My girlfriend and I have eaten at Blaze many times. Each time I "build my own pizza" I expect someone to escort me out of the building and ask me to never return! But, each time I return they graciously smile and ask-what else would you like on your pizza? If Blaze Pizza were to get any better- they would have to charge admission! read more

Customer Service at Its BEST!!!! (and really good pizza) I am a mother of two. I have a 3 year old and a 18 month old little girls. I visit Blaze regularly with my family. On this particular trip to our family's favorite restaurant I was blown away by the staffs empathy and willingness to go above and beyond to cater to me and my daughters. Upon entering the restaurant I had my 18 month old in my arms and holding my 3 year old hand. Needless to say if you have children or younger siblings I;m sure you can relate. I was struggling with my oldest when we got to the front doors , when a Blaze employee grabbed the doors and held them open for us so I didn't have to struggle with my oldest daughter. By now most of the employees know our order, one employee said aloud, "a couple of simple pies light red sauce?", said with a smile. I ordered my pizzas, payed and before I walked away from the cashier a manager was holding a child booster seat and a baby highchair. As if he read my mind. He told me to choose a table, which I did. He then removed a chair to put the baby highchair and but the booster seat on the other side of the table. He then told me if i needed anything at all that he would take care of it. Moments later he cam with our pizzas, a Parmesan shaker and cups of water for all three of us. The same gentleman that held the door open for us came and checked on us as well. I just want you to know that, you never know what kind of day a person is having. Simple acts of genuine care and selflessness can turn around a persons day, week or life. I wrote this review because not only does this staff deserve recognition but I was having one of those days. And a RESTAURANT and its staff turned it around in the matter of moments. I wish I could name all of the employees that worked that day, but the two young men that made this experience one for the record books, Troy and Justin thank you so much for your selflessness and overall care toward helping people. -A customer for Life! read more

I consider myself somewhat of a pizza connoisseur so I decided to give this place a try since Gainesville is my new home. I realize that this is a chain, but it's never been anywhere I've lived so it's new to me. Plus, there's no Mellow Mushroom here (a bit of a disappointment) so I had to find another pizza spot. Blaze seems to follow of trend of customized fast-casual dining similar to Chipotle and Subway only for pizza. It's like Your Pie, only better. It's actually more similar to a place in Washington DC called &Pizza. Same idea. First, the service was very good. The servers are pretty patient with first timers like myself and they did a great job explaining the whole Blaze process. Anyways, they have several options to choose from as far as topping combinations but then you can add other toppings and choose different sauces. The beauty of this place is that they don't charge you for those extra toppings (even the meats) unlike other places. I got the Meat Eater, minus the red onions and I added spinach (I'm very serious about by vegetable intake). Once you go down the line of adding the different toppings, you pay while your pizza cooks in the oven (nothing out of the ordinary in that process). The pizza didn't take long to cook and it was really good. The size of the individual pizza is substantial. I definitely couldn't eat it all in one sitting. The price was very reasonable as well. So, I went to Blaze twice when it first opened. Once in the second night open, and then the night after that. The pizza was awesome, and I fully intended on going back as a regular customer. However, as soon as the grand opening week was over things changed. Not sure why, but when I went back the week after opening they completely burned the underside of the pizza. I was bummed and didn't go back until tonight, several months later, to see if things had changed. Unfortunately, I was served another pizza with a burnt bottom. I'm pretty sure I know what the issue is though. When cooking, they shove the pizza all the way to the back of the oven, right next to the fire, ans then spin it every so often to cook it evenly. Only issue is being that close to the fire will always char the bottom of it, completely killing the taste of the pizza. This kind of sucks, because when they aren't burnt, these pizzas are something to brag about. read more

This place is a hit in Gainesville. For pi-day (March 14) the line was out of the door and on to the street. The pizza is made very quick and there is an abundance of toppings. The build your own pizza is the way to go. One solid price for unlimited toppings; not to mention they don't charge for wanting extra cheese (great for all the cheese lovers). There are a lot of veggies to choose from. My favorite is the zucchini that toasts in the oven. A pizza and a drink is less than $10 and the pizza is big enough to have left overs.
