Located in Boston Common is the Boston Common Visitor Center. As the name suggests, it has…read moreinformation about Boston that may be helpful for tourists, such as maps, pamphlets about attractions, etc. It is also a souvenir shop selling shirts, stickers, magnets, keychains, and other typical knick knacks. But most important of all, the visitor center has a bathroom! The bathroom is free to use, but there are only a few stalls, and with the long line up, the small visitor center felt quite crowded. But the line moved quickly and the bathroom was clean. Do note that the visitor enter closes at 4:45pm so if you need to use the bathroom at 5pm, you're out of luck! They have clean restrooms (major plus), although we never had issues finding bathroom while strolling around Boston. They have great maps of Boston and a nice one of the subway system, super helpful. This is where Freedom Trail starts, you can book tours here. They don't have an actual map for it, I printed one I found online because I didn't want to do a guided tours, I wanted to hit all the spots. Nice customer service, a friendly crew working here. They sell a nice souvenir selection, OK prices, I snagged a few, a lobster Christmas ornament for myself because... Great place to shop for souvenirs, you won't find many shops in town. When you start your Boston trip, start here for map, advice, info and a souvenir or two!

Every detail -- flights, hotels, transportation, and special requests -- was handled flawlessly. What really stood out was his ability to anticipate needs before we even asked and offer great options that fit both our budget and travel style. Anytime we had a question, we got quick, clear answers and helpful recommendations. Thanks to his expertise, we were able to truly relax and enjoy our trip instead of worrying about logistics. I can confidently say this was the smoothest travel experience we've ever had. If you're looking for someone who goes above and beyond and treats your trip like it's their own, Brian is the agent you want to utilize. What truly set Brian apart was his custom travel app, which he personalized with our entire cruise itinerary, pre- and post-cruise hotel details, flight info, and city guides for every port. It even packed in detailed ship info, key contact numbers, our travel documents, and insurance details. The best part? Real-time flight updates for delays and gate changes kept everything stress-free. We've already booked our next Virgin Voyages cruise with Brian--couldn't imagine traveling without him! If you're planning a cruise (or any trip), Pau Hana Travel is the only way to go. Highly recommend them!

I started visiting the 40 steps. There were a lot of people crowding the steps and taking photos. I enjoyed this part of the walk and would repeat again in the future if I came with friends. To get to the next session of the walk there is a detour that brings you by the next block and to the next entrance. I found the next section to be the smoothest walk and very scenic. After that, you see signs that there is some rugged terrain. You also get signs that you pass at your own risk and a reminder that you are passing through private properties. I highly suggest you wear proper footwear as there are some rocky sessions and uneven ways. If it is hot, you may want to bring water and wear sunscreen. Also check the map as there are sessions where it is clearly marked that the closest exit is some distance away. Still worth the walk as you get magnificent views and glimpses the back of some mansions/houses along the way. I exited at the Ledge Road exit.
