While away for work a group of us decided to go out on a weeknight to celebrate a colleague's birthday so Mezzaluna came highly recommended. Mezzaluna is located in the downtown area of Fargo. So here's the summary: Parking: There is ample free street parking, which I'm definitely not used to having in LA. Entrance & Ambiance: It was a little tricky to find the entrance. You have to walk down a long hallway to get to the restaurant. The ambiance is very lively, dimly lit, spacious. Pricing: prices were affordable and what you would expect from a nice Italian restaurant Menu selection: good selection for meat eaters and vegetarians but sadly not for vegans/non-dairy eaters Service: our servers were great! All in all, it was a nice option and the sorbet was delicious! I know it's the Midwest so I can't expect a ton of vegan options; however, it would be nice to have more than 1 option.

Best five star restaurant in North Dakota. The food is of the highest quality. The service is what you would expect from a five star restaurant. The ambience is glamorous with ceiling chandeliers. You will spend $200 for two people, but the experience is well worth it.

We heard nothing but great things about this restaurant and it did not disappoint. It's beautiful inside! Very elegant and modern. I had the sweet potato gnocchi and it was delicious! My husband loved the Wagu zabuton and my friend also enjoyed the smash burger. You should definitely order the beef tartar as an appetizer! They also gave us an intermezzo between our appetizer. We sat at a bar table without a reservation on a Thursday night. It started to fill up later on so I would suggest a reservation. Service was spot on from start to finish. If you go to the bathroom downstairs check out the storage room!

In Fargo for an overnight and Mezzaluna came highly recommended! For the most part it lived up to the hype. Ambiance was great, romantic and fun. The waitress did a wonderful job and was friendly to talk to. We had the following things: seared sea scallops - scallops were VERY tender and delicious. The colors on the plate were vibrant and incredible. My husband loved the romesco sauce - I wasn't as much of a fan. shrimp and grits - WOW. Would 100% go back for this. The grits were seasoned extremely well, shrimp was tender. Very flavorful dish. wagyu zabuton - YUM. Cooked perfectly. The crust on the steak was great and so tender. Sauce was wonderful and flavorful. Will definitely get this again. salmon - This was the server's recommendation and unfortunately the sauce was the exact same as the scallops, which made it a bit redundant. This was the most disappointing dish. The parsnips were overcooked and limp. roasted beets - These came cold and were delicious. There were a LOT of beets. Way too many for 2 people, but this would be a great dish to share with others. earl grey panna cotta - YUM. I don't know how they get the earl grey flavor but it was perfect. I thought there was a bit too much whipped cream and I would have loved a citrus element! Would definitely go back and would recommend it as a very fancy date in Fargo!

I went on New Years Eve for their special 7 course menu. It's one star and the main two reasons are: 1) The "butter poached lobster" was mushy. This means it was not fresh and going bad 2) "Wagyu Zabuton" was absolutely not Wagyu. It was as chewy as hanger steak I could go into more detail but it was such an embarrassing way to spend NYE and over $300 (I ordered scallops and baked brie a la carte as well) and enough of my time and money has already been wasted. Will not ever dine here again, and no amount of ambiance or good service (which neither were great or worthy of mention regardless) could make up for having soggy food and falsely advertising.

Incredible dinner at Mezzaluna tonight. Our hipster server was beyond awesome - I wish I could remember his name! We did the four course tasting menu. Our favorite dishes were the mushroom second course and the flourless chocolate cake dessert. We'd definitely come back here if we visit Fargo again!

Top notch restaurant in the Fargo/Moorhead area. Continental menu with imagination. If you want a special treat, sit at the bar and order your drinks and dinner. You'll be located in the center of the room with some of the best service offered anywhere. A restaurant that still takes great pride in staff training and service.

    Ask the Community - Mezzaluna

I'm in town for a conference with my family, and we'd love to try this restaurant. Would a very well-behaved 2-year-old and 4-year-old be welcome here? Or is this the kind of place where the sight of children would ruin everyone's night?

Very nice restaurant! I wouldn't bring kids

Can teenage kids eat at Mezzaluna or is it 21 and older only?

Yes, kids may eat at Mezzaluna. Keep in mind that they do not have a menu for kids.

I went with the avocado toast (not pictured as it was already gone ) and fruit (pictured). I was very excited that the fruit did not contain cantaloupe or honeydew. My friend got the Fargo special (pictured) which was 10/10, had the perfect crispiness on the bread and the taste was great. All in all, I suggest supporting this downtown eatery!

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, inviting, and genuinely welcoming -- the kind of place where you instantly know you're about to have a great experience. We ordered the seared halibut and the wild acres duck breast, and honestly... I'm still thinking about them. The halibut was perfectly cooked -- tender, delicate, and packed with flavor. The duck was incredible -- rich, balanced, and executed with precision. Every bite felt intentional. And the service? Just as impressive. Attentive, friendly, and natural -- not forced, not rushed -- just real hospitality that made the whole experience even better. It's been a long time since I've had food this memorable. The salmon dip was amazing. Absolutely the best thing that we had. The New York strip was prepared poorly. We asked for it medium to rare and it came very well done. The asparagus were very tough and woody. Unfortunately, the best part of that dish was the mashed potatoes. The dish came with lump crab on top. We ended up just scraping that off because it felt like they just took it out of a can and put it on top. It didn't add anything to the dish.
