He was also flexible in additional requests we had along the way (like asking for a final glossy coat to finish the wood floors). I was originally going to replace carpet with LVP but found wood floors under the carpet! We chose to have the wood floors refinished and stained and they turned out fantastic! It looks like a completely new space. The job was scheduled within a few days and was completed on schedule. Included (for a fee) in the quote was assistance putting furniture back in the room which was helpful. I'd contact Antoine again for future flooring needs.

Derick Kesler gave us great advice from beginning to end and after shopping other options we decided to employ Lewis Company. If you are looking for integrity and knowledge this is the place to go. We love our floors and felt Derick went above and beyond in providing us with the best customer service. Not a flashy showroom; just great flooring, customer service and excellent products.

From a neighbor reference, I had Lewis Flooring install hardwood flooring in our bedroom. When…read morepreparing the estimate, I stated that I wanted the floors paste waxed, not polyurethane. They stated that was not their norm, but would'nt be a problem. Their subcontracted installers did a great job on the floor installation and stain. Lewis Flooring came out to wax and buff the floors. They arrived with an empty can of paste wax. After a trip to Lowes/Home Depot, they began to apply the wax. Not using cheese cloth as recommended on the can, they applied the wax with household rags, resulting in various thicknesses of wax on the floor. They also forgot to bring a Lambs Wool buffing pad, again as recommended, and used nylon carpet remnants smearing the overly waxed floors. The moved the furniture back ending at 5PM on a Friday. I spent the next Saturday and Sunday removing portions of the wax and re-buffing with the appropriate pads.

My experience with Tim is more in line with those reviews. I needed a kitchen sink replaced with one I provided and the board beneath the sink replaced. Tim quoted me originally at $725 but dropped it to $575 if I stopped looking for other contractors for the job and signed on with him. I agreed to this and paid him 50% of the full amount as a deposit to get my time slot scheduled. Tim did not return calls, and only responded to texts. Originally, the work was scheduled for Wednesday at noon. 20 minutes before the appointment time, I texted Tim asking if we were still good for that time. He texted me 2 hours after our agreed upon time that the roads were still icy and we would reschedule. Rescheduled for Saturday around 2pm. Tim did not arrive by 2pm so I asked if he had an ETA. Tim texted and said his plumber was busy with a job. We rescheduled to Sunday at 9:30am (today, at the time of writing). I would be the only job for the day according to him. Tim did not arrive at 9:30am. Texted him at 9:50 for an ETA. Texted him again at 10:40 to get an update, and no response. At that point, I was done. I asked him for a refund on my deposit, and have since not gotten a response. I took a chance on Tim and it is unfortunate that we could not work things out. Rescheduling is fine, being late is fine. Not communicating either of those until hours after an appointment is not. I would not recommend Tim or Smart Renovations due to lack of communication and poor management.

He is not a man of his word, ever…read more Professionalism and Communication are non-existent skills * Does not call if he is running late or even if he plans on showing up * You must initiate ALL communication, typically text, and if he does reply you cannot believe what he tells you * We heard "I'm on the way" - never showed more than once Zero consideration - for us or our goal which he promised would not be a problem. Tim did not call or text to let us know he was here he jumped our fence to get into the backyard; this of course sent our dog into a barking frenzy and rightfully so. She knew someone jumping her fence was not the way things were supposed to work. This happened on 3 different days. Timeline - Agreed upon schedule: * Start on Tuesday, August 20th - clear the lawn and set the form for the slab * Wednesday, August 21st - stain the fence and pour the concrete * Thursday August 22nd - remove forms and clean up Actual work (not a schedule - it was hit or miss) * Friday, August 23rd - came late in the day to stain the fence * Saturday Aug. 24th - cleared the grass and set the form for the concrete. o When he left he said he would be back on Monday to pour; leaving us with a mess and exposed rebar; not safe * Mon. Aug. 26th - Poured the concrete. The last thing he was committed to doing was to remove the forms used for our concrete slab; that was to be done on Thursday, a week after our original completion date. My husband worked to remove them today, Friday August 30th. Quality of work - I'm pretty sure a teenager could Google how to do this and do a better job. We requested a broom finish on the 9 x 12 concrete slab he built; the finish is more like pebbles and divots. Where the slab meets the existing patio there is a dip of about 1/2' , not safe at all. On the existing patio there are many spots/clumps of concrete. He broke a decorative garden item that is glass and not near where he was working or dragging the water hose or setting up the concrete mixer. Of course, we did not notice it before he left for the day and of course he has not returned. Job site clean up was a disaster because he did not show up to do it. Concrete and stone were left throughout our yard. I'm sure we'll be cleaning it up for months to come. We have found splashes of concrete on the house and the fence.
