It's tough because its a chain, but Blaze is about one of the best pizza deals you can get in Williamsburg. The lines are typically long, but move fast. The pizza is great with a ton of toppings as options. The build your own is great value but their Prix Fixe are well thought out and a good price as well. Pizzas have a crispy thing crust, and despite this place cranking out a ton of pizzas they tend to do well with timing. I'd come back and would recommend. read more

This is my first time eating ate Blaze Pizza. I will start with the positives. Portion size is very good, service was excellent, and restaurant was clean and inviting. Now for the negative, please keep in mind I chose my own pizza tops which could have contributed to the tasteless pizza. There was no flavor at all, I added crushed red pepper, which I never do, to see if it would help but it didn't, very disappointing. The pizza was also cut very unevenly, I had two very small slices and 4 huge slices making it difficult to eat. I am on the French as to if I will give them a second chance. read more

Blaze Pizza is probably some of the worst i've ever had along with the worst pizza place i've ever been to. The food had bugs in it, there were bugs on multiple tables. It food was not nearly worth the price, i would've been better off with a grocery store frozen pizza. The staff was extremely rude to me and other customers from what i could tell. One staff member who had very curly dark hair, lots of tattoos, and if i'm remembering correctly his name started with a T, was excessively creepy. He tried asking for my number which is extremely inappropriate for a work environment as well as making multiple weird comments on my body that made me very uncomfortable. Along with that, he was very flirty and touchy with one of his female coworkers the entire time i was there. Definitely not a person I want touching my pizza. This is a welcome addition to the Williamsburg dining scene! Quick and friendly service (they call you by your name from the time you order until the time you pay), delicious food with quality ingredients and reasonable prices. Yesterday my boss and I checked it out and managed to just miss the lunch rush. I opted to go with one of their signature pizzas- the Veg Out- and added banana peppers. It was very good. The thin crust had a firm texture that I enjoy, the blend of mozz and Gorgonzola cheeses was not overly greasy and dollops of their red sauce was subtly sweet. The vegetables were plentiful. I walked in and it wasn't apparent where to order but I figured it out. This is a Chipotles style pizza ordering. You pick your pizza, toppings etc and follow it down the line until you pay for it. The drinks are self serve and around the corner from the ovens. The concept is you pick your own pizza, have it made, then your name is called and you'll go and pick it up from up front. Before I decided to write my review I had to experience Blaze Pizza at least twice... Most Build/Create-Your-Own dining places are awesome, but tend to get expensive the more you get creative. Not at Blaze though... One price for a ton of options, that encourage creativity and total taste bliss! The staff here are great! For example if they see that you sit down and you forgot to grab napkins, they'll bring them to you before you can even ask. They are super friendly and always talkative. You can tell that everyone at Blaze Pizza enjoys working there. For the food..... Well..... It's fast, fresh and delicious! Fast, tasty, and affordable! Where do I sign up? We were in the area and looking for something quick and affordable for lunch. Yelp led us to Blaze Fast Fire'd Pizza. It's basically the Chipotle of pizza. They make personal sized pizzas quickly which are fire baked in their oven. It works like this: you choose your pizza, toppings, and after it's baked, any finishing toppings. You can either make your own or choose from one of their signature creations. I chose a make your own while my husband chose the BBQ pizza. Mine had a pesto garlic sauce with red peppers, spinach, basil, italian sausage, bacon, and mozzarella. I was excited and it smelled awesome baking. Our pizzas were made quickly and correctly too. They are thin crust personal pan pizzas but there is an option to have a thicker crust for a fee. We loved our pizzas. There was not much talking between us which is a good indicator that we were both hungry and enjoying our meal. Another nice thing about Blaze is the service. The staff was friendly and helpful from start to finish. They made it a great first experience for us. It's fast, tasty, and affordable. I hope they bring Blaze to Northern Va! Food is great! People are great! Service is fast! I'm not a big pizza fan, but my family is so we decided to give it a try. I loved the option to create your own pizza with over 35 different options to pick from. You don't get charged by the topping so it's sort of like the subway of pizza joints. The pizza is cooked in a red hot open oven and it only takes 3 minutes to cook. I decided to go with classic red sauce, mozzarella cheese, bacon, ham, pepperoni, tomatoes, mushrooms, black olives, sea salt and oregano. The kids had cheese and pepperoni, and my wife had spicy pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, spinach, feta, pepperoni, pineapple, and red onion. Everyone loved it! This is a must try. great place! I've come here twice since it opened on Thursday (it's now Monday) so it hasn't even been open for a week & it's already one of the best pizza places in Williamsburg. Newtown is a good location, once you get some food it's nice to walk around & get a coffee or some ice cream in the surrounding shops. As far as Blaze goes, it's very nice inside & out. Very modern looking. Kind of reminds you of a "chipotle" feel. They play good music - I was surprised to hear Best Coast playing on the radio but it was awesome. The staff is friendly & efficient. They've been trained well. Mack, Garry, Scott have been working while I've gone in & they are all great workers. Very friendly, positive attitude. As far as the pizza goes - I love the different sauce options. I've tried all three: regular red sauce, spicy red sauce, and the white sauce. All very good. My personal favorite is the spicy red sauce because it has a kick but it's not holy-shit-my-mouth-is-on-fire kind of hot. I've gotten pepperonis & bacon for meats (it's nice because you don't get charged additionally for extra toppings) They have plenty of cheese options - I personally like the feta and ovalini mozzarella together. It looks like they're not putting a lot of cheese on your pizza, but that's because when cooking in the oven it expands across your entire pizza so think twice before asking for extra cheese. They put a certain amount on for a reason - even if it looks "skimpy" it's not when it's done cooking. I've gotten onions & green peppers as far as vegetables go - then to top it off oregano & Parmesan cheese. It's perfect. The crust is the best part. Pizzas are cooked fast & for a fair price. I love the fact that I can customize my pizza from start to finish. There is nothing better than getting the perfect cheese to toppings ratio in every slice. You don't get the same experience from pizza delivery restaurants so it is so worth going inside. With this being said, the staff on the assembly line can make the experience either really enjoyable or really tedious. I just love creating my own pizza here. Everyone is usually always upbeat and extremely accommodating especially with giving generous portions. But the last time, it felt like I had to nearly beg for every single topping. I don't mind asking for more topping after not getting enough. But It takes the joy out of creating your own pizza when you are being given a look of annoyance during the process. I never had this happen here before so I was a little taken back. My husband even commented on it and he never complains. I hope management takes a good look at the interactions of some of their employees because of one bad tomato can definitely spoil the pizza sauce. On another note, I understand the restaurants is always busy but the tables need to be wiped down more frequently. We had a hard time finding a clean table. First time here. Pizza was good BUT the service was pitiful. I was told to take the number to my table and the food would be brought over. Instead they made it a takeout order so I picked it up. When I asked for plates the young kid acted like it was a terrible burden to give them to me. I should also mention that there were at least 5 young men behind the counter and my family was the only people in the restaurant at about 7pm. I believe that they are fairly priced and the service is always great. They also offer some aqua fresca drinks that are absolutely delicious. The only negative to this place is how small the area is where you are to pick up your orders and fill up on drinks. It tends to get extremely crowded there during lunch time. Blaze is basically Chipotle but for pizzas. Now, you could compare these pizzas to Pie Five or other personal pizza restaurants, but they cannot beat Blaze's selections. For the sauces, I would recommend going for a mixture of two. I usually tend to get the spicy red sauce with a drizzle of the white cream sauce; however, it's not really that much of a spicy sauce, just a kick at the end. For the cheeses, you can't go wrong with good ole' mozzarella, but go for new things! The ricotta or ovalini mozzarella are really nice additions to any pizza. Also, there's vegan cheese as well! ALSO, BE PREPARED FOR SO MANY TOPPING OPTIONS! My favorite combo is roasted garlic, cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, sauteed onions, and green peppers. For the meat lovers, Blaze also offers about 10 different meat options as well! After the pizza is fired up, don't forget to ask for glazes on top. The pesto tends to be very oily, so I would not recommend unless you use a couple of napkins to blot. Usually, I get the bbq sauce on the side so I have something to dunk my crusts in. Above all, the best thing about Blaze is the staff. They are so welcoming and will refer to you by your actual name. They're always happy to cater to any request: whether it be adding more cheese or a complicated order like half pesto on one side and a mix of spicy red with cream on the other. Price is pretty standard at around 8 dollars for a build your own. But, there's no max on toppings, so go crazy. Pros: The pizza is really delicious. It's a very simple, genuine pizza, much like you'd find in Italy, with a thin, crispy but pliable and very light crust. You choose whatever toppings you'd like, and it is "blazed" in a pizza oven for about 10 minutes. There is only one size; good for sharing but perfect if you have a big appetite, and the cost is reasonable, although the more toppings you add, the higher the price goes. Cons: The staff is rude. They are impatient. If you've not been there before, they are intolerant, and barely give you a minute to read the menu. There was no one in line behind us, and only one active order in front of us; the restaurant appeared to be about 1/4 full, and it was 6pm on a Sunday. It soured the experience for us. The set-up is much like a Subway or Chipotle, as you move down the line and select which items you'd like. Then you're rushed to the register, and if you pay with a card, the first thing it asks for is tip amount. After ordering from a counter, picking up my own food, and bussing my own dishes, what am I tipping exactly? Giant black and white photos of converse shoes oversee the production of perfectly round shaped little hipster pizzas.
