The bad was huge; pillows were not the best, but we were so tired after long days of hiking, that we did not pay a lot of attention. The owner, Mike, was super helpful and accommodating, I wish him lots of business, and if I am in the area, I will stay in this place.

Our host Kris was very welcoming and gracious...Quite a conversationalist and made us feel at home. The interior of the home, had large common rooms, and was clean. It is in desperate need of area rugs, more furniture, wall decor, flowers... anything to add warmth. The room in which we stayed had a comfortable bed and huge bathroom. Both very clean. However, staying at more B & B's than we can count, we were disappointed with the following: 1- A HUGE black plastic bag covered the waste can in our bathroom. I know that sounds petty, but we're in a B & B...not a Motel 6. There was no floor mat when exiting the shower so egress was onto the linoleum. 2- The windows were not only painted shut, but nailed shut. So, no fresh air. (Kris did provide a fan for our use). Most importantly there was no speedy escape route if there was (God forbid) a fire outside in the hall. (Fellow guess we met at breakfasts verbalized the same concern(s). 3- Breakfast was quite disappointing. Scrambled eggs, hash browns and Canadian bacon. All served in chafing dishes in the new, large kitchen. Again... this is fine, however, in a B & B, the breakfast is usually a looked forward to 'event'. Numerous boxes of Entemann's pastries were also available. Plastic utensils were set out, along with plastic cups for juice. Even though there was real silverware, glasses, etc., plastic was set out. Serving ourselves was perfectly fine, there was just no attention to detail. Large containers of sugar, powdered cream, etc., were set on the counters instead of lovely servers. It's the little things that make a B & B. So, all that being said we will not return. Although it is clean, right next to the lovely falls and within minutes of Watkins Glen.

The bathroom had wallpaper (why do they do this?! lol) and it was peeling in spots, that and figuring out the small frig were the only negatives really. It wasn't luxurious, I paid $80 which seemed about right, considering this room could've held 4-5 people easy with the 2 beds and sleeper sofa. It was homey, friendly and welcoming - just right for my one night stop. Oh, they have a book exchange in the office if you want something new to read.

We were given a dirty room and were forced to stay because of our emergency situation while traveling. I later then requested a refund for our unsanitary room and was told I'd get one! I booked through booking.com so they had to reach out to the hotel, the hotel then lied and said we were given a new room and stayed for breakfast and that is so far from the truth. I called the owner and he claimed that they have footage of us getting a new room and if I wanted to see it I have to file a police report so I did. Seems many of the guests are contractors for the local propane gas company who come and go often. The reception/breakfast area includes a very pleasant sofa. a TV and several dining tables. There is a highchair available as well. A pot of coffee is often on for guests throughout the day and tea available to brew. The full size fridge holds milk for your coffee/tea and breakfast cereal, plus an assortment of other items like yogurt and juice. In the freezer are a few microwave items for breakfast like sausages and pastry. Breakfast is 'self serve' and consists of coffee, tea, juice, yogurt, cereal, granola bars, pastry, some bread and such to toast, the frozen items and perhaps a banana or apple. Basic fare, but as much as you like. The sticky buns were enormous. Check the fridge for other items like butter or cream cheese. The bathroom in the room was very clean with plenty of towels. The soaps, shampoo and conditioner brand names. Lots of toilet paper. My toiletry bag has a hook and I hung it from the towel rack. Not a lot of storage space for personal items but it was fine for us. There is a hair dryer on the wall. No closet in the room, and we did not ask if there is an iron available. There is a place to leave your luggage open and a dresser. There are several hooks on the wall by the window. The heater is on the wall below the window and operates through an on wall thermostat that the guest controls. Our view out back was of a small field and stream. Besides a king sized bed, the room contained a mini fridge, work area, love seat, TV and coffee table. Each piece, although a bit worn, was in working order and comfortable. Wifi is free, as is breakfast. Your room key also opens the outside security doors. Be sure to pull your room door tight and hear the 'click' when leaving for the day. We stayed at this location because it was close to people we were visiting. A couple of places for food or shopping in this town, however on a Sunday nothing was open. During the week it may be a different story, but there are other places within a 30 min, scenic drive. For our overnight it was a fine choice and for truckers who come and go weekly I can see how it would be a nice home away from home.
