Room was sufficient, clean, tidy, but furniture a little worn. King bed duvet was pilled from over washing, and bathtub needed resurfacing. Fridge was replaced and did not fit in credenza, leaving a large open space with cords and an opening on the back. Only three hangers in closet and mini safe did not work. Plenty of parking, but not much around hotel. A few fast food joints, a Lowes and a Walmart and Aldi nearby. No sit down restaurant other than an Applebees. Breakfast was standard hotel breakfast, only pork sausage and powdered eggs, waffles or pancakes. No oatmeal, just cereal, and an instant Folgers coffee machine, first time i have seen one. Coffee not bad. Unlikely i will stay here again, but for the area and price it was okay.

A property representative defined the damages as coffee and blood on one towel and one washcloth. I emailed the property requesting to see pictures. Property representative, Brandy Breese, replied with, "I do not feel you need the pictures." While a property representative did eventually post an adjustment to my credit card, the involved property representatives charged me before they provided an explanation or proof. A schedule of fees should be provided prior to booking.

Some weeknights there is a social hour (aka free dinner) with some reallly tasty items (salad usually with something fun like pizza, sliders, quesadillas, hamburgers etc) free wine and beer as well. Coffee and tea available at all times, and a pantry with items you may have forgotten but also awesome treats and beverages! Even wine! There is a laundry and fitness room, really good pool and spa with jets as well as a basket ball court, library and business center room. We really enjoyed the food and we had a room super close to the dining area. The pool was a bit if a walk, however its way faster to cut through the courtyard (bring your key!!) They have fresh cookies at the desk in the afternoons, I don't even like sweets, but the cookies are like crack. Not sure who makes them or if they are just tube dough but keep doing what you are doing. (Try the strawberries from breakfast with the cookies...) This place can easily feel like home with how comfortable it is. So close to corning and the finger lakes, its a no brainer.

The area is very quiet at night which was appreciated coming from a 3 hour time zone difference. The next morning Chris gave us directions to the Corning museum and informed us of the bar and what time libations would be served. Everyone from Therese the female bartender we met Friday night were as professional and courteous as possible. Lastly, Housekeeping and the manager of housekeeping came by our room to ensure everything was to our satisfaction during out stay. Even the engineer asked my wife as she was walking to the elevator if there were any issues to please let him know. Class and Customer Service at its finest. If you are ever in the Corning area this place is worth the stay!

Don't get me wrong, it's expensive. But for once I felt like I'd gotten my money's worth! Everything everywhere was meticulously clean and well-kept. Our room was spacious and bright, with a private balcony and chairs, a couch and coffee table, and a full table that allowed us to take comfortable advantage of the room service breakfast. Potpourri sachets in the closet, free water bottles in the lobby, free coffee stations on each floor, and chocolates every night on the pillows--details, people! We also enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub, and of course the gorgeous patio and firepits overlooking the lake which was 80% of the reason we booked here. All of the staff we encountered, from the front desk to the housekeepers, were very friendly. I did think it was a little strange that the fitness center was in a whole different building and you have to walk across the parking lot to get to it, but hey--you get your steps in. The hotel is also very centrally located. On the water, of course, but next door to Seneca Harbor Station from which you can book lake cruises. It's also less than a mile from the entrance to Watkins Glen State Park and hiking trails and only a 5-10 minute walk from most restaurants. We did most things on foot. When you do get back in the car, there are multiple wineries within a 15-minute drive. The only problem the whole visit was the hotel internet, which was terrible every day. You could make do in the daytime, but at night, when everyone was back in their rooms after the day out exploring, it was slow to the point of unusable, and I ended up turning on my data hotspot to even be able to check my email. I would not suggest bringing time-sensitive work with you, and you should not expect to be able to stream videos on your devices. Just disconnect, you'll be less frustrated. There is an onsite restaurant and bar, and while it's nothing mind-blowing, it is a nice option to have (and is one of the few "higher end" type places in Watkins Glen). Menu includes a few of the standard local wines, which was nice!
