They shaved gold from my setting and made it thinner, and also gave me less sturdy prongs for my diamond. They tried to deny what they did, but I had the shank replaced elsewhere not long before , because another jeweler thinned it out. I also made the jeweler bring out the old prongs to compare. They did make the corrections after I fought with them, but it never should have had to fight to have my ring fixed in the first place. Please remember to: Have your jewelry formally appraised. Buy diamonds that are certified by GIA with a serial number engraved on your diamond, so it can't be switched . Bring your paperwork with you and review your diamond through the microscope yourself to confirm your laser etched serial number.

The ring on the bottom continued to break and the other store continued to try and repair the broken platinum ring with no luck. We finally brought it to Corinne for repair and from that point on (many years ago) I have never had any issues with the band breaking again. Which gives you peace of mind, in regards to a cherished and valuable piece. We have had other items repaired over the years and most recently my engagement ring soldered together with my two wedding bands. Essence was wonderful when handling this repair order, as well as a very small purchase I made the same day for my young daughter. I know the holidays are an exceptionally busy time at your store so I was not in any rush to get my rings within a certain time frame. At week three I did call and there was a tiny issue with the rings and the order. Essence called me back almost immediately and she resolved the small problem quickly and professionally. I would trust Corinne to purchase jewelry, repair and anything in between. There is a reason they have been in business for so many years. Corinne will always have our business. I knew two of the rings needed repair and he stated that my wedding band did as well. A diamond cocktail ring needed to be soldered and my wedding band diamonds needed to be tightened. The engagement ring was missing two diamonds, which I instructed Chris just to fill in with white gold. In addition, Chris mentioned he would tighten all those remaining diamonds, as well as round the ring's frame, which had become somewhat more of an oval shape after years of wear. He told me that the repairs to the rings would be ready any time after 1 pm on that Saturday. On the morning of the 19th, I gave Chris a quick call requesting an itemization of the charges for each ring as the claim check only had the overall amount due. He became very defensive stating that the jeweler down the street would have charged more. I wasn't questioning the total amount, but was interested in knowing the charge for each ring, an itemization. The response I received from him was very disturbing. His arrogance surprised me. Even though the repairs were promised any time after 1 pm, I arrived at the store at 4 pm only to be told that the project was not finished. During the one hour I waited, he boasted that he had another property, a boat and purchased a new electric Hummer with a credit card, information I did not need to know. After leaving his place of business, I placed the rings in a sturdy jewel box until I wore them on the 28th for my birthday. Less than two hours after I put the ring on, I noticed one of the diamonds was missing. On the 30th, I called Chris to inform him that one of the "tightened" diamonds fell out. At first, he suggested that I must have banged the rings or dropped them dislodging the diamond. Also, he claimed that gold is soft. Then he stated that "like an auto dealer, once you leave the business premises, it is no longer responsible". The analogy, I thought, made no sense. As I live in California, I wasn't in a position to return to Bayville to have him look at the engagement ring and he didn't offer for me to mail it to him. He offered no apology and refused to refund any of the money I paid him. In fact, he said to call my insurance company, and let it pay for the ring. Fortunately, American Express intervened on my behalf, and I did receive some of the money I paid him. But now, I need to have the ring repaired again, and in addition, will now have to purchase a replacement diamond for it, costing even more than the original repair. I just thought it important to share my experience.

I stopped there today (Sunday) at 3:30 to look for a Xmas gift for my wife. As I approached the entrance I noticed the front window displays were empty. There were customers and employees inside. I tried to open the door but it was already locked. They opened the door for me but as I approached the interior displays the employees began to empty those as well, I continued to try to look at what was left but the employees just kept removing everything from the cases. I couldn't believe it! It was like I wasn't even there. Xmas season they're removing everything a 1/2 hour before the advertised closing time! I found it rude and also unproductive from a business viewpoint. They should decide what the actual closing time is and not waste peoples time.

Blaine's stated they had never seen this happen, stated we would be called to preview the replacement before it was set. (I asked how hot a car would have to be and was told to "google it"). Those earrings were filthy. You must have chipped them.
