The pumpkins are reaosnably priced if you're getting small and medium sized ones (not sure about the big ones). There were a lot of ppl with wagons purchasing big pumpkins so expect a line if you're visiting this month!

Coinciding with a recent visit to Deception Pass for the low tide in June, we decided to visit the actual farm stand up in Mt. Vernon on the way. This location consists firstly of a little building in front with a drive through and walk up window serving freshly made fruit smoothies, coffee, and ice cream. The only menu with pricing is located on the drive through side so it's a little inconvenient for walk ins! But at least for strawberries, they get fresh fruit right from the farm (we saw them walking in several flats of Rainiers as they opened up in the morning). Otherwise, the main store is in the barn-looking building behind that. When we visited in Mid-June, they were selling tons of different plants (50% off!), lots of freshly baked pies, and tons or strawberries! When we first walked in at 9:30 AM, the strawberries had literally just been brought to the stand; they were fresh as fresh can be. They had two varieties for the day: Albion (as with most Day-Neutral varieties, these are mediocre, but still better than grocery store varieties), and Rainier, one of the most flavorful varieties grown in Washington. We picked up a half flat for only $20, and would have bought more if not for the fact that we had already purchased 8 pounds of Upick Puget Crimsons from another farm just the previous day. We opted to also hit the little cafe to pick up one of Schuh Farms famous strawberry milkshakes. Strawberry Shake, 20oz ($8.50) - So delicious, the decadent dessert and ridiculously thick, rich, and creamy. Does this milkshake consist of strawberry blended with strawberry ice cream to amp up that fruity flavor? The strawberry is exceptionally jammy and it stays jammy even when the drink warms up. It somehow never gets watery like melted ice cream! (5/5) I've been buying from Schuh Farms ever since moving to Washington and I plan on continuing to be a customer in future years. Now I know there's a big advantage driving up to the farm instead of just stalking their stands at the farmers markets in town!

We went on a Wednesday midday and had the entire place to ourselves, which was extra awesome for taking photos. The farm was festive and decorated for Halloween. Prices on the pumpkins vary by size from the u-pick patch. They also have a large variety of speciality pumpkins available for purchase. The main barn had snacks, honey, shirts, hoodies, and hats available for purchase as well. They also have an apple cannon, corn maze, and barrel train which we didn't do this time around, but also looked like fun. Overall it was a great experience and we look forward to visiting again in the future.

After some research, & even though it's a bit of a drive, I decided to check out Jones Creek Farms. When we arrived there was a small parking lot but luckily, there weren't too many people so we found a spot towards the back. When you walk near the entrance, there is a worker next to a sign that says that all the workers are vaccinated and still choose to wear mask. Big thumbs up for that! In addition, it lists all the apple types and which rows they are in. There was even a section for Asian pears. The worker walked us toward the orchard and explained where we could pick apples (the trees with ribbons on them.) As we walked we realized many of the rows are very long, so I guess you should decide which apples you want unless you don't mind walking a lot (which we didn't mind doing.) There weren't a lot of trees with ribbons, but enough. The orchard was quiet with beautiful scenery of big hills/ mountains nearby. I took some nice photos. However, it was a bit too quiet for me. I like when it's a bit livelier. Apple picking was great, but there was no cute little market store (or at least it wasn't open when we went on a Saturday afternoon,) which I was hoping would be available to peruse. Also, no hayrides, no games, no corn maze, no cider or snacks... just apple/Asian pear or pumpkin picking. The pumpkin patch was small & very cute. The apple prices were decent and we were happy to leave with a small bag. If you would like a quiet peaceful apple picking experience, stop by at Jones Creek Farms!

We ended up getting garlic, a pumpkin, and 15 pounds if apples for $27.50. Worth the drive from Seattle. It was crowded on a Saturday but the farm is so large it doesn't matter much. You can buy a flight of mead concoctions to taste and the buy a bottle or two of your favorite. You can sit inside the Meadery with all that lovely mead (open Friday to Sunday) or take a drink on the lawn overlooking a small orchard, The store is open more often (Wednesday to Sunday) and is located across the parking from the Meadery near a colorful lavender field. They could also make a lot more money there if they had a variety of chips, granola bars, and canned sodas that are cold instead of warm bottles. The kids love all the activities, games, and rides available - the corn pit was a surprising hit, the slides are great, the trike loop is a great waiting activity when the line is long for the cow train. And, of course, the playground is a great space for the kids to run around. We especially love that it has so many different zones with different activities for all ages. The farm store is a Christmas gift staple for us, our family loves their gift baskets with Bob's preserves and snacks. Great value for the ticket price given all of the activities and time you'll spend there. And we're excited for the tulips in the spring!

You can also hold the cutest little chicks, hang out with some adorable little goats, see the other farm animals, check out the Cidery, gift shop, apple orchard, pumpkin patch, or grab some donuts or roasted corn! I highly recommend checking out the Great Harvest Glow if you're visiting during the season. There are so many amazing light up pumpkin setups and it was such a fun way to experience the farm at night! If you're purchasing a Great Harvest Glow ticket, you can come to the farm as early as 5pm to explore before your scheduled wagon time :)

There were some displays where you can interact with the lighting decorations or animatronics if you have one of those magic wands they sell. I walked through the sceneries more than once when I was there just because they are so gorgeous to look at. There is also a live concert, food trucks, a market section sponsored by other businesses, and an indoor train ride, which I had the pleasure of riding in. I highly recommend going to the Glow Gardens before Christmas is over.
