Woke to a dead battery this morning, and since we're staying in the middle of an area we're not familiar with we were referred to Blain's. We called and got a quote and the promise they'd be able to fit my car in as soon as I got there--battery was tested then replaced within 20 mins of our arrival!! Kind and competent staff! I'd been told by a dealership in Jan of 2022 and by a local garage in May of 2022 that I needed new brakes on my SUV. I set up an appointment online at Farm and Fleet as there aren't many places that check/install brakes here in Freeport. A gentleman from Farm and Fleet automotive called me as I'd said I needed new tires. He was very helpful in helping me choose my tires over the phone as I looked at them online, so they'd be in on my appointment date. My greatest surprise was when they said my brakes would likely last me until next fall!! For once, I didn't feel taken advantage of with my car maintenance! Went to get an oil change at 4:50pm. Mind you they close at 6pm. No cars. No customer, two workers doing nothing. Told me they can't do my oil change, need an appointment. So I left. Now I'm at jiffy same thing No car no customer yet got service. Thanks jiffy for not being lazy. ‍ read more

Be careful with this location. The management is awful and will harass you for nothing. They have done a complete 180 in the past few months and have become a completely awful shopping experience. Would not recommend until they clean house. read more

Update: I got calipers, brake pads and rotors replaced in November when I was home visiting family. This week the calipers failed, David and Ty made sure that I was I able to get the replacements I needed in a timely manner and did all the arguing with horrible Elgin location. The two gentleman really went above and beyond to fix the problem. read more

Ad says free battery with Milwaukee tool. I drive all the way there they don't stock to tool. Go to Freeport if you can

I had taken my truck to Blain's in Freeport to have tires mounted and balanced before the installation I met with the tire installer to verify that the wheels were custom and that I wanted no damage to the wheel and stated that if he could not install the tire with out damage not to do them and he said the machine doesn't touch the wheel and would not be a problem. After he installed the tire on the wheel I inspected it and the wheel was damaged which he admitted to said machine was new and that he was not familiar with it and said he was sorry. I told him to stop the installation of the other tires. I took pictures and reported to the assistant store manager who also took pictures and said it would go to insurance. Spoke with insurance and sent pictures but the claim was denied. I have called the service manage and he said he would call me back (never did). I have called the corporate office and spoke with them and they said they would call me back (never did) I have gone into the Freeport store and spoke with the service manager and he told me that he can do nothing for me and gave me a phone number to the regional manager I called and left a message no call back. FRUSTRATED AND FEDUP WITH THIS COMPANY The wheel is over $500.00 and they need to stand up and take responsibility for replacement. So sucks. read more

Not the kind of place you'd think to go to get stuff other than tools and such, but I have found some GREAT deals on clothes and kitchen items here! They usually have a big clearance section of clothing and small kitchen appliances. Hello $10 Coffee pot! :) read more

I live in the City and love, love, LOVE coming here whenever I'm traveling through Freeport. I'm completely fascinated by all of the weird stuff I know is utterly mundane to someone who lives on a farm. How can you not like the candy aisles, the sturdy clothes you can buy and not feel bad about trashing when you're working in the yard, and the huge selection of little farm toys??? I've also bought more than an occasional sack of chicken feed for my urban flock (there's always room in the car for a sack of feed...) which is why I originally stopped in here. My rural friends laugh at my love affair with this store but I don't care - it's the cat's ass!!!! read more

We started coming here when we moved from Ohio several years ago. There was something like it back there, but it was NOT the Farm & Fleet I have come to love!!! I find great deals and can find some things here I cannot find elsewhere. The variety and prices are outstanding. I love the fact I could buy a lawn mower and a blouse in the same store - and be thrilled with both of them!!! Great job....AND I also have service work done on my vehicles - have bought tires and batteries here and am very happy with the results. I recommend Farm and Fleet to friends and neighbors frequently!!! read more

i waited on hold for 11.50 minutes to find out if they had a spare tire and they never even answered. ridiculous customer service!!!!!!!!!!
