We were getting dinner at Fellini's and drive by again. I had some time to kill so we went inside. I was not disappointed. A store filled, almost every crevice, with glass pieces. Mushrooms, mermaids, flowers, little animals, tiki glasses, etc... So much to look at. Sitting on shelves, hanging from the ceiling... The employee became very personable when I engaged her about my love of glass. She told the two 11 year olds I was with about a box in the back of the store they could each pick out a piece of free sea glass. They loved that! she gave me the owners business card alerting me that you can go to his studio and watch him make glass pretty much during daytime hours and not far from the gallery. Pretty cool! The prices- range from super affordable to pricey but it's glass and general handmade craftsmanship. Expected. I did buy a beautiful blue flower to replace one that had broken from an unstable shelf incident a few years ago for $20. I bought a small ceramic bowl that was from a local artist. Inside the bowl had an image of the RI State house inside (a gift.) Also each pre-teen got to pick a little glass figure that were $4 a piece. They loved this!

They had phenomenal talents and started with information on glass an a brief demonstration. Individually students were guided through making 3 pieces which were uniquely your own. The teachers provided encouragement with instruction and helped to cover up your blunders because we were all very novice. This definitely gave me a good taste for the potential of the 6 week course which I hope to take in the future.

Amazing! We've been next door to Gather Glass and saw people making ice cream and decided to give…read moreit a try. They have a few time slots during the day and have classes up to 6 people. We got lucky and were the only couple to come in on a Saturday afternoon for a class. The instructors were awesome and you could tell they loved what they did and were proud of the ice cream that they make there. They walk you through the whole process from start to finish. You make your ice cream base, add mix ins, sauces, and eat! They freeze the base with liquid nitrogen so that was fun to watch as well. Majority of their ingredients are either from their farm or sourced from local vendors which we love! And all of the cups/bowls you use during the process are made in the glass studio next door. They also sell their homemade ice cream there so you can stop in whenever and get a cup or a pint. We sampled some flavors and they were great. Also have a bar so you can have a drink while you take your class. Great experience, would highly recommend!!
