I totally understand she's busy during peak viral seasons but 24 hours going by when treatment could have started is a long time. One more day of discomfort and another sleepless night. Lesson learned that you'll need to keep on their office to get prescriptions filled.

It had been stressful to say the least. Most of our time had been spent in the rental car driving to see family from Columbus to Springfield to New Hampshire. By the last week I was drained. For the past 3+ years I have been fighting what had only in the last 3 months been diagnosed as "Valley Fever". It is a fungal infection common to the desert and areas of California. Doctors in our home area of Arizona, who should have been familiar with the symptoms, failed to correctly identify the problem. My wife, recognizing the fact that I was in no shape to go on, parked my butt in the emergency room at Blanchard Valley. The people there were great even though they were unfamiliar with "Valley Fever". Dr. Grace, the admitting doctor told us that "Blanchard Valley was truly blessed to have one of the best infectious disease doctors in the country". I'm thinking, "ok, bring him on, I want to meet this guy". Later that evening Dr. Ratnasamy came into my room and I realized that the admitting doctor knew what he was talking about. I have never felt so comfortable speaking to a doctor for the first time. You could tell that, maybe he doesn't see patients everyday with "Valley Fever" but he sure knew a lot about it. He took over my treatment and I saw him 3 more times before I was discharged. Actually he was the last person I saw that day. He gave me a full set of doctors notes and test results so I could take the back for my Arizona doctors. Ok, this impressed me. What really blew me away was the phone call I got from him last night, over a week since we arrived back home and almost 2 weeks since he had seen me in the hospital in Findlay. How many doctors would take the time to follow up on a patient that chances are they would never see again? Most around here don't even if they are your primary care doctor. Dr Ratnasamy said he was just closing out my file and wanted to check on how I was doing and what my local doctors had said. In my opinion, that's dedication. Dedication to what he does and who he does it for. The world needs more people like him.

I really don't know how Med1Care got to me but it has been one of the best healthcare experiences in my life. Their commitment to me has been and still is exemplary. Charlie taught me to walk without mechanical assistance again and recover my balance; Terri and Kelly helped me retrain my brain to remember things using assist tricks as minor as Post-It notes and lists, putting frequently used items (keys, shoes, purse, et cetera) in the same place every time so I'm not constantly searching for them and making myself and everyone around me nuts helping me find them over and over again. Erin is a lovely young woman with terrific nursing skills and is always looking for the less obvious issues I'm having and helping me to fix them. Then there's Stu (aka Stuh). Stu's job with me is to help me retrain some of the pathways in my brain between the optic nerve and the rest of my brain. I have had vision issues since the surgeries and delay in recognition of what I should be seeing and responding more quickly to. The goal is to be able to drive again and be more independent. We're not there yet, but almost. Barring something odd, it shouldn't be that much longer before we reach that independence goal. Last, but certainly not least, is Colleen. She is not only an administrator overseeing all the PTs, she's been hand's-on with me from Day One. If I have a question or concern she always (and I do mean always) makes herself available to me. I know I'm not the only person to receive the largesse of her time and knowledge...She takes care of everyone with competence and humor. I think Kelly should be included here as well. She leads the OTs and, like Colleen, she is hands-on with me and is seriously funny, too. Neither of these professional women are paper-pushers. They interact directly with their clients and are willing to go as far as necessary to make sure their clients' needs are met and that the appropriate caregiver is matched to the appropriate client as much as humanly possible. I figured out pretty quickly the quality of care depends on who is the aide and who are the office…read morepeople. Many places have miscommunication with staff and clients. It's easier to just talk with aid directly to avoid confusion. Also the staff should act more professional not arguing or interrupting clients on phone. They dont seem to know what's going on. Why would you schedule an aide when the client isn't home? Most clients especially regulars see many healthcare providers. They need to schedule what works for the provider not the aid. If hours don't work for an aide find an aide that will be available. Don't tell the client they can not attend important appointments that they wait months for just because 1aid doesn't want to wake up early. Also saying that the client needs to go with the times they have available and if that doesn't work then to go without them or use a different agency after they agreed to take you.

They have helped diagnose symptomatic tonsil/adenoid problems for 2 of our kids, made room for adult teeth in our son's mouth with an expander, guided a permanent tooth down that was growing the wrong way in the roof of our daughter's mouth (sparing her from needing an implant), filled some cavities, and fixed some sensitivity issues with receding gums. What an excellent and skilled dentist!! All of our kids look forward to going to Dr. Davis' office to have their check-ups and cleanings. Throughout all of our care, Dr. Davis and his staff have been very knowledgeable, competent, trustworthy, and kind. When making decisions, Dr. Davis was never pushy but instead let us know all our options and what he would do for his own children. I admit my standards are high but this past Thursday my expectations were surpassed by Dr. Davis and his staff. If I could give 10 stars I would. I called at 5:00pm and explained that my toddler had an impacted molar and was causing her pain. I asked if there was any way they could squeeze her in the next day due to insurance issues. I was put on a brief hold and when the receptionist came back, she said Dr. Davis said we could come in right then so she wouldn't be in pain over night. Wow! I have worked in multiple offices all over the country and let me tell you, not many providers would do this! When we arrived the front office staff greeted us warmly and the playhouse in the waiting room was an instant hit with my daughter. The wait was minimal; 10 minutes at most. Once in the exam room, the dental hygienists & Dr. Davis were GREAT with my daughter who did not want to open her mouth. They demonstrated patience with her, which I was extremely grateful for. My daughter's tooth ended up not being impacted. I was relieved but oh my, did I feel silly! The staff were extremely kind and said there was no reason to be embarrassed. We will definitely be returning to Dr. Davis' office.
