There's nothing here. Nothing. HOWEVER, there are some lovely front desk staff who make having to be here worth it. I checked in with Britney and checked out with Brenden, and both were kind and as helpful as they could be given the isolation of this property. This property has been recently renovated, so many of the common areas and the hallways show this updating, but things like the carpet in the rooms and the bathrooms have clearly been an afterthought. I'm not mad, though, because this was a quick stop in a long journey to get home. Thankfully, everyone was nice, the hotel was quiet, and my bed was comfortable. The only reason this place gets 4 rather than 5 stars is the breakfast bag I got to-go. Who in their right mind serves a bagel with only peanut butter and jelly?! This is NY and I can't get cream cheese with my bagel?!?! COME ON, HILTON!

Every single staff member on my most recent two visits was polite, efficient, and super competent. The place is sparkling clean, and their housekeeping unit has a large staff (compared to similar places I've stayed recently). The pool room is super relaxing and (literally) warm; guests have their choice between a small whirlpool and a small regular pool. The latter was a bit too cold for me, but plenty of other folks made regular use of it. Breakfast is your typical Hampton Inn fare, though I've always thought Hampton's breakfast food is better than most economy/express hotels. (And don't tell anyone, but I may or may not have snuck in a bowl of Lucky Charms at one point...) More than anything, the staff there is just plain NICE, welcoming, and kind -- and in a clearly authentic, down-to-earth way. Thank you so much for your recent hospitality, and I hope to visit again soon!

We stayed here because my brother‑in‑law always books this hotel and it was close to the hospital…read morewhere our family gathered after my father‑in‑law was admitted. He passed away during our stay, and unfortunately the hotel added even more stress to an already heartbreaking week. Here's what we dealt with: * No housekeeping at all. Not once. My husband had to go get towels and sheets and change the bedding himself. * Indoor pool was freezing. Kids' lips literally turned purple. Staff shrugged off water temp concern. * Had to let shower run for over 15 minutes before warmer started to warm. It never got hot. * Room keys stopped working every day. We had to keep going back to the front desk in the cold. * Front desk service was poor. Couldn't print a receipt, took forever to find a working iron. * My expensive pillow + momme silk pillowcase went missing. Staff didn't even check the room when I called. * Outdoor green area was disgusting. Dog feces everywhere, clearly not maintained. * Strong cigarette smoke in a "Non‑Smoking" hallway. Made walking through the hall awful for anyone with asthma or sensitivities. * Guest laundry room was out of service the entire time, ( according to other reviews, for several month prior to our stay). Our family had three rooms total, and the experience was consistently bad across all of them. My husband will be traveling back weekly to handle his father's estate, but he'll be staying somewhere else from now on. This hotel needs serious attention from management and corporate. Cleanliness, maintenance, and basic guest service were all lacking.

Switched to room 244, room was fine until we tried to shower. NO WATER AT ALL COMING OUT, called to front desk for maintenance man.. he stated they had to turn off the water for this room due to the room downstairs.. they should've informed us. They advertise free coffee in Lobby 24/7.. we tried to get coffee 3x.. always empty. Went to the bar and the bartender was nowhere to be found, had to wait 5+ mins. The workers here aren't the best, I understand they could be new works or something but they couldn't even tell us how to get to our rooms as we checked in/switched rooms. Really did not enjoy our stay here. Very disappointed and upset I paid/used points for 2 nights here. I liked the Mark Twain more than this Hotel!

The grounds are well manicured. The bed was comfortable and the pillows are plentiful. The location cannot be beat. We had dinner and drinks at the Blue Pointe Grille the night we arrived. I was a little hesitant to eat at the hotel restaurant. I was bracing to be disappointed. Service was on point and cocktails were well made. Food was delicious. We had a high top in the bar right near a window for a nice view of the lake. Highly recommend.

It's rare that I'm dazzled by a hotel or feel that it's worth the money (they're all stupid…read moreexpensive these days), but Harbor Hotel was a wonderful experience I'd recommend to anyone. Don't get me wrong, it's expensive. But for once I felt like I'd gotten my money's worth! Everything everywhere was meticulously clean and well-kept. Our room was spacious and bright, with a private balcony and chairs, a couch and coffee table, and a full table that allowed us to take comfortable advantage of the room service breakfast. Potpourri sachets in the closet, free water bottles in the lobby, free coffee stations on each floor, and chocolates every night on the pillows--details, people! We also enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub, and of course the gorgeous patio and firepits overlooking the lake which was 80% of the reason we booked here. All of the staff we encountered, from the front desk to the housekeepers, were very friendly. I did think it was a little strange that the fitness center was in a whole different building and you have to walk across the parking lot to get to it, but hey--you get your steps in. The hotel is also very centrally located. On the water, of course, but next door to Seneca Harbor Station from which you can book lake cruises. It's also less than a mile from the entrance to Watkins Glen State Park and hiking trails and only a 5-10 minute walk from most restaurants. We did most things on foot. When you do get back in the car, there are multiple wineries within a 15-minute drive. The only problem the whole visit was the hotel internet, which was terrible every day. You could make do in the daytime, but at night, when everyone was back in their rooms after the day out exploring, it was slow to the point of unusable, and I ended up turning on my data hotspot to even be able to check my email. I would not suggest bringing time-sensitive work with you, and you should not expect to be able to stream videos on your devices. Just disconnect, you'll be less frustrated. There is an onsite restaurant and bar, and while it's nothing mind-blowing, it is a nice option to have (and is one of the few "higher end" type places in Watkins Glen). Menu includes a few of the standard local wines, which was nice!
