Nice spot! The server was friendly, but it seems everyone in Fargo is nice. The restaurant is very cozy and has, what I imagine is an authentic Irish pub atmosphere. I've never been to Ireland, so I can't exactly confirm that LOL. Most of the food was good, with one exception, the beef stew. It tasted like what I imagine dog food would taste like, bland and no flavor! The burgers, on the other hand, were delicious! Jan was a hoot! Funny, personable, and just immensely fun to interact with. Four of us explored downtown Fargo and decided on the Blarneystone Pub for lunch. What a great decision that was. The bartender said we could sit anywhere we wanted to, so we chose a booth on the right side of the dining room right next to a gorgeous mural that covered the wall from floor to ceiling. It was a multi-media piece, with paint, bits of metal and glass, and all sorts of material. The next thing we admired was their deep, deep menu. Many of the listings had Irish accents like Emerald Island Dip, Irish Nachos, Mussels Malone, Pound O'sheamus Fries, Wings O'Malley, Belfast Barnyard, Blarney Dip, Emerald Chicken, Fibbers Fish Sandwich, Irish BLT, Donaldson Burger, Dubliner, Hot Headed Irishman, Smokie O'Leary, Black and Tan Sirloin, Fibber Flanagan's Fish and Chips, Guinness Irish Stew, Kilkenny Cod. And those don't include Corned Beef and Creamed Cabbage and Shephard's Pie! We ordered a Guinness ($7.75), an IPA ($7.75), a Margarita ($7.99), a Strawberry Pecan Salad ($18.99), a Classis Pub Cheeseburger ($16.99), a Taco Salad with Chicken ($17.49), and a Reuben Sandwich ($17.99). The burger and Reuben came with great waffle fries. My Taco Salad was quite delicious. A generous portion of fresh crisp lettuce, seasoned chicken, shredded Jack cheese, pico, jalapenos, a cilantro lime dressing. It was served with salsa and chips. Currently (12/28) sitting at the bar here at Blarney Stone and WOW. Really impressed! The only reason I gave 4/5 is because I feel this busy bar should be staffed better! The staff deserve to have help! My bartender Chelsea is absolutely amazing. Very speedy and knowledgable about her drinks! Also super friendly and easy to talk to!! I ordered the Patty O'Reilly burger/patty melt/ sandwich.. whatever it is. I asked for it to be well done, it's full of pink and red meat. I asked for thousand island, it tasted nothing like that. I ordered another sauce which was mac sauce; so horrible, it was hot, had no flavor, tasted like cheese with the flour in it still. I haven't had bad food in so long; I'm so upset. The sandwich was hard, no "1000 island" in the sandwich. I ordered a cilantro cream sauce, it tasted like flavorless cream. It was an essence of cilantro. It would be like if I ate a handful of cilantro and breathed on the cream and gave it an essence of cilantro. I don't know the ambiance because I wasn't there. I ordered through delivery. The only thing that tasted somewhat good and was edible was the beef barley soup, and it was salty as hell. The fries were soft. The pickle was okay, but also overly salty. I won't be getting anything from here again. And update, Uber Eats would not give me any kind of compensation even though I didn't get what I ordered from. I won't be using Uber Eats anymore as they have difficult and horrible customer service and clearly do not care about the customer I will continue to use DoorDash.. read more

It was definitely a mediocre experience. We sat down and got drinks pretty quickly and placed our order. That was the best part. The food was okay. The nachos had overcooked cheese and mushy chips. The sandwich was okay. The salad was pretty good. Service started off good but when we were ready to pay we got to listen to our waiter and the bartender discuss at length the best tips they ever got neither making eye contact with us so we could get the check. 4.5 stars. Restaurants and bars are extra special when I visit twice within a short work trip. Came here for a drink while walking back from JL Beers around the corner. I was fascinated by the idea of "Married Drafts" so I tried the Apricot Man, which is literally Surley Axe Man IPA & Wasatch Apricot Hefeweizen poured into the same glass. The next night, I had an excellent Dirty Gin Martini. Unfortunately the kitchen closes at midnight, which is objectively a late time, but I came here after my work event and missed my cut-off to eat dinner. Oh well! It happens. Tessa was the bartender both nights and took great care of me. Would come back to try the food and more beverages. Plus, the hotel is cute and is continuing to expand! read more

I visited the Blarney Stone Pub on a recent trip to Fargo, ND. I ate there right after I pulled into town after a long drive. First, I enjoyed the atmosphere. The decor was a a traditional Irish Pub. I also enjoyed the few large screen TVs playing sport and loved the Cubs game was on of those TVs. Second, the food is good. I ordered the Guinness Irish stew, fish and chips, corned beef with creamed cabbage and a beer. Of all the dishes I tired, the Guinness Irish stew was the best. The soup had a nice flavor and it was full of large chunks meat and potatoes. The meat was tender was delicious. The fish and chips were very good, but not great. The batter was tasty and crispy. The fish was flakey and tender. The fries were crispy. The issue that I had with it was that it was way too salty. At first it was ok, but the more I ate, the more salty it got. I understand that this dish by definition should be salty, but this the most salty fish and chips I've ever had. It wasn't a fail, it would use few a tweaks to lower that saltiness level. Like the fish and chips, the corned beef with creamed cabbage was very good, but just short of great. The corned beef was just slightly overcooked on the edges, otherwise the dish was delicious. The service too was very good, but not great. Our waiter was friendly and our food came out very fast. My only issue is that waiter did not refill my water until it got to be so long I had to ask, which was annoying given the overly saltiness of the fish and chips. Also, I had asked for condiments, such as a malt vinegar. I would have thought that malt vinegar would have automaticly brought out given I ordered fish and chips. Again, the waiter didn't do anything that was a deal breaker, but some improvements around the edges are warranted. In sum, if you are in Fargo and want some Irish food, this is a good spot to get it at. read more

First of all we went on a Tuesday at 9:30pm while it was freezing outside, so I wasn't expecting it to be jam packed or anything. There were maybe 3 groups in there. I actually preferred it because I just wanted food but my friends wanted to drink so it was perfect! The bartender was very sweet, and so were the other bartenders there. It's an Irish pub, nice decor with Irish music playing in the background. They had a HUGE selection of food, and also for drinks. I got the Donaldson burger, the flavor was there, the juiciness of the bison was there, also a nice size for a burger. It came with waffle fries and they were perfectly crispy! Honestly took me a little second to figure out how to eat this burger because it was filled with grilled onions ! So I sliced that bad boy right in the middle!! If you want a great burger, great service, and a wide selection of draft beers, I say go to there! read more

Let me preface this by saying that the food was delicious as always. Today was service at it's worst. We have a group of 6-8 who go there every Sunday morning for breakfast. we have always had a complimentary Bloody Mary or Mimosa when you ordered from the full breakfast menu. So today, as usual when the server asked if we would like drinks, we each ordered the drink we usually do. I sked if she could make mine a Caesar with extra spice. The person next to me got his Bloody Mary and my glass came with just the Vodka. Obviously, I was totally confused. When I asked the server, why the guy sitting next to me got a full Bloody Mary and I just got Vodka. She said he didn't want to go through the Bloody Mary table to make his own. I told her that I never said that I wanted to. She said oh, I thought you did. Wouldn't you think that when I asked her to spice it up a little, that she would know I didn't want to go make my own. We were then informed that they just stopped serving complimentary drinks. I asked her if she could just take my glass of Vodka back and make the drink. When I got the bill, my drink was $7.00. When I said that I thought that the drink was $5.00, she said a Bloody Caesar was extra. Then I found out that for $5.00 more I could have had unlimited mimosas. Now, this has nothing to do with not getting a free drink or the opportunity to have unlimited mimosas. One would be plenty. It has to do with the service. The fiasco would not have occurred if the server would have come to out table and said, "would any of you like a beverage? And I want to add that we have changed our menu" And then gone on to explain the changes and options. This whole message may sound very confusing. It's probably because I'm still confused. read more

The good: drunken shrimp and mussels. There's a bar area, a restaurant area, and a rooftop bar. The bad: I accidentally broke a wine glass. The waitress was pleasant despite the extra effort required to clean up. However, I think it's customary to replace the wine. I had to purchase another glass. That is very bad form. Overall: we came here because Rustica, far superior for happy hour, was closed for the holiday week. I would consider another visit but the bad form leaves a sour taste. read more

I had high hopes for this Blarney Stone location, as I had recently had a great experience at their west Fargo location. Unfortunately, despite being well staffed, the service was severely lacking. We waited over five minutes for someone to take our order, this person was seemingly a manager but acted like he could not care less. He was impatient, unkind, and not willing to help or give recommendations on their lengthy beer selection. Just a minute after this, a kinder waiter came and tried to take our order. After the drinks were served, the kind waiter asked if we needed anything else and then disappeared. Countless staff passed our table of two with clearly visible empty glasses and did nothing, after about 10 minutes I just went to the bar to pay. I was very disappointed with the service I received here, had it been better we would've been much more likely to stick around for a few more drinks.
