Was in town for a wedding and we spent some pre-ceremony time at the nearby Blackthorne. Spacious interior with a variety of chair types. I could easily see myself spending a few hours here and lounging, maybe writing or grading papers, and just enjoying the ambiance. It does have that local-pub type feel to it. Easy to find parking right out on the street. I selected the seasonal cocktails Demeter to drink. Gin is my spirit of choice, and the addition of black currants and blackberries was intriguing. The Cassis Noir De Bourgogne was the dominant flavor, rich black currant flavor from the liqueur. I do also appreciate that the drink was a very nice balance between mild tartness and mild sweetness, I could easily drink four or five in a sitting and still feel good about it. I do enjoy the terpene notes from gin and was unfortunately not able to taste them since the black currants were some dominant. The blackberries and the rosemary both struck me as there for the visual appeal more-so than the taste. If the berries were muddled more, then they too could add depth to the flavor. As they were in the mostly intact state I drank around them, a straw would not have been appropriate for the drink. I think one could cut the ice in half, it would still stay cold, and the ease of drinking would go up. I could probably also get more blackberries into my mouth for an additional sensory experience. Lastly, I did wish for more bubbles, more effervescence. Keep a neutral flavor (like carbonated soda) and let the Cassis shine. read more

We have been coming to Blackthorne Pub since it opened and now consider it our "local." Shane and her staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Shane puts a lot of thought and effort into her cocktail creations and has a great selection of beers on tap. Every item from the menu we have tried has been delicious. Blackthorne has quickly become a favorite for my family, and I love visiting when I'm in town! Tucked away in historic downtown, they've done an amazing job of truly embodying the energy of a local pub. I have yet to try their food, but it always looks amazing. Every signature cocktail I've tried so far has been incredible. Last time, I had Granny's Gimlet, which tasted like a really good apple juice - super refreshing and nostalgic. This is a unique, English-themed bar. Great selection of European beers, creative cocktails, and even a nice selection of mocktails for the designated drivers. Harry Potter fans will be delighted to see butter beer on their menu. Food here is also quite tasty too. Their sausage roll is superb, especially when paired with a nitro Irish red (Kilkenny). Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Such a jewel of a find in downtown Kennewick. Well worth the visit. read more

What a great place! Loved the service, food, and ambience! The low lighting and kindness of the staff was a highlight!

Went here for the first time after finding their Instagram page and was happy to support a locally owned Irish pub. They have only been open since Dec 2023 and while the decor was sparse and lacked the dark coziness of the English or Irish pubs I've been lucky enough to go to, I'm hoping with continued support from the community they'll be able to add more items like a full length wooden bar and such. Their time and money for now has been well spent concentrating on perfecting their menu selections and craft cocktails. They were delicious and unique. They serve Shepherds Pie on Wednesdays and Sundays until gone. The price of the cocktails was pretty steep, about $16.50 each. Our bill for lunch with tip came to $78 for a sandwich and 3 drinks. Not something we would do very often. read more
