Blakes Paving was contracted to expand my driveway Collegeville PA. We had a dispute that cost me large amount of time and money. Long story short - I was conned by a Family member claiming to be part of the business/represented they owned the business, however it was NOT Richard or his Father - who when I finally found out and got a hold of the real owners - they fixed the situation and made everything right. These guys are good people, made good on a word that they didn't even provide and in my eyes are a great example of doing right by the customer. Make sure you are talking with Richard or his Father directly who own the business when contracting. read more

we had used them a few times, we needed another sealcoat and we dealt with austin ( blond guy) and looked nothing like blake but, bc of familiar with them doing a fine job, i said i would not be home but would leave a check ... my fault for trusting that guy, came over to get the check and that's all ! we were away for a few days so it was good timing to let it cure. i called the owner who told me the guy was on drugs...sorry. no offer to come and do the work. he said austin no longer worked for him. and sorry you are out the $300 read more

From quote to new asphalt driveway in 4 days. Our home is downhill from the street and as a result - we have had puddling issues close to our house since we moved in. We explained the problem and Blake's was able to replace the driveway and direct the water to our French drain. 3 other services said that the water management would be a hard issue to tackle. The team at Blake's assured us they dealt with water drainage issues before and it wouldn't be an issue. Couldn't be happier with how this project turned out. read more

Very disappointed in the quality of their work. I have very specific requests and all of them were ignored by Blakes paving. dumped debris on my lawn and never corrected. they were to expand the driveway and did not prepare the base properly. i have grass growing out of my driveway around the perimetereter. They came in person to give me an estimate and walked toy entire driveway asking questions about what I wanted and what they could do for my driveway's odd problems. Good price, showed up on time, did a great job in two hours. My only complaint is that I had to leave my garage door open all day and I ended up with little bits of asphalt grit and dust everywhere. To be expected, I guess, and the end result was worth a trip to the car wash for they car I should have moved to the street before they started. read more

We made the mistake of giving their contractor, Johnny Stevens, $300 as a downpayment on materials to do a driveway sealcoat. The guy cashed the check before the holidays and ghosted us. Repeated calls and messages have been ignored. Do not recommend these people. read more

Just had Blakes Paving back after 18 years to repave our 370 foot long driveway. Super job and impressed with the way all 8 of them showed up on time, got to work and were off to their next job. Truly a family business as the second, third and fourth generations were present working on the job. I do know if there is any problem they will be back to fix it. Also, there were no surprise extras on the final bill. I was concerned because there was a recent review for this company that was completely off the wall and it did not sound like Blakes. Having read this review I note my city is Berwyn, PA and not some place in Virginia. read more

Blake's repaved my driveway at a fair price. I liked that they milled the whole driveway before paving and they did a good job making sure grading allowed water to drain away from the house. Finishing could have been neater in some places as there are some uneven areas where you can see lines from the roller. read more

Blake's Paving came out and repaved our driveway last year. It was full of holes and you could see the loose stone underneath. They meticulously patched the bad areas and then repaved the whole thing. We had a hard time finding someone who would tackle the project as we have an extremely steep driveway on a very busy road. Background: My original driveway was 40 years old, had numerous pot holes, was seriously degrading at some areas where weeds had invaded, and deep indentations under the carport where water and ice would accrue. My driveway is a single entry that turns into a circle before rejoining carport and garage entrance. The carport and garage are at the bottom of the hill. I asked for a regrading and filling-in of the problem spots. Initial Meeting: Richard was very friendly and professional. He pointed out the problems in the carport and promised to regrade them them. Talked me through the complexities of the downhill driveway and how he would attempt to solve them without major work. I had gotten prices for past houses with similar driveways and knew his quote (after some bargaining) was very competitive. After Work Completed: Wow. I have a perfect driveway now. Built up edgings where one could previously not be sure where driveway and grass ended. All indentations filled in. But... I needed to know how the work would handle heavy rains before posting a review. After May 5th Rains: As Richard mentioned, the general water flow bypassed the carport. No water at all in carport after heavy rains. Overall, very pleased compared with previous water flow patterns. Summary: I waited to post a review until I saw how heavy rains would react. Now I can say that I fully recommend Blake's Paving. I plan to have some house work done in the future, and I will most certainly call them if my driveway is damaged by that heavy machinery to protect my investment. read more

Looked far and wide and talked to many paving contractors. Got several opinions as to how to fix our badly cracked and buckled driveway. It was very hard to tell what exactly was the right solution for us. 2 inches of topper or 1 and 3 or 2 and 2 BCBG, and the prices were all over the place. These guys are straight up get it done right. They came quickly to give me an estimate and after showing them a comparable one they met the price. They were hard to pin down for a date but did call to let me know they had not forgotten about me. It rained a ton at the beginning of the season so I can understand the uncertainty, we waited 14 years a couple of weeks did not make a difference. Its a father son operation, with a really hard working crew. The got every little errant stone off the grass. All the corners and lines are straight. When the paving machine was to wide to fit down the driveway, they did it by hand, without any complaining, up charging etc. The one disappointment is they were going to try to fix some of the edging stones, but were not able to in the end which was a bummer, but I knew how difficult it would be to fix them as they are each 3 feet long and 18 inches high. I thought of it as a bonus as the price did not include it. Other contractors did make it explicit but wanted several thousand dollars more to do them which was not worth it to me, so I did not include it in my calculation. However, the paving was 100%, they came in level everywhere and finished off the entrance correctly which is not the case with many of the other driveways I have seen done recently. The trucks were perfectly choreographed and they got it done in one day instead of the two that everyone else said it would take. They picked up 3 layers of previous driveway and it looks great. I would highly recommended, however if there is something beyond the paving like the stones that you want done, I would talk it through with them so you don't end up disappointed, we were very happy. read more
