They've just recently upped the prices...what was once a £4 box of salad is now £8!! Ludicrous!

There was another woman ordering lots of takeaway and some snacks to enjoy while she waited, and a few couples, but the place was quiet. As I looked over the menu, I saw that they also have garlic & onion free options. As I have a colleague who is always looking for such options, and I don't see that much in the states, I wondered if that's something that most places here advertise. I chose the saag paneer with naan and rice pilau. Saag paneer was tasty, a little runnier than I'm accustomed to, but still great flavor, and just what I needed. Rice was unimpressive - I wish I'd just eaten the saag with a spoon. Service was meh - not friendly, but not rude. Didn't really seem interested in serving me - just ticking boxes.

Aurora is right, they are very friendly and helpful, you are treated so nicely, you are even spoiled and then Sagar becomes the measuring stick of other restaurants, in terms of customer service. It mainly specialises in dishes from South India, like the dosa (rice pancakes type), other wonderful things about this place include the lunchtime special which is a real steal, at £4.50 for a big selection of dishes - it includes dosas, poppadoms and desserts! The place itself seems a bit cramped maybe a couple of tables too many, so it can be annoying when children are running around, so I would recommend going on a weekday. And another thing, £3.75 for a takeaway box is stupidly cheap so it must be taken advantage of immediately.

It is located in the outdoor part of the mall, on the corner, the vibes inside the restaurant are pretty cool, especially for a mall location. My table looked a little beaten and worse for wear, though it looked like it had been banged and potentially damaged by a candle. I was disappointed with the service here, as I encountered issues with multiple staff members. After being seated, my waitress seemed distracted and wasn't listening. She initially tried to take me to a larger party's table, and I had to explain that I had booked a table for one. Another staff member overheard our conversation and brought me the gluten-free menu as she didn't. I then had an issue with a different female staff member who ignored me completely while setting cutlery on another table, leaving mine without any. I had to take cutlery from another table, and she again seemed frustrated when she had to set this table again after noticing what I had done. Finally, when I asked a male staff member to remove the service charge, he initially claimed he couldn't do it. He made out that it would be such a rigmarole to remove it as he'd have to do it manually and couldn't remove it when using the payment app- he made it unnecessarily awkward and then began questioning why I'd remove it in the first place. I ordered the fish pie, which was made gluten-free, the cheese and chive mash on top was fantastic; it was really tasty, and I also liked the sauce of the pie however, the fish, especially the salmon and the cod, wasn't pleasant, it was chewy. If you're ordering a fish pie, the key part of the meal is the fish - and if they can't get that right, that's a big issue. My side of rosemary salted fries was fine, but they were average fries. They didn't taste fresh, and the difference between the rosemary salted fries here and at Honest Burger, where they are far superior, is night and day. They offered me a voucher for a future visit to Bill's, which I plan to use soon. I intend to update my rating after my next visit, hoping this was just a one-off incident or an off day rather than a recurring issue. 2*

Truth be told, this little joint wasn't on my radar; I was actually searching for a different coffeeshop that I never found. Still, I was pretty famished, and I've had enough of brassieres to last me a lifetime. The service was friendly, right off the bat, and although I wasn't given the most comfortable table- given that I was alone- it wasn't a bad spot to dine in. The menu was pretty typical of vegan restaurants, with its usual gamut of "safer-than-soy" mushroom burgers, soups, salads, sandwiches, and a whole lot of superfood smoothies and tonics. With, again, a price tag to match. I went with their Redemption Burger- because it sounds so cool, doesn't it? It packs just about every superfood mushroom you can think of- from Reishi to Chaga and some other ones I can't pronounce- and flavorful veggies, all nestled between a charcoal bun, which, aside from looking cool acts as an extra toxin magnet when eaten in moderation. It also comes with a side of spicy slaw, and some fries, which to be honest, were on the soggier side of crispy. The whole meal, sans drink, came out to just under £20; which, while pretty darn delicious, I'm not sure I would pay again. I mean, it raised my acidity, for one thing. Still, we do a lot of things in the name of our health, and there are definitely worse places to eat in the area.

I really like the marble tables. The only thing I would say is that I think adding some more darker elements to the space would make it easily even better (e.g. the white walls are kind of boring). Lol I'm no interior decorator though -- I'm just sharing my thoughts. 3/5 SELECTION: It's all vegan and a lot of it is whole-food oriented, so there's not really anything super-processed on the menu, which is good. There's also a nice variety on the menu too -- breakfast foods, salads, bowls, pastas, burgers, soups, sides, etc. 4/5 WHAT I GOT: I got their Tokyo Bowl with the dressing on the side. It was okay, but I just wish I got something else instead because it was kind of lackluster in my opinion. It comes with brown rice, avocado, cucumber, radish, chilli, hijiki seaweed, and sesame seeds. To me, it just tasted like onion-y rice, and onions always leave a bad taste in my mouth. I mean, it tasted fresh and the ingredients seemed of good quality, but I guess it just wasn't the dish for me. I'm not gonna keep bagging on it though because I just should've thought it out better and gotten something else, especially considering the other people I was with's meals looked good and tasted pretty good from the bites I got to try. I'd definitely go back here to do that. 3/5 SERVICE: The service was pretty good. Our waiter was nice -- he even noticed that one of our tables was wobbly and bent down and all to fix it, even though it wasn't even a big deal and we didn't even ask. The rest of the staff seemed fine too. And, our food came out in good timing as well. 4/5

We rarely visit the mall at Shepherd's Bush, so I was quite surprised to see this large counter for Sacred serving coffee at one of the entry points. They have a large circular open space here, with a few bar stool type seating options around the counter. However, there is some cushioned mall seating behind their space, if you want to relax and enjoy sipping on your coffee. Service was quick, and we just carried our coffees to go. Perfect rich brew, just how I love it. Extra milk is available at the sugar counter if you need it. They have a lot of different milk varieties to cater to vegans or allergies - soy, almond and a few others too. Much much cleaner than that famous American coffee chain shop inside the mall, so no icky sticky feeling when you leave.

As compared with the ubiquitous chains, Sacred is actually a 5-star coffee joint. By this, I mean…read morethat they serve espresso in which one can actually distinguish different flavours and textures. Their flat white is good, too. They are undoubtedly serious about coffee, and this has been one of my favourite places for a pick-me-up when out-and-about in W12. This small kiosk of a cafe at the opposite end of Westfield's Atrium to Starbucks (Sacred was there first!) is one of the only places in W12 I relish visiting - and I do so very often. How can the Starbucks punters not see the kiosk at the other end where the coffee is real, the baristas are actual human beings and the customers don't all look like they have given up on life? I digress; a comparison with Starbucks is like comparing apples with pears. Sacred serves the best flat white in W12 (although that's not saying much), and has very friendly staff. Most importantly, in this day and age of chain cafes, it's so important that the independent businesses succeed on the consistency of their output. This is something the chains do well (albeit consistently bad, it's at least predictable). I know I have been served too many bad coffees at what I had thought were decent independent cafes or coffee shops only to have my objections met with snide responses like "it's espresso sir. It is supposed to be extremely strong and bitter". Oh, you mean bitter with a hint of rubber seal, undertones of limescale and old beans with a strong burnt taste? Frankly it's enough to make you want to give up on independent places and take your business back to a chain where at least they will remake the drink when it's bad. Note, only in the UK is this such an issue. Not Sacred. I have been drinking at Sacred since 2008, I have found the consistency of the quality of espresso to be exceptional, and I have complained about a drink only once. Towards the end of my 'use' of Starbucks many years ago I could barely leave without complaining about something. So that's clearly good. 95% of my flat whites are crafted with very impressive latte art and taste as heavenly as they look. The other 5% are pretty damned good. Heavenly - this leads me onto my next point. I like the subtle branding, very Roman Catholic Ironic with the statue of Mary in the middle of the kiosk, following a theme of the worship of coffee. And what a joy to see a non-global, independent business being given a central stage in the most extravagant shopping mall in London. I have only two gripes with Sacred. The first is that they don't serve espresso in heated porcelain. What a shame. Secondly the food offerings are not good, with the exception of the brilliant antzac biscuits and home baked cookies. Croissants aren't great, and paninis are served with a horrid smelling microwaved relish: avoid. Five stars, if the espresso came in porcelain. If you like your espresso over-extracted, then further ruined with copious amounts of burnt milk poured over the top, then topped off with a ridiculous amount of foam to hide the murkey grey-brown mixture lying beneath, definitely give this place a miss and try Starbucks across the way ;)
