Came here on a whim, we weren't really in the Altoona area to go candy shopping. If it was not for my sister I would not have known this was here. When you pull in it looks more like an office building than an establishment that sales wholesale candy. Walking in I wasn't sure what to expect. It is wall to wall aisles filled with bulk everything. It may say candy on the building, but there are other bulk items that are sold within. You can get salty snacks as well and, believe it or not, cleaning supplies and paper products. Think of this as a slimmed down Sam's. I knew I was going to end up spending an obscene amount of money on things I didn't need in here. I walked up and down the aisles and thought to myself, I haven't seen this candy in a long time and it would appear in front of my face. I ended up buying way too many things in bulk, but I also ended up purchasing single items as well. There was no way I needed bulk Razzles. I did need bulk Dunk-a-roos. I just wanted some candy. Spent about 105.00 at Blair Candy . Got an incorrect order number, one digit short. Called to correct this to track my order, Pam was very short and VERY rude, wouldnt help and hung up. We are talking Candy, not anything real important. She baited me, I took it and got angry back. Shouldnt have. Called back, got a Karin this time, she said order he it cancelled cause of my anger. Candy folks just candy. She said she was going to get me with a bad review, I took the bait again and got very angry. Rudeness is practiced and tolerated there. if you want some of that, just call Blair's, you will get some. No candy, but plenty of rudeness. It's been years since I visited Blair Candy Company and wow it's not like anything I remember. The candy selection is massive. Aisles of massive floor to ceiling racks filled with every type of candy I can think of. In addition they have a fair selection of kitchen cleaning supplies and food packaging items like aluminum foil, styrofoam packaging, plates, trays, cups, and even pizza boxes. It's quite an assortment that they offer. Lastly, if you are a cigar smoker, they have a large walk in humidor with a wide selection of cigars to choose from. Nothing but issues with customer service. They created a label and over 2 months sent nothing. I called them and Karen made me feel as if I did something wrong before assuring me it would be processed and shipped in next couple days. 4 days later they canceled it and i called the manager Pam who said my credit card processing was "suspicious" and who also mentioned that it was ridiculous for me reach out almost 2 months later which was to them also a red flag as a result it was canceled. She used capital letters to infer her screaming at me as a manager via email. So finally as a person who owns 4 businesses in 3 states and didn't have the time to go back and forth i just ordered it. I didn't notice the candy was missing because candy companies often accept orders for inventory they don't have and it takes up to 6 weeks for replenishment to fulfill. After my second and final order with this company i then spoke to the manager who "runs everything there". He was even more arrogant unprofessional and insecure manager I've ever spoke to. He told me business credit card seemed fraudulent because my shipping and billing address differed. He asked me to provide him with my EIN paperwork and my license with my shipping address to have my order fulfilled. I told him I lived in California and was shipping to and employee who manages my NY location. He told me the only way they would ship to me is if my drivers license matched my shipping address then ended the phone call by telling me to go steal another car, he said that he knows about me because he has my rap sheet pulled up. He was referring to a 2015 news paper articles where I was arrested for charges that were later dropped by the court. I then asked for the owner or upper management to reach out because it all made sense. It sounds crazy but I have the emails and the recording of that last conversation on the phone to prove it. Blair candy actually discriminated against me and asked me to verify things that they would never ask another person for a charge I wasn't even convicted of but accused. Blair candy discriminated against a man who has came from nothing and built 4 successful businesses and was only trying to begin a business relationship. I am appalled by there treatment of me over a 437$ order. I am appalled that they made me relive my worst embarrassment because I was trying to spend my business money with them. Even offered a picture of my I'd and credit card like we've all had to do for a big order before. I never had an ounce of respect & it took me till the last manager to understand why. Aside from being righteously frustrated and confused over my order, i never made it personal to the manager who abused me. The icing on the cake is just one month prior to this order they charged, processed, shipped, and delivered an order to the Same exact credit card, billing address and shipping address. Nothing they said made sense, nothing added up. And if you read their reviews lack of professionalism, and shipping issues is a common mistake. Save the headache there are tons of options comparable in price and cheaper. I found Blair Candy Company maybe 10 or so years ago (long time ago), while looking for some way to find Bun Candy Bars for my wife. Bun Candy bars (maple, actually) had been my wife's favorite as a kid. I live in Phoenix. I've ordered a box of Bun Candy Bars for Christmas about 10 times since then. It is VERY easy to order over the internet. Their search engine for the site is excellent as well. I have had ZERO issues in all of those orders. My wife developed an allergy to 'milk' chocolate. Being a typical husband, my brain went silent as I got the thought I'd order her a box of Buns for this year. In about just a minute or two I'd signed on, ordered and signed off the site. Job done. (smiley face). A few days later, thinking what else I'd get, and patting myself on the back for having this order in the mix. Then, my husband brain caught up with reality and I recalled the 'milk' chocolate allergy. I called Blair Candy's customer service, and they cancelled my order without incident. I am very frustrated because I paid almost $20 in shipment and someone from your company decided to send my package to a location that I don't go to. It is very overwhelming that your customers pay for a certain thing but BLAIR CANDY does what they want rather than what the customer choose. As a company you should follow directions. This is in inconvenience for my family. I put my home address for delivery. I will no longer recommend BLAIR CANDY to any of my family or friends. on My UPS deliver it states to be sent to an actual UPS store not a CVS. They really do have a mind-boggling selection of candy & party supplies and a walk-in humidor with a solid selection of quality cigars. We've made the mistake of coming here on Sunday when they're closed. We're all glad we came Friday AND Saturday this trip. Blair Candy is a spot we like to visit when in town if at all possible. As another reviewer mentioned, they have brands I thought were long gone. It's so great to see these bits of nostalgia! Foreign brands that seem to be popular with the kids, as well as a great selection of sour candy, which we all love. One star because I can't leave ZERO stars. Creme Drops arrived in a box that appeared to be packed by a drunken monkey. The separate boxes with the candy were randomly crammed in, some upside down, some sideways, crushing the contents. Some of the boxes were open, scattering the contents about in the packing peanuts. The external box, shipped via UPS, was in fine shape, no signs of mis-handling, but the contents were a mashed together mess. How many people accidentally come to Blair Candy looking for Boyer Candy? Just me? Surely not! Blair Candy is a huge candy distributor and they have damn near *EVERYTHING*. There are old nostalgic brands you didn't know still existed as well as foreign brands of candy you've never seen and everything in between. It's like a good size grocery store with just candy! Do you need a five pound bad of Swedish Fish? You can get that here! Or a normal package of M&Ms, Snickers, or whatever. They also have other specialty food items and party supplies. Let me start out by saying...I love Blair Candy Company! My daughter has this passionate relationship with a tiny, chewy candy called Frooties...which are frequently found near the candy bowls at the checkout in restaurants. These tiny addictions are not readily available anywhere!!! I've only seen them online in huge bags of single flavors suitable for filling pinatas or goody bags. It was my tenacious exploration...or should I say determination...that led me to an online candy site called The Blair Candy Company. Thinking my discovery might be too good to be true, I called them a week before Xmas and actually spoke to a wonderful human being! When he said their company mixed multiple Frootie flavors into bags, I nearly jumped for joy. And when he promised delivery (no extra charge) before Xmas, I wanted to kiss him!!! I excitedly ordered 3 bags...enough to guarantee at least several visits to a dentist as a result. Despite rain, snow, sleet and ice, my candy was delivered on time in a perfectly boxed container. So I've lived around here for over three years and have never been here until today and I was not disappointed. I was literally like a kid in a candy store! They have so much stuff you can't find anywhere else. A lot of it is sold in bulk, but it's all cheap prices. It's like a Sam's Club for candy. It's also pretty cool they have party supplies, household cleaning supplies, and giant jars of pepperoncinis lol. There's also a humidor, if you're into stuff like that. I cannot even check a star for my experience with this company. 12/11/13; Every Christmas I order from your company for my family. My order number for this year is referenced above - which included (1) - 32282 French burnt peanuts; (5) - 30355 satellite wafers; (1) - 30793 Marpo Ice Cream Cones. We just began opening some of the items and I am very very upset. The ice cream cones are beyond stale! The marshmallow part is hard as a rock - not soft and chewy; the cone part is so stale when bitten into it just crumbles and has an actual burnt taste to it. The two boxes of wafer that have been opened up are also stale - the wafers are not fresh and crisp but soggy and the nonpareils are soft and gummy. Last year I recall the items did not seem as fresh either but did not do anything about it. Now I am quite upset. Please advise as to what you can do about this situation. Thank you Michelle Repace RESPONSE: Wow this is all pretty strange. We sell so much of all those items we run out almost every 10 days till new stock straight from manufacturer arrives back in. Looking at the scan of your order that was sent. 1. satellite wafers you received we only about 11 days old. You won't get them any fresher. I also did an sales scan. We sold 903 boxes of those wafers, just like you received and do not have any other emails from anyone stating about the issue. AWhen these wafers are very fresh, they are soft ( limp) and harded in time. 2. Marshmallow cones will behave that way when in cold weather, but should correct themselves. Once again, we always sell completely out of this item so the stock is never any older that a few weeks. The last supply from the manufacturer was delivered to us on Nov 26th. 3.Nonpareils - not sure how they could be gummy? Heat will melt them and cold will make them crisp for awhile. considering you seem to be having issues with everything sent. The best thing for us to do is have UPS pick it all back up. We will have each manufacture rep look over the items in question, but as of right now, we have no other complaints. When we receive them back from UPS we will credit your account. Please also send the open boxes. You won't need a label, UPS will provide that. If you could possibly pace everything ( even the opened) back into the box we shipped them in and let us know when you have done that, we will have UPS pick it all back up. We are actually a very large wholesale distributor. We sell our products to over 300 other websites for them to sell as well. We also have our own fleet of trucks that deliver across PA, MD and NY to stores. I have no reporting from any of those other sellers reporting issues either. You received the box on December 13th, that was 13 days ago since reporting the issue. Did any of this come in contact with extreme heat of cold? I will need to explain to the manufacture reps what all you stated so they can also check them and into those manufacture days. MY RESPONSE: To whom it may concern: Because obviously you have no concern about your customers! WOW! You and your company definitely need to learn some customer service. Are you kidding me!? I have shown and reposted your response on my FB page and all people were in agreement that your company does not have its customers first and foremost. In your response, or lack thereof, what does it say about your company and customer service that begins by attacking the customer as opposed to starting off with an apology for the situation. These items were Christmas presents, which I order every year for Christmas for the past several years (and other times throughout the year) and thank you for my wasting money on your items and giving them out for presents that were horrible! I WILL NEVER EVER ORDER FROM YOUR COMPANY AGAIN. Not only have you lost me as a customer but I can tell you when I am done I think you will be losing several more. How about I am so sorry for the problems you had with our products that we supply. I DID NOT ask to hear about the friggin statics of your company, your sales, or your supply inventory. I furthermore did not ask you to pass the buck by reposting from another website information about the marshmallow ice cream cones. Nor did I ask you to calculate how long I have had the order and why there was a delay in my letting you know of the problems. Placed an order online and the charging these people charge is ridiculously high! They ended up calling me back saying items were back ordered over a week after my order was placed and the custer survice was not helpful or friendly.
