Have to say that when I read…read morethe reviews in their entirety, I understood why they're negative: the authors didn't do their due diligence before investing. First, Sandvold doesn't "lose your money." They invest your money based on their best info about market trends. They don't invest anywhere without your permission. Meaning they'll explain market trends, answer questions, make recommendations, but will do nothing unless you approve. If you have less than a set amount invested, there are fees involved; above that amount it's considered "no-load" and you don't pay a fee to invest or trade. If the investment loses money, it's because the market did something unexpected, not because "Sandvold lost money." Sandvold doesn't make money off your loss. He makes money when you do, and he collects a percentage of your return. Please note: a percentage of your *return*, not your principal. This is an important point: they make money only when you do, so they have a vested interest in making sure you make money. I have never had any problem receiving return calls from them. They've been very responsive when I needed to take a distribution for a real estate investment. They worked with me to wire funds rather than mail them to make sure I received them in a timely manner. They meet with me quarterly to review my investments (even those I have invested elsewhere [employer retirement funds]), making recommendations based on analysis of trends and projections. If I fail to call to arrange a quarterly meeting, they call me. I am not charged anything for the meetings, nor for the trades or investments. I've recommended Sandvold to my siblings to invest money earned from the sale of Mom's estate. Both my siblings are out of state; no matter. As another reviewer here mentioned, state lines are irrelevant. They're a phone call away. So: Why did I rate them four stars instead of five? I haven't made money as fast as I wanted. I was an idiot earlier in life and didn't plan for retirement. Now retirement is staring me in the face and I'm woefully unprepared. Sandvold can't fix my decades-old mistake, but they'll work with me to mitigate it as much as possible. I want to make larger returns, but that requires larger risk and based on my "pucker factor" (i.e., my "risk questionnaire"), they're suggesting lower-risk investments. It's my own damned fault that I don't have as much in my retirement funds as I probably should, but they're earning me money nonetheless. It's a respectable firm. And I recommend them.

He has our portfolio well balanced. The research demonstrated both during those personal discussions, as well as periodic interactions with his team have heightened our confidence in Sandvold Financial Group. After the close of each day in the market, their website allows me to check on our investments. If anything, in the beginning Sandvold Financial Group was too modest in both their diverse access to funds and all that they do for customers. Subsequently, after three months of waiting for an action plan, there was no effort made to move assets or take any action to improve our current financial situation or even make plans for the future. After a long period of inactivity, we reached out to express our frustrations. While Patrick offered some advice regarding a specific tax form that could help us recover some past year's taxes, he made a point to insinuate that we should be happy to have received "free" advice from him, and informed us that it sounded like we were not going to be comfortable paying his elevated tax service fees. He subsequently produced a fabricated email, claiming that he sent it to us previously, which indicated that he did not want to help us further, that he did not have familiarity with real estate matters. Our final communication from Rachel this week stated, "At this point, I don't feel that Berger is a good "fit" and I wouldn't feel good about moving forward only to come to a potential stopping point that would hinder your process and future goals." As a family of two teachers and three young children, we really needed help to plan for retirement. We had received a high recommendation about Berger Financial. Some people apparently have had great success with Berger financial, and I would hope that their success stories would also show up in these reviews. But it seems as though the majority of these successes were under the leadership of Mark Berger's father, as Mark specifically mentioned that he had recently taken over the business from his father and he knew that he needed to work hard to earn our trust. Well Mark, you and your team failed to accomplish this. We took a leap of faith that you and your team could help us with our financial planning for our family of five, and you only convinced us to help steer others away from your services, which is the goal of our review today. Good luck to you and your international investment ventures, and whatever strange advice that you gave us regarding bitcoin. The class was excellent, and we had a lot of work to do. For example, I had a pension in my maiden name even though we had been married 24 years! David was very thorough and respectful. He put together a cash flow analysis by looking at our investments, our expected Social Security, our pensions, and our current income. We have a…read more$500,000 mortgage through Bell that we were going through a amortization process to drop the PMI. We wrote them a $125,000 check. Our own agent told us that if we wrote it for a specific amount that certain fees would be waived or simply wrapped into that amount. After we wrote the check, we were told...oops, that was wrong. And we need another $250 to complete the amortization. This is after they've cashed the checks so I don't have the option to be just as petty as this company is and back out of the process and get my $125,000 back. Bell Bank, are the penny pushers so powerful in your company that you have zero customer care values? Is it worth pissing off your customers this badly over $250 when you make 3/4 profit off interest over the life of the loan?
