Understand my dissatisfaction is with one stylist, Tasha. I showed her a photo of the style I wanted them discussed it with her for several minutes. She then proceeded to butcher my hair. Didn't even come close to the style or length. It's as if she did the exact opposite of everything we discussed. Was she just not listening? It will take at least a year for my hair to grow out enough to be the length I asked for. I wish I was exaggerating. Mattie, the owners sister, was very apologetic. Even offered me free products for my hair. I appreciate her effort but my hair is screwed. Beware of the stylist you get. read more

I moved to Front Royal from Texas! I normally will fly back to Cali or Texs to get my hair done! Blake and Co was recommended by two people! One person in Front Royal the other in Winchester! I called and made appointment and explained to them how What I was looking for in a stylist. They set me up with Trish! I went in first for a consultation and then the next day she got me in and she has got to be the best stylist that I have ever went to! My husband even said something, he said when we move back to Texas you will have to fly back to Virginia and have Trisha do your hair! If I could give her a 10 star I would! I went in to my appointment with about 100 ideas and no clue how to put everything together. Phleasha basically read my mind and the results were better than I could have imagined! She stayed late to make sure my hair was exactly how we both wanted it. She is AWESOME! I called yesterday to see if they had an opening, as my hair was LONG overdue for a cut & color (last was pre-covid!). They booked me an appointment with Trish, and I must say, I couldn't be happier with the result! I knew I needed a bit removed, as my ends were very damaged and had to go. I got a great cut, and a nice color as well. My hair feels so much healthier & the cut and color are just what I was hoping for. I thought it was going to be difficult finding a new stylist, after my gal for the last 7 years moved away, but who knew I'd find her right across the street from my church! This salon is so great. The atmosphere is so friendly and inviting. From the moment you walk in you are greeted with a smile and an offer of a beverage of choice. Oh - and they have great choices. :). I've been looking for a stylist who really understands how to cut curly hair and I found her here. Tricia is the curl whisperer. She's very personable and makes you part of the process. It definitely makes a difference in the quality of the cut. I did have to go back to have her fix something that didn't look quite right and when I called I got the best response from the salon. I've been going here for a couple of years now. Up until this past time...I've been happy. I walked into Blake & Company to speak with my stylist about scheduling a future appointment. The lady at the desk was having problems finding a time that was good for my personal schedule. After a few minutes of searching, she walked back to where my stylist was waiting for her next appointment. My stylist then came out to speak with me. I told her my issues and she said that she could fix them. Well, she suggested a style that I can only describe as a reverse mullet. I made a remark to this effect. She laughed and said that was not what was going to happen. After only, at most, 30 minutes in her chair. I was floored! My hair was exactly what I had feared it was going to be. When she showed my the results, I was speechless. I walked to the front desk to where the lady who greeted me said, "Oh! That's so much better!" My reply was that the style made me look older. "Oh no it doesn't," she replied. I walked out of the place in tears. I emailed Blake when I got home explaining how upset I was and that I was not comfortable coming back. A day later I received a call from the stylist stating that she was more than happy to show me how to style my hair or cut it again, in a voicemail. Then I got an email from Pegi saying that she was trying to get a hold of me. I emailed back stating that this was the first time I had heard from her and that I wanted a refund. I did not want any of the stylists touching my hair. I received an email today stating that she would be more than happy to have me a refund...toward my next visit. I regret spending $60 and will probably never see it again. In hindsight, I should have refused to pay for something I did not like. This salon has gone down hill. All they care about is how many appointments they can fit in before the day is done. read more

I had hair that reached my hips and I was looking for a salon that could take my long Pocahontas hair and mimic Anne Hathaways pixie haircut. So I somehow ended up in their website which was up to date (highly appreciated) and their portfolios were just fantastic ! I ended up booking an appointment with Amanda she really knows her stuff ! She went out of her way to explaining how to style and manage this new hair do and answered every question I had. It is evident from the moment you sit in her barber's chair that she is committed to giving you the best haircut possible. I left with one of the best haircuts I've had in my roughly four decades; and it wasn't just the look, it was the experience as well. She takes the time to understand the look you're looking for, then explains her plan to see if you're both in agreement before she starts. After using the clippers, she will shampoo your hair and massage your scalp before moving on to the scissor cut and styling. (She also provides beard trimming and shaving services, although I did not avail myself to those at the time of my visit.) I am sorry to say that I am not going to be able to come to see Mattie very often, since I was just staying in the area temporarily for Thanksgiving. I'm not happy with my experience in the nail salon of Blake and Co. JUST SO YOU KNOW I'M ONLY TALKING ABOUT DANA WHO DID OUR MANICURES. I brought my daughters in to have gel manicures. Dana talked about her boyfriend and how she's the best in Front Royal etc etc. She had her conversations with 10 year old girls. I brought in 3 girls for an appointment it seemed Dana was rushed to leave. When my one child asked can Dana she fix her nail that was peeling before she even finished her nails bc it never cured properly Dana said it'll be fine. It never was fine it peeled off the next day on its own. I called the front desk after i left to explain and the woman was amazingly nice and made an appointment to come back the next day and Dana was very defensive to what happened. She blamed my daughter to her face that she was the reason this happened, she said my daughter peeled it off etc etc. When she did fix her nail she just painted over the part that was peeled off and even i knew that was not how you fix gel nails. I was furious I will never have my nails done at Blake and Co as long as Dana is there doing it. On a positive everyone else I met there was AH-MAZING!! THEY WERE NICE AND ANSWERED MY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE SERVICES AND THEY MADE ME AND MY DAUGHTERS FEEL WELCOME!!! I WILL TRY OTHER SERVICES HERE BUT NOT NAILD UNTIL DANA IS GONE! ! read more

Just recently moved to Front Royal and I had to find my new hairstylist!!I tried this place after I heard great things. Well, thank GOODNESS I came here! Super relaxing salon, great people, very clean! My first experience was just a trim, because I was testing the waters and wasn't too sure about a new salon. The trim was awesome and we discussed my next hairstyle and what I wanted to achieve. So I made an appointment for my asymmetrical lob. My second experience was big one because I was having a LOT of hair cut off. But, it was cut, and it looked absolutely lovely. I was super happy with my haircut and couldn't thank her enough. I've been a client of Blake's since she started doing hair many years ago and it's a regular occurrence for random women to come up to me in public to compliment my hair and ask me who does it. I also get my mani-pedis here in the gorgeous spa, as well as facials and massages. Today I had eyelash extensions done and they look amazing! I'm thrilled that the spa is offering this new service. I look forward to a summer with gorgeous lashes and no mascara running down my cheeks from the heat or from swimming. Everyone at the salon/spa is so friendly and wonderful and the services are top notch. It's also just a lovely, beautifully appointed facility with a warm, relaxing atmosphere.
