My favorite restaurant in the area, I grew up here and come here often on birthdays, date nights, & celebrations. 10/10 recommend

In Fargo for an overnight and Mezzaluna came highly recommended! For the most part it lived up to the hype. Ambiance was great, romantic and fun. The waitress did a wonderful job and was friendly to talk to. We had the following things: seared sea scallops - scallops were VERY tender and delicious. The colors on the plate were vibrant and incredible. My husband loved the romesco sauce - I wasn't as much of a fan. shrimp and grits - WOW. Would 100% go back for this. The grits were seasoned extremely well, shrimp was tender. Very flavorful dish. wagyu zabuton - YUM. Cooked perfectly. The crust on the steak was great and so tender. Sauce was wonderful and flavorful. Will definitely get this again. salmon - This was the server's recommendation and unfortunately the sauce was the exact same as the scallops, which made it a bit redundant. This was the most disappointing dish. The parsnips were overcooked and limp. roasted beets - These came cold and were delicious. There were a LOT of beets. Way too many for 2 people, but this would be a great dish to share with others. earl grey panna cotta - YUM. I don't know how they get the earl grey flavor but it was perfect. I thought there was a bit too much whipped cream and I would have loved a citrus element! Would definitely go back and would recommend it as a very fancy date in Fargo!

Weird pasty bread, butter was okay

I went on New Years Eve for their special 7 course menu. It's one star and the main two reasons are: 1) The "butter poached lobster" was mushy. This means it was not fresh and going bad 2) "Wagyu Zabuton" was absolutely not Wagyu. It was as chewy as hanger steak I could go into more detail but it was such an embarrassing way to spend NYE and over $300 (I ordered scallops and baked brie a la carte as well) and enough of my time and money has already been wasted. Will not ever dine here again, and no amount of ambiance or good service (which neither were great or worthy of mention regardless) could make up for having soggy food and falsely advertising.

Incredible dinner at Mezzaluna tonight. Our hipster server was beyond awesome - I wish I could remember his name! We did the four course tasting menu. Our favorite dishes were the mushroom second course and the flourless chocolate cake dessert. We'd definitely come back here if we visit Fargo again!

Top notch restaurant in the Fargo/Moorhead area. Continental menu with imagination. If you want a special treat, sit at the bar and order your drinks and dinner. You'll be located in the center of the room with some of the best service offered anywhere. A restaurant that still takes great pride in staff training and service.

The ambiance was excellent, I love their crystal chandelier. We started with their scallops, which were insane. This is a MUST ORDER appetizer. So delicious! We had the wagyu denver steak. The potato puree it came with was amazing. The flavor of the wagyu steak was excellent but the meat was a little tough, which was disappointing. For dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake and the matcha-lemongrass creme brulee. Both were delicious! I love matcha and creme brulee so I was the combination made me very pleased. I still dream about it.

Since it is my fiance and i's tradition to try the most fanciest restaurant in each state, i discovered Mezzaluna as the fanciest restaurant in Fargo, ND. When making a reservation through their site, depending on the number of people you bring along, you can only book a certain time. You dont need to book so much ahead of time, unless there is a specific time you are looking for. You can book the day before even when booking for a Saturday night. For up to 4 people, you can pick any time between 5 pm to 8:45 pm. For more than 4 people, you can only pick 8:30 pm or 8:45 pm. Due to this we sadly had one decide to opt out and have 4 of us rather than 5. Its interesting because in those booths, we surely can fit more than 4 people or just have 3 in the booth and then two in the seats in front of us. For drinks, we ordered mai tais, a palisades, and margaritas. The margarita for the night had a raspberry taste and you couldnt taste much of the tequila. The palisades was my favorite. You can taste a bit of vodka but the cucumber taste made it a bit sour to my liking. The mai tais were strong in alcohol. If you didnt mix the drink around, you wouldnt have much taste to it. For main entree, my fiance and I ordered the Bacon Wrapped Bison Meatloaf. Having Bison for the first time, I can say it tastes like a meatball, but much more of a different meatier taste. My fiance says it reminds him of a turkey meatball, but with a tangier better taste. My uncle in law ordered the Halibut, which he noted was a nice smooth taste. Not dry at all. My aunt in law ordered the Mezz Burger. She loved the many options to choose from for fries (rosemary, truffle, garlic, and regular). She chose the rosemary, but didnt like all the extra salt added. The burger tasted juicy but noted she would rather have the Halibut next time. I recommend the Bison if you have never tried it before. If you have before, I recommend the Halibut with a nice taste. For dessert, we had chocolate cake with pistachios. I'm a huge fan of that nut... so a good mix with some good rich chocolate was satisfying. My fiance, uncle in law, and I had most of the cake. My aunt in law didnt like how sweet it was so she was only able to take a few bites. Overall, we all said we would come back here again. We even found a future date night for his uncle and aunt.

    Ask the Community - Mezzaluna

I'm in town for a conference with my family, and we'd love to try this restaurant. Would a very well-behaved 2-year-old and 4-year-old be welcome here? Or is this the kind of place where the sight of children would ruin everyone's night?

Very nice restaurant! I wouldn't bring kids

Can teenage kids eat at Mezzaluna or is it 21 and older only?

Yes, kids may eat at Mezzaluna. Keep in mind that they do not have a menu for kids.

This time around was better, they had an impossible burger, a really nice sounding salad and a "bowl", plus apps. The bun and the topping for their burgers were very good, which makes a difference with an impossible burger. The fries were "meh", but the cauliflower hot wings were quite good (not more than once have I been to a restaurant that messes those up). Service was quite good and attentive. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, inviting, and genuinely welcoming -- the kind of place where you instantly know you're about to have a great experience. The menu has the usual pub fare - wings, burgers, salads, and sandwiches. But on Saturdays and Sundays from 9-1, the menu expands to things like omelets, hash, Benedicts and breakfast sandwiches. So, when our Friday night hotel bartender recommended Lucky's for breakfast, well, we knew where we'd be headed. The breakfast service we encountered on Saturday was extraordinary, so hats off to our server Beth. Our party of ten walked in when breakfast opened, and she quickly set up a few long tables for our group. Oh, and she set out two coloring activities and crayons for the two young guests in our group. Our breakfast started with complimentary bowls of popcorn and we saw some very interesting eye openers on the menu, like a Breakfast Punch (with Rum, orange and pineapple juice, strawberry purée, and ginger ale), a Lucky's Blueberry Pancake Shooter (with Stoli Blueberry vodka, Butterscotch, Orange Bacardi, and a slice of bacon) and a Keoki Coffee (with Kahlua, Baileys Irish Cream, coffee and whipped cream). We passed on these alcoholic temptations; Beth took our orders flawlessly and the food started rolling out of the kitchen in no time. We started off with a order of Beignets for the table ($9.99) - "Deep-fried beignets made with croissant dough, topped with powdered sugar & a side of strawberry jam. I tried one and it was very good -piping hot, light as a feather, but surprisingly not greasy. My wife ordered a Ham and Cheese Omelet ($13.99 served with her choice of toast and a side of fresh fruit, home fries or cheesy baked hash browns. It was a generous portion and the fruit cup she ordered was fresh and tasty. My Cajun Hash ($15.49 with Andouille disks, shredded chicken, two big shrimp, peppers, onions, cheesy hash, & scrambled eggs) was one of the best breakfasts I've had all year. It was a gigantic portion, and I was more than full with half of it. Beth was automatic with the coffee refills, was very sweet dealing with the two children in our party and gladly gave our couples separate checks. One very cool thing we saw was a "Treasure chest" full of children's toys, coloring books, and activities as freebies for the little darlings that visit. These weren't junky dollar store toys, but some nice stuff. We could not have been happier with our breakfast at Lucky's 13.
