happy that they had a outdoor area set up on the parking lot with picnic tables so we could enjoy our drinks in the sun. A very comfortable taproom with knowledgeable bartenders and a variety of games available to pass the time as you enjoy their offerings. read more

This is one of my favourite breweries in Tucson. The owner is a military veteran and offers a discount to veterans and retirees. They have a wide selection of brews that will appeal to most anybody. Initially when I started going here I was not a fan of sours but they converted me with their Naughty Naranja @ 12%. The owner Allen is very friendly and has even given me a tour of his facility. It was very enlightening to see the process from start to finish. One thing that is pretty cool is you can buy a drink and pay it forward for a military member. You can purchase your own copper tankard mug to use when you are there that will earn you discount on your drinks. Within the last month they have made an outdoor patio seating area. This is good because they are enforcing social distance rules and this is a great time to be outside to enjoy the weather. If you are a craft brew enthusiast's and enjoy sour beers this is definitely the place to go.They are gaining popularity state wide because I have seen some of their signature brews in Phoenix, Flagstaff, and Sedona establishments. read more

This was the first brewery I visited when I began tasting all the Tucson beers over two years ago. This is a small brewery just off the Loop, the 54-mile circular multi-use paved path around Tucson, so we planned a second visit here yesterday after walking six miles with our dogs. This place specializes in sours, which we don't care for, but there are enough standard beers that are good. I had a hefeweizen and then a coffee-chocolate stout on this visit Sunday afternoon, and enjoyed the patio where the dogs rested in the shade. Our server was friendly and attentive. I had asked for permission to park my car in the lot for the time we walked the Loop. She said "no problem!" and 2.5 hours later she remembered me and asked how the walk went. This is the only brewery within short distance of The Loop, so it gets special kudos for proving adult refreshments along a busy path. read more

Terrific vibe with friendly helpful service. The place is clean and tidy, but with so much character. We love the names of the beers and the big chalkboard sharing all the goods. We did a flight of 6 tasters, every one of them better than the one before. So many choices - each one delicious. They are dog-friendly too and our pup loved the experience. Good news and bad news. It's been a while since I have felt called to leave a review at a restaurant. Quick backstory... We drove in from San Diego... And I was looking for a craft beer bar that also had food. This place was the number one rated restaurant that offered food and craft beer... And it was only a quarter of a mile from our hotel Right off the bat, I love the vibe... The chalkboard craft beer selection was what I would expect from a highly rated craft beer restaurant. I ordered the Hazy IPA... It was exactly what I was looking for after driving six hours to get to Tucson from San Diego. Now the bad news. I ordered off their pizza menu. My wife and I shared two pizzas (they are 9 inch personal size only). We ordered the vegetarian and a meat lovers style. After being so happy with the beer selection... I was expecting the same level of quality with the pizza. What we experienced was beyond a letdown. it appears they use premade crust? I can honestly say that I have had better frozen pizza from 7Eleven. You have got to be kidding me. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give those pizzas a 3 (three). The cheese is totally processed, the vegetables are frozen... Maybe... And the crust tasted like cardboard... Actually, I have tasted cardboard that tasted better than their pizza crust. The only reason I give it a three, is that the pizza did have a crunch. In a world where we have daily pizza reviews on social media, I hope, seriously, with due respect, that this establishment's owners would go back to the drawing-board. Come up with pizza that will match the quality of their craft beer. I will definitely come back to this bar for the craft beer. My wife and I visited 1912 Brewing Company on a Sunday afternoon with another couple. It was close to where we were, so we decided to drop in on a whim. You'd hardly know how awesome this place is from the outside. Once you walk in, though, you can tell this is a full-up craft brewery tasting room. They've got table seating and a pretty good-sized bar. Each of us did a 6-beer flight to try. There are plenty of beer choices for any pallet. 1912 is easily one of the best breweries in town, and that's saying a lot because Tucson has some amazing craft breweries. But they are by far one of the most inventive when it comes to their beers. 1912 has the largest selection of Gose and Sour style beers. They even have BEER SLUSHIES. You read that right, beer slushies. They take a fruity Gose style beer and put it through a daiquiri machine and the results are out of this world. I recently tried the Teddy Gosevelt, and this collab between 1912, Theodore, and Golden Pineapple was out of this world. I was skeptical of the Beer Slushie at first but let me tell you there's nothing better on a 100 degree day than that. They also have amazing ambers, my favorite of which is their Irish red, Weapon's Check. Just the perfect balance of flavor and smooth this is the beer to get. I also loved the Ta Weno, American amber, which is balanced and has just a subtle note of caramel to finish it off. Adulting Tip: Since you probably shouldn't just drink all your calories, 1912 features rotating food trucks almost every day of the week. My personal favorite is Taco Tuesday because the taco's from Daniela's Cooking are $1 off! read more

If you love sour beers, you'll love 1912. I knew of this place but had never stopped and often went to another brewery (who is also delicious). HOWEVER I had no idea what I was missing in this adorable tiny brewing co in a little business park. They had so many delicious options not just in sours, but also in everything else so not only was j happy, but my husband was too. They had chips and salsa and tamales which were all also delicious. The red Chile tamale was SO GOOD the flavor of the Chile soaked through everything just like I love it. The chips taste homemade and even though the salsa wasn't hot, it had good flavor. Took many beers to go and was pleasantly surprised when they offered a military discount. Will DEFINITELY be heading back each time I'm in town. read more

To stumble across a local brewery in an industrial complex on a Tuesday night...you know it's going to be good. I've had their beers in town on occasion so I was excited to try them at the source in Tucson. Instead of your boring, run of the mill brewery making another crappy hazy they are brewing things unique and specific. They had several fresh guezes (goses) on tap with one being barrel into a salty but layered bliss. The bartenders were warm and friendly and took their time to talk to us and tell us many stories. Gringo Pollo Asada tacos in Montana? The stories were great and the beers were just as thoughtful and delicious. I look forward to coming back for more. Love the beer!!! Fell in love with Weapons Check while visiting Hop Social in Chandler Arizona. Since then, we try to clear out the Weapons Check at every venue we see it at (cans+). 1912 is making some very impressive brews. I tried an IPA made with girl scout cookies that sounded very strange, but actually tasted really good. They are very good at IPA's, which happens to be mine and hubby's favorite style. We loved exploring their taplist with a flight. The taproom is very cozy with comfortable couches along with tables. What a great place! Easy to get to off of Grant, very pleasant tap room with TVs for watching the game, plenty of parking. I was shocked the place was not more crowded, though it was a Sunday afternoon. I *really* like their brews with the exception of the smoked Stout (smoking gun). Nothing wrong with the stout, just too smoky for my taste. My favorite was the Cherry Gose. Very well done, nicely balanced. My daughter really enjoyed the wine flight. She said they were all excellent, a pleasant surprise. Have to go back and sample some of the meads, ciders, etc. Definitely a "we have to go back here" visit!! read more

I've been going here since they opened and I can honestly say I love this place! They recently remodeled a little bit to add more seating space. There are often fun beer pairings with things such as donuts, pie, Girl Scout cookies, pan dulce . They usually have a food truck out front and they have Tucson tamales available as well. Make sure you get the chips and salsa (Daniela's stupid hot salsa is the best)! They always have plenty of beers on tap to choose from and they also have ciders, wine, and mead.
