A pizza place that doesn't give you the side eye when you order a cheeseless pizza? YES! I love everything about Blaze! The concept is genius! You get in line, pick your crust (they have gluten free), choose from a variety of sauces, cheese, meats and veggies. They assemble your pizza and about 5 minutes later it comes out of the oven with a perfectly crisp crust. The pizzas are personal sized, but I was able to share mine with my child and was plenty satisfied. The service here was fantastic. The only issue is that the bathrooms are single stalls and the place was packed. I had to wait about 15 minutes before taking my kid to the bathroom, which is an eternity for a mom. read more

The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 was because it was our first visit and I was kind of confused by the process and the staff made zero effort to explain. I said that I didn't know how this worked and they said "what can I get for you?" I kept it simple and ordered her a plain cheese pizza and myself a salad. If I had known they had vegan options I would've certainly ordered myself a pizza as well, so I was bummed I didn't ask (my fault, not theirs). Blaze has a place in the new DIY pizza trend in G'ville. It was not a trend until Dough Religion opened, but now I am looking forward to the next entry in the DIY pizza game. I love pizza, and my husband loves to mix stuff up, and then we eat it. When he mixes stuff up, he makes a huge mess that I must clean, so the concept of "build your own, DYI, Do It Yourself" pizza, and someone else cleaning up the mess, is attractive to me. Build your own pizza, is like polaroid art, it is cheep, quick, easy, and you put something of your self into it, so you feel like you are being creative within narrowly defined choices: you do not get to give input on the dough, or crafting the sauce, you do not get to even pic the style of pizza, but, if the employees work with you, you get to craft a pizza from the ingredients in front of you, the way you like it, in their style. And everyone, given that kind of superficial control, feels like Andy Warhol with a Polaroid. That is what you face with DIY pizza, and after a great experience at Dough Religion I wanted to give Blaze a chance to reply with their interpretation of the DIY pizza concept. Blaze did okay, but... Blaze has wine and beer, not a full bar like DR. I am okay with that at this level of fast food. Give me some alcohol option at this level: that is all I ask. We built a pizza at Blaze, and it came out mostly good. The downfall was the dough. They put dough in a freaky press that spins and presses it in ways that make you want to call the police. The dough is a downfall: flavor, crunchiness, yeastiness, chewiness, all of these things was off because of the way the dough was molested right before putting it in the oven. On one hand, I did not like it at all. On the other hand the dough is very thin, which I do like. Very thin dough makes a pizza that is all about the sauce and toppings. Thin dough can, CAN, also make a pizza that is a less guilty pleasure. When you are in our age, empty calories are the enemy, and a thin crust is guilt free walk on the wild side. I cannot make this call for everyone, some people buy food by the positive calorie, so many units of fuel, but for me the thinness of the crust was the crust's only redeeming value. I love a lite pizza with a very thin crust. The crust was thin but not good. It was the type of crust I like, and it was not good. You cannot make a cruse thin enough for me, and this was the thinnest of the then but the flavor, crunchiness, chewiness, yeastiness, and the general undefined pizza crustiness, it failed on all counts, and it was burnt on the edges oxidizing my body in ways I do not want it rusted. The crust was a fail. The crust failed, the topping selection was good, the employees were not as playful as the other place, but it was the middle of the day, and personalities click and do not click based on things that are not controllable, and they have a choice of sauces - that should have been in the body of the critique - and even if the employees were not as playful, they gave no push back on crazy requests for extra stuff. Blaze was okay. I do not go down Archer unless I am forced - but I like DIY pizza, and if you are already on Archer, you should give it a try. The dough and the hate crime that happens to the dough, should not be overlooked, but I am going to overlook it and give Blaze 4 stars. read more

Quick and easy! I came in to try the gf pizza and really enjoyed it. It's a simple concept of choosing what you want in a simply "assembly line" with lots of topping options. Not impressed. I used to love going to blaze Pizza for its fresh ingredients, friendly staff, and obviously the pizza. Customer service and quality has become less than satisfactory. Ordered 2 pizzas tonight and toppings were just thrown on messy, and uneven. I'm also pretty sure my Pizza wasn't in the oven long enough due to my mushrooms not being fully cooked how they should be and my chicken still cold and chewy ! Terrible flavor . I used to recommend blaze for those looking for a different experience and flavor in Gainesville, but I will no longer be returning and recommend to no one. read more

When you approach the counter you can order a default themed pizza or create our own by selecting different crusts and sauces - they will even do half and half on sauces which is a great way to try it all. After you make the basic selections you move down the counter indicating toppings. Once you run the toppings bar, into the oven it goes and then is back out in all its awesome goodness in a super short time! The ordering process is similar to Relish, Subway, Moe's, etc. I would normally think it's too expensive for a pizza, but I love that I get to load on the toppings. I'm pretty impressed with the variety of toppings (and the number of cheeses available). I always get the Build Your Own so I can indulge in mozzarella ovalini. (Around $7). They have a wide variety of fresh toppings for you to choose from, and you're allowed to get as many you you'd like for your personal pizza! They have various kinds of vegetables as well as different kinds of meats and cheeses. I personally love the mozzarella they have because it's always so fresh! If you're not in the mood for pizza, they have a variety of salads available for you to choose as well. This place is a nice hangout spot that I usually go to with friends. She took care of my problem and was just an absolute joy to speak to, for as brief as it was. THE FOOD- I am not normally somebody that enjoys thin pizza. I enjoy some substance in the crust. I was slightly disappointed when I saw how thin it was, but then I bit into it. I honestly could have wept tears of joy as to how...PERFECT it tasted. My order is a very heavy order and is as follows: thin crust, red sauce, pesto sauce on the crust, every cheese there EXCEPT blue (I've never tried it and I'm afraid it'll ruin the taste but you can always get it on the side), jalapeños, banana peppers (I make it spicy), mushrooms, olives, turkey meatball meat, salt, oregano, red tomatoes. I had Blaze pizza for lunch last week and can't wait to go back. My pizza was fairly simple, with spicy red sauce, mozzarella cheese and Italian sausage...but holy cow was it great. It is almost like a "Subway" for pizza how you get to choose from toppings and they make the pizza right in front of you. But that would be a disservice to Blaze, because Blaze is so much better than Subway. I'm looking forward to trying other toppings on my next pizza. read more

So the place feels like a Chipotle. Perfect casual spot for college students. The a pizza is VERY reasonable. I ordered a custom pizza, drink, smore and my total was $13. When making your pizza, you have to be careful what you're adding. I ended up with a really salty pizza and it was completely my fault! The pizza takes a couple of minutes to fire up and they will heat up the smore with your pizza upon request. Even though it's not a full service restaurant, it sure felt like it! All the employees were on top of their station and even made time to walk around and chat with the patrons. Awesome job! How here comes my suggestion: bbq sauce + queso blanco. This place was really fun and fast! Definitely need to come back! If I ordered a pizza here I can get it in about 2-3mins which is the fastest I can say for a pizza shop! That most pizza parlors tend to take 15-25mins to make theirs. I got the unlimited toppings for my thin crusted pizza, they have three to four different sauces and I chose the spicy sauce! The toppings looked fresh and well chopped up to portion sizes. Depending on what sauce you use it can make or break a pizza so be wise and enjoy the deliciousness. I sure did!
