Sophia and I arrived here on Friday morning since we had the day off due to the holiday. The last time we were here was probably a year and a half ago. All the previous times were all excellent with the food and beverages ordered. Let's see if this visit continues the good luck. We were immediately greeted by the staff and promptly seated. To my surprise, they completely remodeled the restaurant. Going from 9 tables to close to 30 and looking gorgeous from head to toe. For the entire hour we were there, it was a sight that I can't forget. Congrats to Tipsy Beans for this :) Enough gloating about the interior. Let's discuss the food. My beverage was a large iced Mud Turtle latte and my meal was a meat lovers omelet with mushrooms added (for only 25 cents extra). Everything was excellent. The latte wasn't too sweet which was very good for me. And their tall glass (which is new for remodeling) was really cool. The omelet was cooked perfectly with the protein and veggies all coming together. A home run all around. Thank you Tipsy Beans for making us feel at home. This was a staple of our Williamsburg visits, and we decided to stop by for dinner today. We called ahead to check the wait time, and the young lady said it was around 10 minutes. Since we were already in the parking lot, we made the easy decision to go in. As we walked in, I noticed that the place had been expanded. We stood at the podium, and we were greeted by a greeter who seemed disinterested and lukewarm. Not what I'm accustomed to when I visit. I gave him my information, and he informed me that there was a 20-minute wait. I suggested that we could sit on the other side of the bar, but he said that they were closing that side because they were closing soon (in two hours). I noticed that they had tall tops, and I wanted one. He said that he could make that happen. While he was huffing and puffing and cleaning some tables, which were all standard height, he finally told me that my table was ready and it was a regular table. I was surprised because I had been told earlier that he could make it happen when it came to the table I requested. The greeter then told me that the side with the high tops was closed, so I had waited 30 minutes for a table. I could have sat at the bar, but Maurice wanted to go home at 6 p.m. sharp, and he had no recollection of what he had said. I was disappointed with the service and the lack of attention to detail. Stopped by here once on a busy Sunday afternoon and was amazed at how packed it was! Though it was busy, the hostess and baristas were very friendly and patient. It is much bigger inside than I expected. I ordered to-go, and decided on the Tipsy Breakfast Sampler which gave me lots of options for my meal. My meal & coffee were ready in under 30 minutes and was very tasty! The portion sizes were great, but I might try another meat option next time instead of the turkey bacon which was extra chewy. The home fries were AMAZING & the pancakes were tasty. I was not impressed by my Butterscotch latte. I didn't taste the butterscotch elements nor was it as sweet as I was told it would be. There wasn't space for me to wait so people thought that I was waiting in line each time they walked in. It's super busy, but super small. I waited in the restaurant for my order for maybe an extra 20 mins. So, the wait time was 15 but I waited about 30 mins total. I ordered the catfish platter with fries. They definitely seasoned the catfish and fried it hard. The fries were thick cut and seasoned, but they weren't fried long enough. 3 fish platters cost $50. Even for a person walk-in, the wait is more than 20 minutes at 12noon on a Saturday. You heck in and your name and number are taken so they can call you when seating is available. I finally got seated at the bar. Noticed that they not only spray/clean the counter but also the bar stool - kudos! Jessie at the bar was friendly and personable. Lots of cocktail and coffee offerings! Everyone seems to belong to a happy team, interchangeably having each other's backs from calling the waitlist, to bartending, to making coffee. I just felt like needed to lay out the highlights right away. So much of this place made me smile and happy. I got a Bloody Mary well maybe two, alright three geese. Jess my serve was on top of her game, beautiful, sweet, and foresight full. For my entree I was served crab cake egg Benedict! Sooo amazing. They have an extensive selection of lattes and Coffees and they have a full bar with signature cocktails and shooters, snd by the way the huge list of lattes can come with liquor to give it a punch! Sunday morning my wife, son and I went here around 10 am. We had to wait about 40 minutes to get a table. Not much space inside so we were sat outside and said it would probably be an additional 25 minutes to get sat inside. As for the food there's no kids menu so my 6 year old got the cat fish breakfast which came with eggs added cheese, toast, and stone ground grits. Grits have a great texture but need salt and pepper. Maybe they don't add anything because some people like sweet and some savory. My wife had the meat lovers omelette, added spinach and mushrooms. Also came with home fries and toast. She enjoyed it, but I like my home fries crispy and she likes her more soft so they were perfect for her. I had the chicken and waffles, chicken was well seasoned and juicy. I ordered the seasonal lemon waffle which was the highlight of the meal for me. I wish it came with an additional side of eggs or grits but nonetheless I ended up ordering a side of grits which again needed salt and pepper. For drinks I got an espresso martini, could have been stronger but it was ok. My wife got the butterscotch latte with almond milk, she thought it was just ok as well. Overall the bill was about 87 we tipped 20% so we spent a little over 100$. A good experience. I think if you live in Williamsburg it's a nice place to go. Prior to visiting Williamsburg, Virginia, I went on to Yelp! to bookmark a few places for us to eat during our vacation since I've visited Williamsburg a plethora of times in my lifetime and all they seemed to have was a bunch of Pancake Houses which close early and Commercial Restaurants which stay open late. They have a small indoor area with about 10 four top tables and some bar seating. They have an additional maybe 5 four top tables outside. They offer a vast menu of food and drinks and the entire menu is served ALL DAY-that's the breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, and dessert-ALL DAY! They also have Happy Hour DAILY! Do you hear me, that's daily 3p-6p SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS INCLUDED! Our first visit was a Saturday morning for breakfast and our second visit a Sunday afternoon for a snack/happy hour prior to going to see a movie. On our first visit, we had chicken and waffles, shrimp n grits, sweet tea, and chocolate milk. Them tenders that accompanied the chicken and soft pillowy waffles, chefs kiss, seasoned to perfection-you will see in my pics. Sweet Tea, was perfect for me! Shrimp n grits-shrimp PERFECTLY cooked and seasoned. This bowl of grits was unnecessarily huge to me because it led to the shrimp/grit ratio being off but tasty nonetheless. Our second visit, my son had the Sweet n Spicy brisket tacos which he demolished alongside the Rocket Pop Mocktail which others in the restaurant began ordering after seeing them bring it out to my son. We also had the garlic parm wings which came with a side of seasoned fries. While the wings had a great taste and an amazing ranch on the side, I hated that the wings were breaded then fried. It was not what I was expecting nor wanting so I was thrown off by it, but made the best of it. The glass of Riesling I had was also refreshing. My mouth is watering writing this review. The cafe has exceptional customer service and creative menu items, which were the highlights of my visit. I ordered the Smoked Salmon bagel with home fries. I enjoyed the bagel, although next time I will ordered it without red onions. The onions were a little overpowering for me. The home fries are worth checking out the cafe all themselves. I finally got here after work at a decent enough hour to grab some coffee and breakfast. I've been here a few times, but usually later in the afternoon or evening times. Since it's so early, I thought I'd do breakfast. Today's coffee is Cheat Treat, apparently named because it's made with peanut butter, caramel and hazelnut- all sugar free. It's hot and tasty. For breakfast, I ordered the boozy French toast. It's ok, nothing to shout about. At least not until a gnat took a dive bomb right into my whipped cream. Immediately lost my appetite. And the waiter only offers a measly apology. I'm sorry, but for $14 to only eat half the entree I would have expected some discount or comp. The gnats, from what my waiter said, "bug them, too" but come on. That is disgusting. And they're all over the bar counter. We had attempted to dine here before but it was on a sunny day and the wait was painfully long, like an hour's worth so we went elsewhere but today we got to enjoy this place which was really clean for all the foot traffic that it receives. I ordered medium well and I would say it was more medium. Sweet potato fries were yummy! I had a cold brew with sugar free raspberry syrup-a little too much for me, so maybe go lighter on the pumps.
