I have some vinyl casement windows that were installed 20 years ago by Home Depot. The hinges and hardware rusted and I needed them replaced. The windows themselves were just fine. Surprise, surprise.....turns out most window companies are only interested in selling you new windows, and that's fine, but that's not what I was looking for. Because Home Depot subcontracts, you can't even get the people who originally installed the windows to help out because Home Depot purges files after a while and they don't have any information... But of course, they're happy to sell you new windows. :/ After checking with a half dozen or more window companies it was suggested that I try to find the hardware from Blaine Windows. I called and spoke with Patti Petty (her real name, lol) and she asked for pics of the hardware and she would have her guys put together a quote for me with all the necessary hardware. Other companies send you to their website for you to "fish around" and figure it out on your own. That would be fine except they're are literally dozens and HUNDREDS of options with window hardware... And they all kind of look the same. Amazon wasn't even a reasonable option for me - too much to choose from there too. I'm no hardware specialist, sorry. Patti asked for pics and HER people figure out what's needed. Big difference. Sure enough that's exactly what she did. $165 in parts + $25 shipping = $190 Received my package on Friday via FedEx and had a company that I (finally) found send somebody out this morning to install. Turns out GLASS companies will install window hardware.... So they sent two guys. Whole time they were doing disassembly I was praying that everything that needed to be in that Blaine box was (actually) in that box and everything was going to match up correctly. Everything did!!! Only cost me $180 for the labor. A couple of little brackets were missing, but I emailed Patti and she is going to drop those in the mail for me - no big deal. Windows installed and operational. Thanks to Patti and her team for knowing their business inside and out!! This was a year-long investigative odyssey that I'm glad is finally over....and all for under $400. I tipped the install guys $20 bucks for lunch and am about to enjoy some breeze on this lovely day through my fully functional windows. read more

I made a 45 minute drive to find tilt clips no one was able to provide. The employees knew their stuff and was quick, professional and helpful. They provided a solution to my problem and I was happy I made the drive. I'm grateful for their stock and knowledge. read more

I recently ordered 2 pairs of vinyl jamb liners. One pair was fine. The other pair was for windows with 15 degree sills and a 54 3/8 opening on the long side (53 3/8" on the short side). This pair was apparently cut incorrectly and was 53 3/8" on the long side which is a non-standard size. I sent pictures showing the too short jamb liners in place next to a ruler. The feedback from the customer service rep was that I must have a non-standard window size (the windows are a standard size and I have bought correctly fitting jamb liners from another source). So be careful when buying from Blaine. read more

THIS PLACE IS GREAT..!! I have been a customer there for some time now and am ALWAYS left with great SERVICE..!! The store is always CLEAN, SPOTLESS and the counter girl Angle is PLEASANT, WELCOMING each time I visit.! They do not have everything in stock but they can get IT for you.!! They will get my BUSINESS as log as they are in business..!! read more

I had a difficult time trying to find a replacement hinge for a bow casement window , apparently because part numbers had been changed. But when I found Blaine, they were very helpful. I sent a picture of the old hinge and they quickly identified it and I was able to order an exact replacement. It arrived in the mail today and I had it installed in 15 minutes. Their customer service was excellent. read more

History

Established in 1954.

In 1954, Edward A. Blaine purchased a two-man repair business which was in Kensington, Maryland and operated as Blaine Window Repair Service, Inc. 1955 marked the first year of appreciable growth due to a lucrative four-year contract with the Hecht Company. Blaine Window Repair grew to a work force of 15 employees. The auto glass line was dropped in 1965 to concentrate on more compatible lines of products and services. Patio door service was added and contributed to a sizeable increase in sales. Blaine Window Repair added the retail sale of replacement window hardware in 1966. This marked the first move toward major distribution and wholesale marketing of unique replacement hardware. 1967 brought a major buyout of obsolete or discontinued window hardware from Valley Metal Products. Many other changes and growth have occurred over the years to bring us to wear we are today.

He helped us load 40 bags of rock, helped us push it to the checkout counter and helped us load it onto our truck. His customer service was above and beyond. Cynthia helped us at checkout. She was friendly and even recommended a product for yellow jackets after I told her of a nest on my property. Both of these employees are exceptional and this location is lucky to have them! I returned about an hour later to get a few more things and CJ at the checkout was very friendly as well. This location is always great and I recommend this store for any home needs!

I understand that we are dealing with COVID and some people are not interesting in "the good of the group" but it is MD state law that employees and customers wear a mask when inside of a business and practice social distancing. I am very vulnerable and have not been shopping in stores because it isn't safe right now for me but I do support other's right to choose for themselves. This was a gift for my husband's birthday, a tool storage cart. I called ahead to check on store safety policies. All good. We drove 40 minutes to the store and watched people coming and going. All good. We checked the signs on the doors: "employees and customers must wear a mask while inside" -- all good. So we went inside to shop. While we were looking at carts, we suddenly found ourselves surrounded by multiple people, way too close to me and lingering, with no masks. I went to the manager for resolution and was told point blank that the store COULD NOT and WOULD NOT be doing anything if people choose not to wear a mask because they are "exercising their medical rights". I was shocked. But no problem -- I told him to tell the owner of the franchise that they lost a $400+ sale that day and at least one customer who would also be posting everywhere possible on social media that this store is not safe to shop in.

It's disgusting that this establishment employs such judgmental and miserable people. Edit-- I honestly don't know if one of them was the manager, but either way, this is highly unacceptable and should not be happening especially toward someone much younger than them.
