Occasionally take my friends dogs here. Yes I'm that guy. Actually have to add a story, that makes me smile, as I miss my beloved sharpei. It's been many years, but one day I had to leave with her and my head down in embarrassment, as she was too dog aggressive. You won't find that here. This park is well maintained, and regulars along with members of Fairfax Police, do keep this facility safe for people and four legged creatures. The two gate system is smart. Also thank you to all who keep dog crap cleaned up. Not all dog parks are kept as nice. There's a good group of people and dogs here. Definitely a laid back spot. A friendly dog park located on Blake Lane in Blake Lane Park. There is a recycling center in the parking lot. The park is grass/dirt with two entrance gates. Most of the dogs and people here have been friendly. My dog seems to enjoy this park more than some of the others in the area. - 25 dog limit. - Three benches for owners to sit. - There is no running water at this park. There are a few water bowls though so please remember to bring a jug of water for your dog/to share. - The park is open from dawn to dusk. - Three trash receptacles are located inside the park. read more

So very nice to have such a natural green space in our community. Most of the people who live around here, unlike some of the more affluent areas, don't have much or any yard space; so, it is definitely a community area that is used and loved by most everyone around here. The dog park is awesome for the pups, but also kids playing soccer including some of the youth leagues and anyone who just wants to take a walk in nature without having to drive across the county. UPDATE: Fairfax County and the Fairfax county school board unbeknownst to most residents is planning on destroying the entire park to build yet another elementary school. Although they have other more viable sites with regard to traffic flow, available space and feasibility they want to destroy this park forever. Hopefully they will actually listen to their constituents for once and Save Blake Lane Park. read more

This dog park is a low frills nice big area for dogs to roam and play off leash. There are two entrances, one if which has bags (to clean up after your pooch) and several jugs of water in case you forget to bring your own. There were about ten dogs and their people there today, all of whom were nice and playful. My pup had a blast romping around! I look forward to coming back when it's a little less muddy however. read more

Beware of Mochi (pronounced "Mow"-"chee") - she's aggressive and unpredictable. She will start off as nice, but will go full on attack without a second's notice. Her owner, a middle-aged, sporty, woman of Asian or Hawaiian descent, is too relaxed about keeping her in line. When she's there, the park typically clears itself of everyone else because Mochi snaps, snarls and tries to bite the other dogs. Mochi is a brown/black (brindle), female pit bull-mix. Otherwise, this place is usually quiet and friendly. A lot of dirt, minimal grass, and irresponsible owners who don't pick up after their dog, but ultimately, it's a leisurely place to bring your dog to run in the Fairfax area. read more

Blake lane dog park has done a great job of filling their dog park with grass. I came about three months ago with my dog and it was completely dirt, but they have done a 180 and it's about 90% grass now. Def will be bringing my dog back more often. Plenty of dog owners have left toys and water dishes for dogs as well as left bags to pick up after your dog. read more

This is a super low-key, very friendly dog park. It's right around the corner from my house and my dogs love it. It's fairly large and square shaped with a big fence all the way around. It's not huge, but I like that because it tends to force owners to keep an extra watchful eye on their pups. That being said, there isn't much poop on the ground and the trashcans aren't very smelly. Sharing is caring here, so bring a fistful of plastic bags to add to the collection (for poop!) and a jug of water to make sure that the water bowls are filled. There is no running water source here. This place can get pretty packed during the peak hours of 5-7pm on really nice days. I tend to stay away during times like that because my dogs would rather just play ball instead of interacting with the other dogs. One huge problem is the gnats. In the summertime, those pesky little bugs will be all up in your grill. You have to keep walking in circles just to avoid them! read more

A small tucked away dog park about 30 sq. yards, mostly dirt so stay away on rainy days. There is a trash can here but bring your own water and bag. The area is sufficient for dogs to run around off leash and there are paths and fields/lawns for leashed walks as well. The gates are double gates but there is no separate small dog park. Love this dog park, I bring my 5 month old Shiloh Shepherd pup Tabitha here occasionally l for a playdate with one of her best puppy friends. The park is small, but large enough for the dogs to be able to romp, has water bowls (but no running water, make sure to bring your own!!) and a few toys. It could use some more grass, and Tabby sure doesn't help with her trying to dig on what is already there! Overall good park, decent people for the most part, and a nice place to bring your dog to romp around. read more

There are three dog parks for you to use - 2 - open area/non-fenced parks and 1 - closed gated park there might have been more - there was a set of steps that led some place else but I got freaked out by the low hanging branches and the possibility and spiders...my fear won out when I felt something touch my leg. I took Penny to a grassy area, non-fenced area first to work on recall without a leash. It's mostly closed off by trees so I felt at ease to let her off the leash there. There aren't a lot of people there on off hours I'm assuming. I only ran into a couple of owners in the gated area in the 2 hours I was there and saw another two dogs in the other non-gated area, a stark contrast to Quinn Farm Park, where I saw a TON of dogs. I later found out that dog boarders took dogs there to run around and have fun. All in all, I love that this place was mostly comprised of grass. Note - when you are on jermantown road, it'll eventually turn into blake lane. don't make the mistake I did and assume that blake lane that intersected jermantown road was the blake lane I was looking for. read more

Love the location! Good size fenced in area. Lots of trees and greenery around. Love the relaxing setting of this dog park. I wish it wasn't so much dirt/clay and there was more grass inside the fenced in area. When it's windy, the dirt sometimes gets picked up and blown into your face, but it's never too bad. I love this little neighborhood dog park and come here quite often. There is usually plenty of street parking and the dog park is just a very short walk away from the street. read more

Kind of love this dog park because it hasn't been crowded any time I've gone (which has only been 3 times in October/November 2017). And when there were people there with their dogs, they were vigilant and friendly. Unlike other dog parks I've been too, it's not so big that you lose sight of your dog and stop paying attention. That said, it is mostly dirt and patches of grass around the perimeter, so be careful after it's rained. There are a ton of tennis balls there but bring your own if you want a clean one. There are two entrances, the poop bags are always stocked, and there are multiple water bowls around. Overall, I enjoy this place and will keep coming back!! read more

It's the park closest to me and its small. Both are things that I'm happy about. This place seems to have a lot fewer dogs relative to other parks in the area. The lack of running water isn't a really big deal since we just bring our own. The fact that there is grass throughout the park is a big plus because my dog (greyhound) is not a big fan of gravel or dirt. It could be a bit nicer in terms of the bugs in the summer (as mentioned below) and sometimes there are no dogs in the park at all (which is a bit of a drag). Overall I def. recommend checking out this park because the owner's are all very friendly and its very well maintained. read more

Well did not go inside this park because there is a sign that requires your dog be registered in the state of Virginia to visit. Well my dog is registered through AKC but never heard of such a thing. Also there are no dividers for small and big dogs just one big open field. There is a warden that's visits looking big for licenses. Will not visit here again wasted gas getting here. It costs $5 for a license. Sad bc my dog cried to go in and I didn't want to risk a fine and let her enter. Pretty sad... read more

With the Vienna dogpark minutes away they need to update this place bigtime. There is barely any grass and each time I go there are less and less dogs there. Just go to the one in Vienna, there are more things to do and a lot more dogs for your dog to play with read more

Nice space for doggies to run around, but there is a lot of clay dirt. My dog was filthy after about 20 minutes of playing. Nice group of pet owners chatting and watching their dogs. There are benches there for the humans to use, toys and water bowls. read more

We went this past Saturday and the temperature was about 88°. It is a short walk from parking to the dog park but it looked like the corner of the dog park needed some landscaping as there were weeds growing. I'm also not sure if it was just the day but the flies were out and all over the place! It was extremely bug infested so make sure to bring bug spray. There were about two other dogs when we went and it was 2 PM. Won't be going back again. I'll stick with the dog parks in this area. read more

I live in the McLean area and there are really no dog parks by my house. I wasn't too much worried about seeing other dogs there when I went I just wanted to have my dog run around and be legally off-leash. It took me 30 minutes to get there but I felt like the exercise she would get from the park would be so worth it. Unfortunately it was full of mud. I'm sure during the summer this park would be great but not after it rains it was awful! I had about a pound of mud on each shoe and I almost slipped into a pit of mud trying to walk out. Needless to say my dog needed a bath hella and she cried the whole time we were there. read more

Better than average physical park but BEWARE the crazy middle-aged lady with 2 XL Great Danes - - the bigger male one is particularly aggressive. The crazy lady accompanied by a man in a wheel chair (think S. Hawking) cannot and will not control her dogs. AVOID park if you see 2 speckled Great Danes - - lady makes no effort to be decent, responsible dog owner!!!!! read more

We had to leave without going in because there is only one fenced in area and there were big dogs there. I was holding my dog and before I even had a chance to open the gate these two big dogs, a boxer and a siberian husky was barking and jumping uncontrollably. I hesitate to put my dog down and open the gate, these two dogs jump up at me and nip at my dog's tail area while their owners standing there not controlling their dogs. A female owner had a nerve to say "oh they tend to do that when you are holding your dog" That is a lame excuse from a bitch who doesn't train their dog. So we left. read more

I really like this dog park because it's really low key compared to Shirlington dog park. All the dogs (less than 10) were pretty well-behaved when I was there (overcast, but otherwise pleasant Sun at 230P). My only complaint is that there is no running water there. It's a fenced in area with a couple of benches It started out as a convenient place to bring our dog, but its been 'generally' over run by irresponsible pet owners and their aggressive breed dogs. After witnessing multiple occurrences of dogs biting other dogs and dogs nipping other dogs faces, my wife and I decided to go elsewhere.
