One of my favorite bakeries in Notting Hill! There isn't much dining space available inside the cafe, but it's perfect for grabbing a quick pastry and salad before heading to the park or sitting outside. The displays are gorgeous, and they rotate their selection of baked items regularly so there are a lot of choices. The staff are very friendly and patient! It is on the pricier side, but perfect if you feel like treating yourself!

Probably one of the best meals we had in London. We didn't have a reservation, but the wait time wasn't too long even though it was a pretty beautiful day in peak lunch hours. The staff was really friendly. All the food was amazing. We could've had five more meals here and tried everything.

Absolutely worth going!!! I picked the Large box with a little bit of everything in it for 24£. I also chose a chicken thigh separately which was so juicy and tender. The veggie balls were a bit too salty for me. But the asparagus and beans were my favorite. Super crunchy, juicy and tasty. Also the Brokkoli was so fresh and crunchy to a point where I was asking myself "wow how do they make the veggies so crunchy and tasty???" with each bite I had. Hummus was very unique. Not the hummus I'm used to but very good and creamy! Also loved the roasted potatoes and eggplants. But what really blew me away was the packed granola cookies you can buy there. SO SO SO DELICIOUS. There are nuts in there topped with white chocolate. Speechless. The best cookies I've ever had. Also the salty caramel dark chocolate bites were amazing. Never had something like this before. Salty and a little bit sweet with chunks of caramel and hazelnuts on it. Also the flourless macadamia nuts cookies were super delicious. You can't tell that it flourless and they are pieces of macadamia nuts inside. So so good! I also bought the pistachio lemon polenta. WOW!!! I'm usually the chocolate cake kinda girl but this cake was something else. Definitely a must try!!! Very lemony, light, buttery with a hint of vanilla/flowery taste. I bet you never had a lemon cake like this before. The pistachios made it creamy and nutty. But that unique flowery after taste will make you feel like you're in a dessert heaven. I wish I live in London! I would go here at least once a week for the veggies and everyday for the sweets. Wow. Wow. Wow!!!

The place is a bit small. You can sit at the communal table which is actually pretty fun as you get to make conversations with those around you. The breakfast menu doesn't have a lot of selection but the baking section is overflowing with sweet treats. The lunch gets you a selection of salads and a main type of meat (chicken, fish, beef, etc). It does get a bit pricier during lunch hours as the salads are priced by weight if you are getting it to go.

Ottolenghi! How do you pronounce your name!? At least I can't mess it up on Yelp. Anyway, this place was recommended to me by a dear friend and I'm so glad we went. This particular location only had a large table down some stairs, so most people take food to go. That's what we did. I think their salads are a bit different from other places, because they offer wider flavors and more imaginative options. They cooked their cauliflower with some kind of magic- the best cauliflower I've ever eaten at a restaurant- and that's really saying something! The eggplant (oh sorry, aubergine ;) ) dish was very good as well, and the pomegranate and yogurt sauce complimented it wonderfully. I also liked the sweet potato, and the green beans had a curry spice that was nice too. The desserts were beautiful but I didn't try any. The only thing is- high quality delicious stuff comes with a price. Additionally, the plates of food are sitting out towards the customers, leaving it quite easy for people to breathe, cough, or shed their hair on them.

So, I've been waiting almost 4 years to come try Ottolenghi 's food. Delicious, warming food in a mod space. I wish I had a longer stay because I would have definitely loved to have come here more. I think if I were a local this would be a staple in my weekly breakfast rounds. I had the mixed berry and fig financier. This was absolutely delicious and exceeded my expectations...crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside Really well portioned as I couldn't entirely finish this.

LOL, upon entering this bistro/bakery and seeing the amazing display of cakes, pies, desserts and platters of fantastically prepared Mediterranean appetisers (roast pumpkin, beetroot puree, grilled vegetables, hummus etc) I knew I was gonna spend a few hours there. Right before ordering I told the waitress not to be shocked because we were hungry. She didn't blink when we ordered everything :-D Guess we weren't the first Ottolenghi enthusiasts. The first impression was good, it was all delicious and I will definitely go back for much more. I was actually thinking to bring a tent and permanently camp in front of this bakery LOL PS: the place is very very small, so it's perfect for takeaway, not so great for a party of more than two people, as they only have one large table downstairs, which customers share. If you can, avoid lunch break and weekends as it can get pretty busy.

Rave reviews are dangerous things... they practically beg for your disappointment. This is exactly what happened with me and Ottolenghi... I'd heard so many good things, and walked past their windows so many times... both in Islington, and at this outlet in Notting Hill, bewitched, enticed, even driven to salivation, by what I saw and the enthusiastic awe with which people spoke of it. If there was a darling ode to epicure that I was eager to try, the sophisticated Ottolenghi - with its heaps of mosaic salads on staggered platforms and heavenly baked goods looking like sheer sin against that gleaming white backdrop - was it. Everything just looked so *good*... it *had* to *be* good. And so it was that I arrived at the Notting Hill Ottolenghi's doorstep agog; waiting to be whisked off my little foodie feet... based on sheer seductive looks alone they had a head start on the feet-whisking without me even sampling a morsel... but like most things that aren't what they appear to be, Ottolenghi let me down - hard and fast. To start - two caveats about the Notting Hill branch: 1) There is no toilet (but they'll let you wash your hands where the counter staff does, right next to the till. I know, I know, you were thinking that this place was supposed to be pretty chichi, or at least chichi enough to have toilets - yes, I did too). 2) There is no wine list... even though their salads and savory nibbles are screaming to be paired up with say, a crisp Sauvignon Blanc or even a casual Côtes du Rhône... no, gingerbeer is as hard as it gets. I will leave it up to you to rank those two caveats in order of importance or relevance to your own situation ... after arriving here one late afternoon to meet a friend, rather cold and tired after a stressful week...they were both of great import and relevance to me. *Now* onto Ottolenghi's famous food - and this is where it starts to get really disappointing... because, after giving my bladder a pep talk about its need to be patient with me, and ordering some sparkling water in lieu of a Syrah... my consolation was that the food was all going to be worth it.... Ha. I chose to go with the "small salad" sampler, which allowed me to choose three of the gorgeous looking salads in the front window for just under £10. After plenty of consternation over which salads I should order, when they arrived, I realized I needn't have fretted over the matter so much, because, well, there wasn't enough on my plate to have bothered fretting about. Now, I'm really not one to quibble on the matter of portion-size... I'm a relatively small eater and can too-often be satisfied with a mere appetizer.... and I never ever mind paying for a small nibble if the asking price is more than worth it... But what came on my plate, however, was an absolute joke... seriously, the mass of the three salads *together* didn't appear much bigger than the size of my (relatively small) fist. I've uploaded the picture of it, go have a look for yourself (keep in mind that the plate was no more than 8-inches in diameter) and gape at the absurdity that I was charged 10 quid for something like 5 pea pods, 3 carrots, and some other token wilted veg miscellany - without even a glass of wine in hand to take the edge off. Most disappointingly, even beyond the overpriciness of the sampler, was the taste. Both the green beans and the roasted vegetables were too oily and there was nothing particularly outstanding or creative about the flavour - especially not more so than what I come up with at home. The roasted vegetable salad did have a nice addition of fresh cranberries, but it's the holidays, and cranberries are pretty obvious embellishment this time of year, so I don't give them too much credit for the thought. Perhaps the best thing among my three mouthfuls was the aubergine with its saffron yogurt and pomegranates... now, that was a *little* more scintillating for the palette, but just a little. It was all such a shame, especially since the staff was, to be fair, really nice - but when our waitress offered us dessert, we declined... who cared anymore? Nothing could make up the let-down of the meal. I would never ever come to Ottolenghi to sit down and dine again... but if I lived in the area... and was in a pinch for dinner... I suppose the takeaway here might suffice... however, if I were in that exact same pinch, and could manage to make it to the Whole Foods takeaway counter... Whole Foods would win, hands down.

This place has sold me on their salads alone, and the fact that my sister came here a bunch last time she was in town, made it seem good from the start. You can order food for takeway or sit down, which is what I did. There's a small white table down the stairs with community seating, I ordered the main dish with two side salads. I got the chicken, which had some delicious cumin and soy blend, as well as roasted cauliflower saffron salad and the aubergine with pomegranate and yogurt (so amazing). I will now have to contemplate how to make this everyday at home. The pastries you cannot pass up either, the lemon cake with pistachios was so good I didn't take a picture. Be prepared to spend some money on salads here! Save your drinking money for salads :) or atleast some. It's worth it.

This is a very dangerous place indeed. If the the way the cakes and cookies are stacked in the window don't tempt you, then pop your head around the door and check out the display of enticing salads and meats laid out before the customers. There's something so innocent yet delightful about the chaotic manner the dishes are presented, and everything looks so fresh and exotic. It's almost like the mad-hatter's tea party! Their philosophy is originality in mostly Mediterranean-style cuisine with the best raw ingredients, so whether it's grilled mackerel with olive and raisin salsa, orange and pistachio marshmallows or upside down pear cake, there is something to delight everyone's taste buds. There is a daily changing menu here, and if you're close perhaps it's best to email or call Hilary for a copy at 11am.

Honestly, feeling a strong sense to give a one star review. Never thought I would be asked to leave…read morethe table "because the next party has arrived"... and at a Greek establishment? With wine still in our glasses, and coffee still hot?! Sorry, have to give a HUGE thumbs down on service. And offer my disbelief and dissatisfaction at whoever is managing this restaurant and borrowing from Greek culture, whilst missing out on the key component of Greek dining. Either you're a sell out. Or you're an outsider and you're exploiting Greek culture and cuisine. One the website we get: "MAZI, which means 'together' in Greek", but it should be followed with, "... but don't take too long, we will ask you to leave." Having said all of that, and trying not to affect the rest of the review, food was not great. Mushroom Chicken was the best dish (was the priciest line item - second to their service charge - but the only dish that I was impressed with). Tiger Prawn risotto was very bad (both the prawn, and the risotto). Grilled Octopus was average (size, prep and quality of octopus left a lot to be desired). The Calamari Citrus was also less than average. Lot's of the seafood sadly missed the mark - Tuna Crudo was the most satisfactory of all the seafood items. I will say that the cocktails were prepared well. Including a welcome drink. And the juices were fresh - albeit expensive. In fact, everything was overpriced - but it is London, I get it. Still wish the food tasted better. The atmosphere was loud and energetic. The cherry on top was the service charge (highest line item on the bill). Cheers to ownership and management for appropriating Greek culture and putting a heavy London spin on the dining experience. My family would have had some choice words for you, thankfully they were not present to be insulted. Anyone wanting Greek food, I would recommend to look elsewhere. The culture and cuisine has A LOT to offer, unfortunately Mazi disappointed for us.

Came here on a recommendation of a friend who lives in London and we were not at all disappointed…read more We started with some great cocktails and I really enjoyed the Aegean Negroni I opted for; the addition of black pepper simple syrup really added to the complexity of the drink. Every single dish we had was superb, from the jars of tzatziki and tiropita to the crispy calamari and seabass tartare to start. The fresh bread, which was lightly charred, really paired well with the tzatziki and tiropita which were lightly whipped and so flavorful. The seabass came with a cucumber and jalapeno broth which had just the right amount of spice to elevate the fish. For main we split the lamb and grilled octopus which were both perfectly prepared. The lamb, which appeared to be sous vide, was cooked to an exquisite medium rare and the octopus had a great char both was still tender. The service and setting were both great and we highly recommend this establishment.
