A fantastic little family owned liquor store! This has been various businesses since the 1950's, and now it is a great little store for all your beverage needs. Our friend is a mezcal collector and is very picky. Jordan (the owners son) helped us immediately with a delicious more rare bottle within our budget. This spot also sells a variety of whiskey, gin, beer, wine and NA's. I love their vibe, not pretentious at all, unique with such an excellent selection. I was visiting Tucson and staying downtown at the Hotel Congress. This was the closest place that I could find that sold liquor (other than beer/wine). The walk was around 10-15 minutes. I stopped in looking for some bourbon and wasn't disappointed! The staff warmly greeted me when I came in - like a local. I like to collect bourbon and headed for that section. It's far from the largest, but it was well-curated. I went for a Journeyman Distillery Featherbone Bourbon Whiskey and a local selection - Whiskey Del Bac Dorado American single malt. The same theme carried on in the vodkas, gin, tequila, and so on. They had a good selection of craft brews and all the other carbonated things brewers are making these days. If you're looking for wine, they have some good selections, but not all that many to choose from. While it does feel slightly seedy with bars on the doors, a gate around the store, and a few homeless/intoxicated people in the area, I never felt like I was in any danger. Lastly, I have no idea what reviewer B B. was talking about. Maybe they've changed things since that review, but that did not describe my experience. read more

I've been coming here for years. Staff has always been amazing and very nice. That was when I had long hair. I was just discriminated against for being married and grabbing the wrong ID with my maiden name. I assumed. I went back with my passport and several other forms of proof but was refused to even be able to show them. I did not look like my ID was the firm answer. Wouldn't even let me buy NA or with cash. So I was discriminated against having brain surgery and looking haggard from having a shaved head. Normally I would let this go but this is not the first time I have been treated like this. Shame. Shame on the staff there. I hope you feel guilty against being discriminatory towards disabilities. And I guess being a married woman didn't help my case. I also grieve the loss of my neighborhood store I supported over the years. They lost my business. How are you worried about a stolen card but wouldn't even let me pay cash. read more

The old man in glasses, super rude. Today was my first time going to this store and I was treated as if I was going to steal. I got a 2 liter cola and I was taking my time to browse the candy for my 2 daughters since they were good at school today. I was then rudely told to put the candy on the counter before I continue shopping. Ok sir, no problem. And so I did as I was instructed. After that I went to look around for more stuff and decided I wanted something else. I guess he already rung me up. So after that he got an attitude because he had to take stuff off. After that I used my EBT card to pay for half the stuff and the rest I was going to pay in cash. And because I didn't tell him I was going to g to do that he KINDA raised his voice and told me I should of told him that before hand. Ok my mistake. Then I asked when his drawer was open if he could exchange a dollar for quarters so I could take the bus home and he said no.i asked for nickels and dimes and he looked at me in my eyes and was like, WE DONT GIVE OUT CHANGE! I was shocked at his attitude for the whole situation. Totally unacceptable. Customer service skills are maybe 2 stars out of 5. But the prices for his candy was a bit high. I decided I'd just take my business elsewhere because his attitude. A simple smile and a small explanation of how he does things at his store would of sufficed since he does things differently there. If possible just avoid this liquor store! I wouldn't recommend spending your hard earned money or your govt issed food stamps at this location. read more

STAY FAR AWAY!! This place is extremely dirty on the inside. I found it truly disgusting. I only went there once and I was afraid to walk through the iron bar covered doors, making my way through the many homeless people who seem to use the parking lot as a gathering place. But what was even scarier was what was inside the store. First of all it's filthy filthy filthy. Unfortunately, it appears there is little concern for this shop being organized or wiped down. The inventory is what you would expect... They cater totally and completely to those looking to purchase malt liquor, 40 oz cans, and plenty of shooters. This would be a great place to go if you want cheap alcohol. If you're looking for anything top shelf or even over $20 a bottle you've gone to the wrong store. If you're looking for bourbon you're definitely going to the wrong store because they have none. Finally, the staff behind the counter made me feel very uncomfortable but that was probably because I clearly didn't belong at this establishment. read more
